I know i shouldn't really be starting another story but this one and another had been bugging me so i figured id get it out of the way so my muse will return interest in my other stories!

Vacation


Summery: YYH/IY X-over - Kagome is back in the future and has been for 3 years. Finally finishing High School her friends pose a trip she cant say no too.

Chapter 1
Graduation

Black caps thrown excitedly to the sky as cheerful screams of “Yeah!” and whistles were heard when the man on stage announced them as the graduating class of 01. Within the crowd of newly graduated 18 year olds stood a group of 3 girls. They stood near each other chatting excitedly about their future plans. They had all planned and saved for this all year and none of them could wait for what they knew was going to be the most fun they had together in their entire lives.


“I cant wait for Thursday! Just imagine this time next week we are all going to be lounging in the sun at some awesome beach, surrounded by the hot exotic locals. Or maybe well be at a dance club shaking it with some hunk!” Yuka exclaimed with starry eyes as she imagined what their cabana boy would look like.


“Yea it will be so much fun! And it was a great price too! Ayumi’s mother has a friend who a travel agent and got us all the tickets at wholesale price as a gift to Ayumi.” Eri said joining in the happy chat.


“Remember guys that you have to get all your papers together and make sure your passports all up to date. And pack a few bathing suits Yeah!” Ayumi stated the last part in a girlish squeal while joining the other 3 on their happy moment.


Kagome shakes her head at her friends antics before she smiles ‘I wanted a normal life and this is me jumping into it head first’ “And we cant forget our ass shaking pants!” she joined with a mild laugh of her own as she approached the now huddling 3 to join in the happiness.

In that same crowd across the room stood another group this one consisted of 2 males and one female. The brown hair girl and the black haired boy stood together arms wrapped around each other in an embrace as an orange haired stood beside them clapping with a goofy smile. It was almost surreal to the boys to be here now to have actually achieved this. Yusuke was the one who was most surprised having spent a few years in Makai and out of school he assumed that nothing he could have done would get him to this place.

What he did not expect ‘even though I should have’ was the determination that Keiko had to help him catch-up. He went to summer school, he went to school on the weekends. All that hard work paid off because now he was graduating with his fiancé and best friend.

“Oh Yusuke this is so great! I cant believe we all did it!” Keiko exclaimed as her arms tightened around his waist.


“Yeah and the promised vacation is also a plus! 2 weeks in a tropical island with no threat of youkai leering over our shoulders, Just fun in the sun.” Yusuke said to Keiko before turning to Kuwabara “and all the chicks in bikini’s” he finished whispering hoping Keiko could not hear him.

“YUSUKE YOU JERK” Keiko yelled as she lifted her hand and smacked him in the face sending him down to the ground. She turned and stormed out of the row to stand by herself in the back of gathering and away from Yusuke. ‘He can be so insensitive sometimes! Talking about looking at other girls on a trip that might end up with us actually being together! I cant believe I was going to give myself to him for the first time while we were there! What was I thinking?’ she thought with a huff even as the angry words rang throughout her head her love for the jerk never wavered. She knew Yusuke enough to know that is just how he is and he does not think before he speaks, but he would never betray her like that. She was confident in knowing he would never cheat on her because he loved her.


“Damn Keiko you hit harder then some of the youkai I fought” Yusuke said smiling while getting up and rubbing his abused cheek a red outline of Keiko’s hand visible. A frown replaced the smile as he watched Keiko storm away from him in an angry huff. ‘God I can be so stupid some times’ he thought as he closed his eyes tiredly. He loved Keiko and he was sure she loved him too. He knew that she wouldn’t take his talk to heart, but it still hurt her when he said things like that around her. ‘but I cant help it sometimes it just comes out.’

Actually he was a little afraid of going on this trip with her alone which was why when they discussed it they also discussed bringing a few friends with them. That was how Kuwabara and Kurama became apart of their plans.

Keiko did not care though she was a little put out, she was hoping it would be just them on this trip. A way for them to become closer, bonding time if you will. They had spent years away from each other and had a lot of time to make up for. The one thing that could ruin her good mood would be if Koenma showed up declaring Yusuke take back his position as Spirit Detective. ‘which wont happen now that Yusuke’s demon blood is no longer dormant.’

After the ceremony everyone left to celebrate on their own with their families. Kagome and the girls all going home to have a special dinner with their families then pack for vacation. Double checking all their papers to make sure everything was as it should be. As they all laid down to sleep that night one thing rang clear in each of their minds “Tahiti here we come!”


Once the ceremony was over Yusuke, Keiko, Kuwabara, and Shizuru all went to Keiko’s parents restaurant to have a celebration dinner meeting the rest of their families there. Mr. &Mrs. Yukimura had closed the restaurant down early especially for this event. They were so happy that Keiko graduated, this was one of the gifts they have given her the second being the trip she was going on in a few days.

“Mom, Dad were here” Keiko said as she walked into the restaurant Yusuke trailing right behind her. “Oh Atsuko, Kurama how are you?” Keiko asked as she spotted Yusuke mother sitting at the table chatting it up with Kurama.


Atsuko stood up from her seat spotting her son and with a teary smile she opened her arms to him as she approached him. “Yusuke I cant believe you did it! I am so proud of you son”


“Whoa there mom don’t cry it not that big of a deal.” Yusuke said hastily as he spotted his mothers shinning eyes tears nearly overflowing them. He took her hug and patted her back comfortingly. He was never any good when it came to crying woman and it made him feel uncomfortable.


Kurama watched the display with a smile “Yes a congratulations is in order. I think we all agree when I say none of us expected to see the day Yusuke graduates from high school.” the joke in his tone clear.


“Whadda u say?” Yusuke said to the kitsune fist waving in their air in mock threat.


“I was only stating fact Yusuke no need to be defensive” he stated hands raising in an attempt to look as if he was trying to placate him.


“Yeah Urameshi no one believed you could be smart enough to make it through high school!” Kuwabara stated loudly laughing at Yusuke as he spoke.


“Why you!” Yusuke said as he attempted to approach Kuwabara but was stopped by Keiko.


“Not here Yusuke. Wait until you go outside to pummel him.” Keiko said well aware of what their little disputes look like if allowed to escalate to that level. “Lets just sit, eat, spend time with our family and have fun we leave for Tahiti in a few days.”


Yusuke nodded taking a seat beside Kurama Keiko sitting beside him.


Kurama looked towards Keiko and Yusuke “Do you have any idea what you want to do on this trip? It would be productive to have an idea of the things you want to see while their, so we don’t end up coming home after a week of nothing but shopping and beach hopping. After all those are things that can be done here. I want to explore the tropical forests look for plants and what not that we don’t have access to here in Japan.”


“Figures you would want to spend your vacation looking for rare exotic plants.” Yusuke shook his head disappointedly. “You would think that a single male such as yourself would want to go and have fun with the ladies. When chicks go to places like this they almost expect to meet some guy for a vacation fling, and you with your pretty face would have no trouble picking up a girl.”


Kurama blushed lightly at the implication though he was in his past life been considered a very eligible bachelor. Everyone always assumed because he was such a famous bandit that he had loads of woman, and over the 3 thousand years he had been an adult he had acquired a high list of lovers. He did but they were spread over 3000 years so if one was to think about it that way it was not that much when it came down to it. And as a human of sorts he had not been with anyone yet. He has not met a human girl that could spark his interests and his blood at the same time.

Kurama knew he was in a difficult situation and those that knew him could scarcely understand what he was truly and these people had known him for years. The number of humans aware of the supernatural was low and he had probably meet them all already so he did not hold any hopes of finding a companion for his human life. There was also the fact that he was not human and would outlive any he chose to spend his life with, getting attached to someone that would die all to soon was not a pain he wanted much of. He pitied Yusuke because though he may not realize it but Keiko will grow old and die while he does not. He already knew that he would have to deal with the pain of losing his mother when the time came and would not want to feel that pain again. When his human friends die of old age he knew he would hurt, but it would be nothing compared to the pain he would feel if it was his wife. Because he knew without a doubt that any woman he chose to marry would be one he loved.


Kurama was right in his assumption of Yusuke not knowing about the fact that he would not age as Keiko does. Yusuke does not know much about youkai as far as demons go. While in the Makai he learned about controlling his instincts and what not, but nothing about mating and the problems of mating with humans.
