The Floating Island of Hidden Illusion
Summary: The battle against Naraku causes Kagome to lose everything dear in her life. Her wish to destroy the Shikon jewel fails and now she must accomplish a new mission, with Kouga’s unwanted assistance. What will her future hold? Kagome/Kouga Romance/Lemon
~*~ Reminiscing ~*~
The full moon shone brightly that night, along with a wide sky filled with glittering stars. Although one star in particular that night gleamed brighter than the sun itself. Kagome couldn’t take her eyes off it- it was a wishing star.
“I wish I could do it all over again.”
Tears began to well in her eyes, and she dropped her head slowly. She knew that there was nothing she could do about it now. It was too late.
As she began to cry softly to herself, she thought about that final battle over and over in her head.
…….Several Weeks Earlier…..
Sango, Miroku, Shippo and Kirara sat around a blazing fire with an abundance of fish-on-a-stick cooking around the fire.
Sango peered around the camp- “I wonder where Kagome and Inuyasha are, the fish are finally ready?”
Miroku pulled a stick from the ground and waited for his fish to cool. “Kagome said they were going for a walk.” He paused and took a bite out of the fish. “Those two have come a long way….I’m glad we were able to knock some sense into them.”
“Especially Inuyasha!” – Shippo added. “If he doesn’t show up soon, I’m having his fish. –Mew- I’ll share with you too Kirara.”
Sango also pulled a stick from the ground. “Well Miroku, ever since you and Inuyasha had that guy talk, him and Kagome have gotten a lot closer and both of them have been a lot happier.”
Suddenly Miroku leaned over. “Well my dear Sango, would YOU like to go take a special walk with me?”
* WHACK *
“A walk would have been fine, but your loose hands are not welcomed.” She stated bluntly.
….A little ways outside camp….
Kagome and Inuyasha sat side-by-side, over a smooth bolder that barely hung over a clear river. Kagome suddenly stripped her shoes and let her legs dangle in the river below. “The cold water feels so good over my aching feet. Ummm…”
Inuyasha glanced over at the sound of her moan. ‘She looks so beautiful in the moonlight.’ He could feel as a flood of sudden peace swept over her, and the look of satisfaction on her face proved him right.
“Hey Inuyasha.”
“Hmm?”
As her soft auburn eyes looked directly into his she stated, “Are you happy with me?”
“That’s a stupid question.” He suddenly began to see that contentment melt away and jumped to finish his statement. “If I wasn’t happy with you I wouldn’t be here right now.” He softly took her hand into his. “I am happy to see you fall asleep every night, to see your smile in the morning, and I love to hold you in my arms.”
Then he suddenly pulled her across his lap and softly kissed her. As they broke apart and gazed into each other’s eyes, she smiled and returned his kiss. They continued to let the passion flow between them as the kisses became a little longer and a little more forceful.
Until a loud growl interrupted quality time.
Inuyasha put his hand on Tessaiga, and looked around carefully but could not sense or feel anything nearby. Then he suddenly looked into his girlfriend’s eyes.
“I’m a little hungry.” She smiled innocently.
A wide grin swept across his face. “The food smells ready, and its getting late- lets go back to camp.”
She put on her shoes and stood up. Then Inuyasha and Kagome walked hand in hand towards their friends.
“Hey Kagome, you want to know what I like the best about you?”
“Yes”
“When you make me Ramen Noodles.”
“Sit”
