My New Home

This is my first story so I hope you like it

Chapter 1

In a time far beyond the one now was were two species lived together not in harmony or in peace but in total turmoil. Those two species where humans and demons two very different creatures in many ways. Humans lived their lives to the fullest of their strength, courage, love and happiness. Demons lived their lives to be powerful, strong and feared by both humans and demons alike however not all demons where like that.

Humans feared demons why demons despised humans and thought of them as worthless beings. Though their was one thing that demons actually feared about humans and that was falling in love with a human.

Their was once a very powerful demon by the name of Inutaisho who was the lord of the western lands. He had fallen in love with a mortal woman and had a son together which they named Inuyasha. As Inutaisho was a demon and his lover was a human their son was a hanyou but demons called them half-breeds. Demons despised hanyou’s thinking that they are weak because they have human blood running through their veins. Some humans thought of hanyou’s as misfortune and bad luck.

Inutaisho had another son before Inuyasha was born and that was Sesshomaru his eldest son. Sesshomaru was a full blooded demon because his mother was a demon also but she had died when Sesshomaru was still just a child. When he found out that his father had took a human as his mate he went against it. Sesshomaru had never accepted the mortal woman and her son Inuyasha even though he was his younger brother. He felt disgusted that his fathers blood ran through the half-breed.

Sesshomaru had blamed Inuyasha and his human mother for his fathers death when Inutaisho tried to protect them. Over the years Sesshomaru kept his distance from his half brother and the human woman. He soon heard that Inuyasha’s mother died from a deadly illness. The last he heard about Inuyasha was that he had been pinned to a tree by a priestess called Kikyo.

Soon after fifty years Inuyasha had been released by a young girl called Kagome who was Kikyo’s reincarnation. That year when Kagome had released Inuyasha from the tree of ages was the year that Sesshomaru had met her. A young girl that had helped him when he was terribly injured in the forest. Her name was Rin she was only eight years old and was a human girl, Sesshomaru was surprised that she wasn’t scared of him. A few days later when his wounds had healed he had smelled her scent not far away. When Sesshomaru followed the scent the young girl was covered in her blood and dead. Back at her village wolves had attacked and they had seemed to have gotten her.

Sesshomaru decided to test his sword tensaiga on her because it was the sword of heaven which was able to give life back. He was amazed when she opened her eyes and was breathing once again. After that day Rin had been following him ever since and Sesshomaru had alloweded her.

Many months had been since Rin started following her lord and Sesshomaru was surprised that she could always keep up. She would sometimes end up in some sort of trouble like being kidnapped or getting lost and other things. Even though those things happened Sesshomaru had always come to her rescue. Jaken Sesshomaru’s highly loyal servant always wondered why his master would keep a human with him. It bothered him when he would have to baby sit Rin when Sesshomaru walked of. He would always end up getting punished if something bad happened to her.

Not matter how much Jaken detested having Rin tag along with them he had no choice but to deal with it. Rin could tell that Jaken didn’t like having her around but she didn’t mind that as long as she was with Sesshomaru that makes her happy. She admired her lord a lot and hoped to always be with him.

When Rin had turned nine Sesshomaru had decided to go back home to his castle. Rin was very excited she had never seen Sesshomaru’s home before. Jaken had told her to be on her best behavior when they got their. All the servants back at the castle were all demons and none of them knew that their master was bringing back a human with him. They had no idea that Sesshomaru had allowed a human to follow him in the first place.

Jaken and talked to Sesshomaru about it and mentioned that maybe it would be wise to leave Rin in a human village. Of course Sesshomaru just ignored Jaken’s suggestion and him altogether. Sesshomaru had already thought about that and knew that his servants will not like the idea of having a human roam around in the castle. Knowing that he knew that Rin wouldn’t have a very warm welcome and that everyone who lived in the castle will make awful remarks because she’s human.

He would make sure to keep a close eye on his ward since she will be living in a castle full of demons. Sesshomaru would make sure to talk to all of them so no harm comes to her.

They were walking across a grass field when Rin started to see a castle in the distance. They were so close and the castle was getting bigger and bigger with each step Rin took. When they arrived it was incredible and beautiful. Their where gardens full of flowers and fountains and statues. Rin had never seen something so amazing in her entire life, Sesshomaru saw the look on his wards face and was glad that she liked the look of his home.

They walked up the stairs leading to the big front doors of the castle “welcome back my lord” the two guards said at the same time. They opened both doors for Sesshomaru, he walked in with Jaken and Rin following. The doors closed behind them and Rin was astounded how beautiful the inside looked as well. “Welcome to my home Rin” Sesshomaru said to her and he then walked on again.

They past many servants and they would all be bowing and saying ‘welcome back my lord’. Even though they had smelt the human with him they never said a word about it. Sesshomaru could tell how his servants would twitch their nose when they smelt Rin passing them. To demons they found humans scent terrible. Sesshomaru never had a problem with Rin’s scent since he had been around her for so long. Sesshomaru never thought that Rin’s scent was awful in any way which was quite confusing to believe.

Jaken had walked of since one of the servants had needed his service for something important. Sesshomaru entered his study with Rin still following behind him “Rin there is something you need to know since you will be living here” Sesshomaru looked at her. The young girl looked at him waiting for him to speak. “My servants will not take to you kindly since they dislike humans so stay out of their way when you can alright Rin” he told her. “Yes my lord I understand and I will do as you say” she replied with a big wide smile on her face.

Sesshomaru couldn’t understand how she could smile so fluent towards him it was as if she didn’t care what they thought. Rin then felt her lords hand on her head “and stay out of trouble” he told her “I will” Rin replied. Once their little talk was over Sesshomaru showed Rin where her chambers were. Sesshomaru decided to put her in a room which was two rooms down from his chambers. He knew that if her room was a bit close to his then he will be able to tell if she is in danger at all.

Once Rin was settled into her new room a young demonness had come in with several kimonos in her arms. When Rin saw the look on the woman’s face she just stayed quiet why then demon lady placed the kimonos in the cupboard. “Thank you” Rin said as the woman walked out of the room. Night had come so suddenly when Rin heard a knock on the door “who is it” she said in a quiet voice. “It’s Jaken you stupid girl I have come to tell you to get ready for dinner” and then he walked of. When Rin had first saw her bedroom she noticed a door and it led to her own private bathroom. Sesshomaru had told her that it is the room where she will washe up and clean herself.

Rin entered the lovely bathroom and ran herself a nice warm bath since their was no one to help her. Sesshomaru had quickly taught her what to do and which waters hot and which waters cold. She hopped into the big bath which was now filled with nice warm water and flower essence which was soothing for her skin. She washed her hair and just relaxed for a while it had been awhile since she last cleaned herself. Normally she had to do it in the river but this was much nicer.

Rin got out of the bath and dried herself with a nice fluffy white towel which was already in the bathroom. She walked back into the bedroom and saw that one of her kimonos was laying on the bed. It was a pretty pink one with white flower patterns running down the right side at the front. She felt the fabric and it was so nice and soft another knock was soon heard on the door “who is it”. The door slightly opened and a woman’s head popped through “I have been ordered to come here and help you change” the demon woman said. “Thank you very much” Rin replied when the maid walked towards her.

She grabbed the kimono and helped Rin into it after Rin was changed the maid then brushed her lovely brown hair and put a flower clip in it. The room was filled with silence since the woman didn’t want to talk to Rin. When she was told by Jaken to help Rin get ready for dinner she refused. Jaken and her were in an argument for at least five minutes until Jaken told her that if she doesn’t do it he will have to get lord Sesshomaru. The last thing she wanted to do was being punished by her master.

When Rin was finally ready the maid showed Rin where the dining room was since this was all new to the young girl. The doors opened and Rin saw her lord already sitting up at the large dinner table. It had so many chairs around it that she lost count as Sesshomaru was the lord of the western lands he must have quite a lot of guests come over.

When Sesshomaru saw Rin standing their in one of the beautiful new kimonos he had gotten her. To him she looked very lovely but of course he wouldn’t say that especially since many of his servants where around. “Rin come and sit” he told her, she walked over and sat down and the servants started bringing their dinner out. “You may eat now” and Rin started to chew on the delicious food in front of her. Sesshomaru took very slow in eating his meal since he never really eats. Though since Rin was sitting their with him he thought that if he ate then it would make her feel comfortable to eat as well.

Rin was happy that Sesshomaru was eating as well she felt a little nervous with all the servants eyes staring at her. This was the first time she had ever seen him eat since he never ate when they were on their journey. When dinner was finished all the servants headed back to the kitchen to clean up leaving Sesshomaru and Rin alone. The western lord looked at Rin from the corner of his eyes and watched her fiddle with her napkin. Even though she was only nine he knew that Rin would grow into a beautiful young lady.

Thinking about that worried him a bit since she will soon grow into the age when she will be able to have children. Just thinking about her being with another human angered him since he knew that no human male was suitable for her. Of course it will be her decision if she wants to get married and have children. Though now wasn’t the time to really worry about it since Rin was still just a child.

Rin soon realized that Sesshomaru was looking at her “is their something wrong lord Sesshomaru” she asked him a little concerned. “No Rin I am fine but I think it is time for you to go to bed” he told her. “Yes I am rather tied, good night my lord” and she hopped down and headed back to her chambers. That night she had a very peaceful sleep dreaming on how happy she will be living in her new home with lord Sesshomaru.

The next morning the bright sun was shining through Rin’s big glass windows which lead out onto her own balcony over looking the castle grounds. Rin didn’t want to get up so she put her pillow over her head. Normally when she was on her travels with Sesshomaru and Jaken she would always be up when the sun first came out. The bed was so comfortable she just wanted to sleep in a little more. Sesshomaru had told Jaken to get Rin but when he got to her room and started knocking on the door he was getting no answer. ‘Oh no if something happened to Rin I’m a dead toad’ Jaken thought to himself. He quickly opened the door and their in the big bed was Rin still sleeping.

“I cant believe this she had me worried over nothing” Jaken said to himself. He walked over to Rin’s bed and with one wallop with his staff on her mattress that deffiently woke Rin up. She yawned “good morning master Jaken” Rin said with a smile. “Rin you should have already been up, lord Sesshomaru wants to see you” Jaken told her. Hearing her lords name got her attention now, she was already up and getting ready.

Jaken was waiting outside her room why Rin was washing and changing, the door opened and Rin stepped out wearing a light purple kimono with yellow butterfly patterns on it. She had just brushed her hair and didn’t bother putting any clips in. Rin had a little trouble putting the kimono on by herself since the maid didn’t come and help her this time. Jaken had taken her outside and she saw Sesshomaru talking to someone. It was another demon of course and he looked a bit older than her lord. He had long blonde hair and four green stripes on his face two on his chin and one under each of his eyes. On his forehead was a black crescent which was the shape of a diamond ‘is he another lord’ Rin thought.

The demon looked at her when she was approaching with Jaken next to her. “So is this her lord Sesshomaru” the demon asked. “Yes, Rin I want you to meet lord Genju who rules the south” Sesshomaru told her. “It is nice to meet you” Rin said doing a little bow “and I you, I was surprised when lord Sesshomaru told me that he had allowed a human to live in his domain” Genju said. “Tell me Rin how do you find living here” he asked her, she looked up at him “I am very happy living here because then I can be with lord Sesshomaru” Rin replied. “I see well I am mostly amazed that a mere human girl can live in a place where she isn’t truly welcomed by everyone who to lives here” Genju then said. “That is enough lord Genju now if you please we have a few matters to discuss” Sesshomaru said. He was getting rather mad how Genju was making such remarks to his ward.

“Rin come” Sesshomaru told her so she followed him back inside the castle. Sesshomaru, Genju and Rin ended up in the lounge room. It was huge over a hundred could fit in it Rin thought, the paintings on the walls were exquisite. Sesshomaru sat on one lounge with Rin next to him and Genju sat on the one opposite them. “Now lord Sesshomaru about the reason why I am here I am hoping that you have considered my offer” Genju started to say. “To agree to such a term especially since I have never really thought about it is something that I have put a lot of thought into” Sesshomaru said. “I have decided that I will allow it but I can not guarantee you that it will happen” Sesshomaru told him. “Yes I understand but I am glad that you have accepted even if it isn’t official though” Genju replied.

Rin wasn’t sure what they were talking about and why Sesshomaru wanted her to listen to their conversation. She just kept quite through the whole thing why so many thought were running through her head. Wanting to know what was this agreement that they were making or what was the offer lord Genju had asked her lord. Soon Genju left and Rin was wondering if Sesshomaru was going to tell her anything. Though for some reason she didn’t really want to know because she knew that it might not be good.
