Return To The Feudal Era

A/N: This is the sequel to Take My Breath Away. Hope you enjoy the second part to the story, oh and to those of you who may be wondering, yes this is my story thank you! Anyways, I do not own Inuyasha so there!

Inuyasha’s amber eyes glistened with unshed tears as he followed Kikyo down into the fiery depths of Hell. He silently cursed himself for ever being so foolish as to leave behind the one woman he truly loved. Now he was forever destined to remain in Hell with the very woman that had tried to kill him on more than one occasion. Kikyo turned to face the hanyhanyou to see the scowl that was etched onto his handsome face. “Is something wrong Inuyasha?”

“I’m in Hell with you and I’ll never see Kagome again, but no I’m perfect!” She smirked at his outburst.

“Do not be angry with me Inuyasha because it was you who made the promise to follow me to Hell.”

“That was before I fell in love with Kagome!”

“You don’t love that girl Inuyasha, your heart still belongs to me.”

“No Kikyot ant anymore and it hasn’t for a long time.”

“Don’t kid yourself! I am the only woman you have ever loved!”

“Untimet met Kagome and then she made me forget all about you.” Kikyo clenched her fists tightly making her knuckles turn white.

“Damn you Inuyasha! Must you always be so cruel to me?”

“It’s just the way that you treat me so I’m simply returning the favor.” Kikyo and Inuyasha fell silent when they came to a large black fortress surrounded by a lake of molten lava. Two large guards grabbed them from behind quickly. They were large and strong their bodies made completely out of hardened magma.

The guards carried large spears in one hand and wore spiked collars around their thick necks. They walked right through the lake of boiling molten lava seemingly unaffected by it. Kikyo and Inuyasha were carried right into the throne room of the large palace. A large muscular man with red scaly looking skin was sitting in a large black throne with a very high back. “I see that you have arrived Kikyo?”

“Who are you? And how do you know my name?”

“I am Hades lord of Hell and all the underworld. I’ve been expecting you my dear. Who is your companion you’ve brought with you?” Inuyasha spoke up for himself before Kikyo could make up a lie as to why he was here.

“My name is Inuyasha.”

“What is your relationship to Kikyo?”

“I was in love with her at one time.”

“And now?”

“I despise her.”

“Why you you brought him here Kikyo?”

“Because Inuyasha owned me his life so he promised to come to Hell with me when the Shikon No Tama was completed.” Hades frowned at her response.

“We shall just see how true your words are Kikyo.” The dark lord then stood and approached Inuyasha. He placed his scaly hands on eithide ide of Inuyasha’s head. Closing his crimson colored eyes he concentrated and was able to see Inuyasha’s memories.

After Hades had seen all he needed to see he released his hold on Inuyasha. “I have seen your deceitful actions through Inuyasha’s memories Kikyo. You tried to kill him and a young woman by the name of Kagome numerous times. This girl Kagome was the woman that Inuyasha loved and you forced him to leave her behind. For that you shall be punished.”

“What kind of punishment?”

“First I shall force you to watch me send Inuyasha back among the living where he belongs. And then you shall be forced everyday to watch him live out a happy life with Kagome through the mirror of time.” Kikyo winced at the thought of having to watch Inuyasha spend his life with her reincarnation.

Hades ordered the guard that held Inuyasha captive to release him. Inuyasha was released and Hades led him to the mouth of Hell. “This is the gateway back to earth and you are now permitted to walk through it Inuyasha.”

“Thank you.” Hades nodded and turned toyo tyo to see that her pretty face was twisted into a bitter scowl.

“Have you any last words to say Kikyo?”

“Damn you Inuyasha and may your life with Kagome be miserable!” Inuyasha smirked at Kikyo’s venomous reply but said nothing in return as he turned and walked through Hell’s gateway.

He was taken quickly back to earth and returned to the spot where he and Kagome had first met. His amber eyes misted over when they looked up at the ancient Goshinboku tree. “I’m home Kagome and finally free to give all of my heart and soul to only you.” The hanyou finally allowed himself to genuinely smile. This was the first time in a long time that he had felt truly happy enough to smile.

The sun was quickly setting so Inuyasha decided to head to the bone eater’s well. He ran as fast as his feet could carry him until he came upon the old well. Inuyasha prepared to leap into the well to reunite with Kagome but was thrown back by something as soon as he made contact with the well. He narrowed his amber eyes when he saw the bright white glowing light of a barrier appear around the well.

“What the hell? There’s a barrier surrounding the well! How am I supposed to tell Kagome that we can raise our child together now if I can’t even get back to where she is?” After several more failed attempts Inuyasha slumped down against a nearby tree. He hung his head and allowed his tears to fall freely. He was now a free man and even now it was as if fate were conspiring against him to keep him from being with Kagome.

He had to figure out how to break the barrier around the well but he had to rest first. Heading deep into the forest that shared his name he found a cave to seek shelter in for the night. Inuyasha curled up for the night and drifted off to dream about his reunion with Kagome.
