"Shippo!" She screamed chasing after the little fox demon. "Stop and tell me whats happening!"
He didnt seem to hear her pleas as he rushed faster through the thick underbrush. Kagome was getting several small scratches from thorns and branches as she struggled to make it through. Then she came to a place where the trees were too dense to get past. At this point she began crawling on hands and knees only catching quick glances of his furry tail.
"Shippo! Where are you?" She asked when he had dissapeared altogeather. She couldn't hear anything now but her own frantic thoughts about what had gotten into the kit.
Just a little while ago she was sitting on the edge of the well deeply in her own thoughts. She was going to return home so she would be safe from demons during their mating season. To her astonishment, Inuyasha had finally confessed his love for her and they decided it was best to wait until after the Heat so he could mate with her properly. Kagome wanted it to be something romantic and he was afraid his demon might force him into raping her. With her still being a virgin she told Inuyasha she didn't want her first time to be that rough. Based off of past experiences with Inuyashas demon there was no way she wanted to lose her virginity in any kind of sadistic manner.
When she was in the middle of a very bad visual of Inuyasha losing control in the bed a scream of her name echoed across the clearing. It was Shippo screaming about needing help with the aid of her powers. So of course with him being her newly adopted kit she was running after him in a second. It felt like she had been chasing him for miles. Her legs were on fire and he had said nothing to her besides words of encouragement to keep following. Earlier she had mentioned they should go back and get the others. He had yelled back over his shoulder that only she could do what was needed. That going back would just waste to much time. Now she felt kind of silly doing this alone. Even the situation felt kind of wrong but her head was screaming at her to follow and protect her son.
Finally she broke through a rather large bush and fell on her face. After getting up she brushed some dirt from her uniform then noticed she was at the base of a steep mountain. She saw Shippo a little ways up waving to her. "Hurry mommy. We're almost there." He said before dissapearing into the mouth of a cave.
Kagome was struk with a sense of uneasness. He had never called her 'mommy'. It was always mama. But he was obviously stressed and he needed her help. Putting aside her doubts she began to climb after him hoping she really could help. She had never had the best control of her powers but when she was under extreme duress they always came to her rescue in a ray of light.
She winced at a sudden pain on her palm. Blood was seeping out from a small cut. She ignored the pain and continued climbing until finally hauling herself over the cliff edge Shippo had previously stood on. After a few momentts of catching her breath she finally raised up to shakey legs and entered the cave. After a few steps into darkness it felt like she was covered with a thick blanket. Breathing became difficult and an overwhelming sense of foreboding overcame her.
She almost wanted to turn around to rethink about going in but a scream shot panic into her heart. "Shippo! Where are u?" She yelled above his screams as she made her way farther into the depths of the darkness. Holding onto the wall for guidance she went as fast as she could towards his voice.
Suddenly it got a lot louder as she rounded a corner and caught a stream of light. When she got closer it looked like an outline of a door and the screams suddenly stopped.
"Shippo are u ok? I'm here." She couldn't seem to open the door so began banging on it. "The door won't open. Shippo! How do I get-ah!" She suddenly wasn't pounding on anything anymore. In the split second before her eyesight went white she saw Shippo wearing a smile that would make the Cheshire cat envious.
