Chapter One
Miroku frowned when he felt the presence of a strong youkai aproching. He looked over to see InuYasha tensed up, looking paler then ususal.
“Is everything alright InuYasha?” asked the monk.
Sango, Shippo and Kagome also looked at InuYasha, who was looking directly in one place. A sudden movement and someone was suddenly standing behind InuYasha, resting their chin on his head between his doggy ears and hands just placed limply on InuYasha’s hips.
“Hello little InuYasha. Would you happen to know where Sesshoumaru might be? I’m looking for him.”
InuYasha moved forward and scratched at the taller youkai, claws extended.
“What are you doing here!” asked InuYasha.
“I told you, I’m looking for your brother. Say, you sure changed since I last saw you.”
“And when was that?” asked InuYasha, taking out his Tetseigua.
The others could only look at the stranger who was talking to InuYasha as if he knew the hanyou his whole life. The stranger was tall and had long ebony hair, which reached his waist and they were tied almost completly with a black leather thing that kept it in place and away from his face, except for his bangs, which fell directly in his face. He had very pale skin that seemed to be kept away from the sun, but it was clear that it wasn’t the case. His clothes were black satin and very simple, almost looking to be too big for him. And his eyes were of a very pale grey, looking pure ice.
“About fifteen years ago.....when you were still stuck to that three,” answered the youkai, smirking.
InuYasha growled and tried to claw the youkai again, who frowned at him and took hold of both of the hanyou’s wrist in one hand in an almost invisible movement.
“What is the matter with you InuYasha? I know you don’t like your brother, but you don’t need to take it out on me.”
“Let me go! And where were you for the last fifteen years?” asked InuYasha as soon as the youkai let go of him.
“On the main land. Why? Was there something you needed me for?”
“No! I’m not a pup anymore! I can deal with my problems myself!” shouted angrily InuYasha, surprising his friends.
The youkai smiled gently and nodded.
“If you say so. I see you’ve found the Tetseigua. Did Sesshoumaru help you?” teased the youkai.
InuYasha turned his back to the black-haired youkai, crossing his arms over his chest. The youkai chuckled and shook his head gently.
“You might claim not to be, but you do still act much like a pup. Hmm, speaking of pups, they are late.”
InuYasha looked over his shoulder to see the youkai looking over at the forest. A few seconds later two figures came out, rolling around on the ground fighting. The youkai frowned, clearly not happy about what was going on. His nails started glowing and he sent some ice projectiles to the two. A second before the ice was about to hit, the two figures looked up, the figure with blonde hair over the one with deep grey hair that almost looked black but wasn’t, and both jumped away from each other.
“What was that for?” asked the blonde, tilting his head on the side.
“Had you two rolled over into the wrong clearing, I would have had to pick up your dead corpses from the ground. What is the meaning of this?” asked coldly the youkai.
Both bowed their heads, clearly embarrased.
“Please pardon us father, we did not mean to be careless. We let ourselves be foolish again,” said the one with the grey hair, shoulders dropping.
“It was my fault father, I provoked him,” said the blonde, bitting his botom lip.
InuYasha could only look at the two with wide eyes. The blonde was clearly a miko, and a teenager at that. He couldn’t have been any older then sixteen. As for the other one, he was a pure youkai, and he was definetly the same age as the blonde. It surprised InuYasha to see the young youkai with the older one, youkais usually leaving their youngs when they reached the age of ten.
“Yamasso...who are these?” couldn’t help himself to ask InuYasha.
The black-haired youkai, Yamasso looked over at InuYasha before looking back at the two pups, which was what he saw them as still.
“My son Shetaro and my adopted son Frewin.”
“And, how old are they?”
Yamasso smiled to InuYasha.
“Both are fifteen. I found Frewin ten years ago and took him in when I saw his potential.”
“And what kind of potential could a demon see in a human?” asked Sango, suspicious.
The youkai looked over at her and smiled gently.
“Demon slayer, am I correct? Youkais do need human assistance on occasion for certain labors. Seeing as I came from a pack, I felt the need to provide my son with a companion as he grew up, and I know Frewin will be a good warior if he is ever needed to be. He’s quite the fighter already. Not many can have childish disputes like they do if not strong enough to withstand Shetaro’s natural strength.”
InuYasha saw Frewin smile, but it was erased by Yamasso’s next words.
“But it still does not mean they have the right to do those childish fights. Do you know where your brother is? I truly need to speak with him.”
InuYasha relaxed considerably before throwing his arms over his head in defeat.
“How should I know! He’s always on the move. Didn’t you check at his castle?”
“First place I went to. It’s keepers told me he hasn’t been there in a few months. I thought you might know when I smelled you. Guess I was wrong.”
The two pups snickered, making Yamasso glare over at them before smirking, which they didn’t see. The youkai turned to InuYasha.
“Would it bother you to keep an eye on my sons? They know next to nothing about the dangers of Japan and they don’t seem to realise it is even more dangerous then the main land. It would pain me to find them dead when I scout ahead to see if there is any trouble. Not to mention you could teach them a thing or two.”
