1 Fire
Thick, dense smoke arose from the isolated village. Houses burning to the worn ground. Chaos reigned supreme, the townsfolk crying out some in terror others the majority in pain. Fire spread throught the town reaching the barns filled with wheat and hay, incompassing them into the radiating heat. "Libahunt" rang out in the night in every area of the village awakening those that still slept. Many tried to escape towards the river hoping to swim it in an atempt to mask their scent.Enormus four-legged animals leaped out of the woods. Standing much taller than the average wolf as well as ten times stronger then its brethren. Razor sharp teeth coated in drool, glowing eyes turned watching for the next victim. Though many where already in the open still more hid in the woods catching many fleeing villagers in their deadly grasp. Tearing at the neck to be rewarded the arterial spray of blood or ripping through fatty tissue of the stomache to pull out organs either way worked to stop their prey in its steps. The braver townsmen tried to ban together hoping to take down at least some of the wolves. To fight instead of running brave as it was. It was also their folly, their fate was the worse dealt out teaching the others what would happen if they tried to team up.
The wolves taunted the villagers nipping at their heels, chasing them down before slowly picking them off one by one. The flames had now spread to the surrounding woods illuminating the scene of death and destruction. Bodies lay sprawled on the ground blood covering them from where a major artery was torn open. Limbs lay scattered about, chewed off and gnawed on before being abandoned for live game. The smell of burning flesh and hair mixing with the scent of fresh blood and wood. Not even animals had been spared as horses, cows, sheep, and dogs had been attacked, mutilated, ravished just as badly as the other beings had been. Screams of agongy filling the air, babies hollering scared and confused. Ashes where once was a house or store. Buildings that had yet to burn to the ground were painted in a bright red from the blood and gorging of the Libahunt. Yelling and screams of agony gave way a hint of what those already on the ground had gone through in their last minutes. Those trying to escape would constantly slip in the blood of one they knew or trip over the limb of a lost love one so bad was this carnage all it took was the Libahunt ten minutes before this town was almost completely gone.
A solitary figure made its way from the grisly sight of what once was his home. Carrying in his arms a bundle of blankets, and within it his child. His mate had been one of the first to be slayed in the blitz. And now he was badly injured, running for the sake of his child's life. From a pocekt he pulled his wife's necklace placing it on the small child so as to not forget it. He ran as fast as he injured state would allow carrying the child for what seemed an eternity through the woods, carefully dodging the Libahunt as he went. Blood continued leaking out of his right side. Another hour was all he had left he guessed. Smoke grew higher in the night sky blocking the stars and moon from view but giving light on a dead village. He was to die tonight but his child she would live on it was not her time to die, he pushed himself further his energy wanning with each step.
There. The stench of humans all would rather do without them but this time they would help save his precious daughter from the same fate all the other villagers had come to. The trees and bushes finally cleared bringing him onto more of a packed roadway the humans had traveled upon many times. The village of humans, now he had to go foreward with caution least he be caught. Steathfully he crept through their town til finaly finding what he sought. It rose up out of nowhere the splendor of it. Spiral towers, bricked walls, and colored glass windows depicting scenes of what humans claimed to have happen or they accomplished. Slowly he climbed the steps approaching massive oak doors with iron handles resembling the links of a chain. With utmost care he placed the child down infront of the doors, how it managed to slumber throughout this time would be a mystery but luckly sleep she did. Looking upon his daughter with feelings akin to remorse and love, he kissed her on the forehead before turning and fleeing back to his death. They wouldn't find her if he could help it.
Following the hard packed earth back into the woods he continued onwards. Grasping his sides now trying to staunch the flow of blood that had steadily increased in amount. He made his way gracefully as he could around trees and through a stream he didn't notice earlier. The cloying smell of the fire grew steadily thicker as he came closer. The fire had spread a good bit since his departure. Suddenly leaves crunched and twigs snapped. Glowing yellow eyes appeared from behind a berry bush. The man stared into the glowing orbs and they stared back. Without warning the creature leaped out from behind the bush. It's body much larger than the rest of the wolf like creatures, giving way to it's leadership. It's gappig maw open. Blood splattered across the grass, and a baby's fierce cries of hunger echoed inside of a city's abby.
