“Run Rin. This Sesshomaru will not tell you twice.” And with that he left into the darkness. She knew something was wrong, and was ready to question him, but she knew better. She heeded his warning and ran. She knew in her heart he would come back for her. She just didn’t know when. “I don’t know where to go my Lord,” she whispered to herself. She ran as far as she could, as fast as her legs would take her. Her lungs burned, her eyes watered, but she ran until she thought she couldn’t stand on her own anymore. She saw a cave and immediately hid inside, praying everything was alright, and did the only thing she knew she could. She waited.
::2 hours later::
Tap, tap. Her heart was pounding. Footsteps. She could hear someone walking towards her. She knew she had been waiting for a while, and she was nervous. Never scared, for her lord taught her better. Tap, tap. She could hear them even closer. The cave was so dark that she couldn’t see, but she closed her eyes anyway, hoping for the best.
“Rin? Are you alright, Rin?” She knew that voice and her heart swelled with joy. “I am here Master. Forgive Rin for Rin cannot see you. Did you fare well? Is Lord Sesshomaru hurt??” She was worried for him, but knew deep down he was alright. She just couldn’t help but ask.
“This Sesshomaru is fine. Let us continue our journey to the castle. We are only 2 days time away.”
“Yes My Lord.” It had been years since Sesshomaru resurrected her with Tensaiga, and she had grown. Yet she still followed him no matter where he’d go, refusing to stay in a village with out him. Her 20th birthday was coming, but she never mentioned her birthdays. The days of Naraku were over, and everyone seemed to be getting along, besides the consistent bickering of his younger brother Inuyasha. In her eyes, everything was perfect. Except for the constant ache in her heart.
“My Lord?” He stopped and the twitch in his ear was the only response of him listening. “Rin’s stomach aches. May I forage for food?” His response was brief and to the point. “Make haste, for this Sesshomaru is anxious to be home.”
Rin quickly departed to find herself some fruits and berries to snack on as their journey continued. Jaken stayed at the castle, which seemed pointless to her. He never stayed before. The servants seemed fine without their lord in the castle. She also noticed how jumpy her lord had been since they began their return trip from visiting Kaede. It was strange for they never visited her before. “My Lord seems to have a lot of things on his mind recently. I wonder what troubles him so..” she though to her self.

As Sesshomaru watched Rin go off to find food, his heart filled with anxiety. He had gone to see Kaede about mating Rin. He didn’t exactly know how to do it, for it was something he always thought that he would never need to know. Until he fell in love, that is. At first it was strange, a feeling he resented, until none of his books in his study could explain what he was feeling. He sought Kaede’s advice, and learned it was love that was taking over his heart.
His dear Rin. She had grown so much, and buried herself in his heart. He was anxious to get to the castle, because he wanted to mate her. He was tempted to wake her the other night, but kept control telling himself to wait until they reach the castle.
“My Rin..” Just the thought of her made him smile.
“AHHHHHHHHH!! HELP ME MY LORD!!”
Sesshomaru heard her scream and took off after her. He could smell her fear and his body trembled. “Why is everything coming after her? Can’t we just have a safe trip home??” he thought as he ran.

Rin was pinned against a tree as a red-eyed pissed off demon stalked towards her. He smelled like shit and Rin was petrified. “I am sorry!! This one didn’t mean to step on your tail!! My Lord!!??” Just as the creature lunged towards her, Sesshomaru’s mighty poison claws cut the air and obliterated the demon. “Rin is sorry My Lord!! Rin made a horrible mistake!!”
Sesshomaru sighed in relief as he turned to Rin as she sobbed her apologies. He couldn’t help but smile. She was so cute when she sobbed for nothing.
“Enough Rin. This Sesshomaru is going to transform. We will make haste to the castle for all these lower youkai are interfering with this Sesshomaru’s plans.” And with that, he transformed into the mighty dog demon that he was and took off with his beloved Rin on his shoulders.
