Is Naraku’s Last Curse a Blessing?

Summary- After Inuyasha, Kagome and the other’s defeated Naraku they realized it was over the adventure was at an end. All were pleased but Inuyasha and Kagome would they be able to stay together? To Kagome’s surprise the Jewel left her hand and went up toward the sky. Then they heard it! Naraku’s laugh. With his final bit of energy he tossed the Jewel as far from Kagome as he could. With his last breath says “I curse you to this world forever. I take with me your power to see the Jewel.” Kagome felt something leave her as she watched Naraku fade into nothingness. Will she really be trapped in the past? With out at least a shard form the jewel she could never get back.

Ch1- Inuyasha’s Surprise? then gone?

A year has passed since Naraku’s defeat and still no jewel. Yet a lot has happened Miroku and Sango got married and are expecting their first kid. Shippo was now a ‘defender of the weak’ as he put it. Kohaku went to a northern temple to study to be a scholar. Sesshomaru left his hanyou brother alone and left to reclaim his fathers territory from a kin member, Rin went with him of course, followed by Jaken. All that was left was Inuyasha (about 18 in human years) and Kagome (who is now 17). Inuyasha still traveled with her to find the Jewel (still claiming he wanted to be a full demon, but by this point they all say ‘YEAH RIGHT‘). The other’s were helping but Miroku had to take care of Sango now that she was with child, Shippo went with Kohaku, so it was mainly just Inu and her. Kagome missed her family but she was happy that she got to be with Inuyasha awhile longer.

“HEY, KAGOME!!!!!!!!!” yelled Inuyasha. She saw him running toward her, which was a little strange b/c she was by Kaede’s door. “Umm…Kagome would you…umm...come with me for I minute?” well that not only put Kagome in shock but the whole gang was there right behind Inu, it wasn‘t what he asked but how he asked it, like a little boy talking to his first crush. She nodded as she followed him to the woods. She looked about and realized this was the opposite way to the bone-eaters well and the god tree. “Where are we going Inu…?” her sentence faded off at the sight of a house much like her’s but without the modern convinces. “Inu…what?...how?” she said in awe. The others followed and could not hide their astonishment. So Inu and Kagome knew they were there. “Well do you like it?” he asked with a little worry in his tone. “I love it!” she exclaimed.

Inu now as happy as a pup told her about the house. How he put all the things he thought she would need, and at the very end he explained why it was away from the well and surrounded by trees. “You see if the trees are all around it will be harder to find and I can keep watch in them. And because it’s not by the well or the god tree demons wont think to look here. And it’s still close to the village so help wont be that far away but you wont need it with me around.” he smirked proud of himself. Kagome could see he tried his hardest to make it like her home, this alone make her smile. After she examined the place she had to ask “Where in the world did you get these kimonos, sheets, and decorations even jewelry? They are so beautiful! But they look as if the richest lord could never buy them.” “They were my mother’s things from my ol’ man. I thought you should have them. She would want would want some one as pure and as gentle as you to have them.” he said with a blush as he realized the last thing he said. “Inu…ya…sha…Thank you.” she said in away that made Inu blush even more.

6 months later
Inuyasha started to believe that life was perfect ‘No more Naraku, Sesshomaru, and Kikyo. Ki…ky…o I will always love you but I could never trust you, but I love and trust Kagome.’ Inuyasha thought to himself as he looked in the window to his sleeping love, so peaceful. “Something still is missing, I know I’ll go ask Miroku in the morning maybe he’ll know or Sango she knew Kagome better then any one. Any one but me.” he said out loud still watching his love.

He started to realize that Kagome missed her family but was still as happy as ever with him, maybe even more. This made him sad but he was happy to know he made her so happy. In that moment, in that thought, he knew what he had to do. He sniffed the air to make sure that no youkai were near then left his spot, found Shippo who just got back and made him promise that he and Kirara would watch over Kagome. When he know that Shippo really understood (meaning Shippo got some new bruises) he jumped into the air and was gone.

“WHERE IS HE!!!” yelled a scared and angry voice. Shippo being the one who saw him last hid behind Miroku and he hid behind Sango. “Shippo tell us what he said to you.” Sango said in a gentle voice understanding how her best friend must feel. They all knew how close the two had become. Inuyasha no longer blushed when Kagome held onto his arm or rested her head on him if fact they were to the point that it seemed that they were engaged. “He said… he’d be back… in 4 days…and that Kagome was supposed to meet him by the god tree an hour before sunset.” Shippo as well as everybody else near by started to calm as it seemed Kagome had. She turn to face away from everyone and yelled “WWWHHHEEERRREEE AAARRRRREEEEE YYYYYOOOOOOUUUUUUU?!?!?!” At the same time of her yell; Inuyasha sitting on a rock shot start up. “What’s wrong master?” Myoga asked. “Nothing I just…I think I just heard Kagome yell at me.” “Don’t be silly master she is miles away there is no way.” “Guess your right.” Inu sat back down and look into the cave behind him. “Are you done in there? I have to leave tomorrow at midday or I’ll be late to meet Kagome.” Inu said more bored then anything else. “It will be ready tomorrow morning.“ said a not to pleased ol’ man. “You do realize I am a sword maker right?” said the ol’ man ”What was that?!” yelled Inu. When the ol’ man did not respond Inuyasha decided to take a nap.
