Treasure
A/N: In a bout of insomnia and just plain feeling down, i came up w/ this.
It's terrible, but please review anyway just to make me happy.
The song is called "Treasure" by my fave band, The Cure (i luv u robert)
The extremely short song, in it's entirety is written in italics.
Fic is in Sess's POV

In her prime, she had confessed her love to him. But what of it now?
Did she feel the same? But what of it now. Does it even matter?
Leaning back against a tree, he looked down into her eyes—eyes that once
shone with the vitality of the brightest star in the night sky, but now only
flickered with the dimness of a star about to disappear with the coming of
dawn.
With his only arm, he gripped her tighter as she lay across his lap, head
resting against the nook of his arm.
She whispers, “Please remember me when I am gone from here.”
He knows he can never forget her—the way she clung to him for protection.
How he wished he had another arm, another hand whose fingers can caress
her face, whose thumb can touch her lips. Her lips, if only he had kissed
he>tha>that time. If only he had confessed to her as well.
She whispers, “Please remember me, but not with tears…”
Tears of regret. He could feel them now about to overwhelm him. If only
he had done something when he saw her tears—how genuine her love for
him had been when she shhosehose tears knowing that he would never
reciprocate her feelings. If only he had let her go when he became aware
of her feelings. But would she have left him? No.
“Remember I was always true.”
Yes, she was always true to him. She kept her promise to stay by his side.
It was a foolish promise of a young child. He never held her to that promise—
never thought that she would keep it ‘til the end.
“Remember that I always tried.”
But he never did. He never tried to show her, to tell her, to let her know how
he longed for her. He only tried to hide himself, to restrain himself from
doing what his heart, his body, and his soul wanted him to do. To kiss her,
to hold her, to fondle her full breasts and suckle her nipples like pup.
“Remember I loved only you.”
A love he would now have gladly given to her—to make love to her the way
he as always done in his head…his fingers through her hair, his tongue
lapping her juices, his sex deeply imbedded within her.
“Remember me and smile.”
Her smile—forever ingrained in his memory. He longed to see that smile
again—that same smile he had seen so long ago. A smile that had slowly
faded into sadness since that day.
“For it’s better to forget, than to remember me and cry.”
He could no longer restrain himself. He needed an outlet to mounting
pain. Before it was too late, he needed to let her know. He leaned down
and pressed his lips onto hers. Her lips, once full and moist was now
wrinkled and dry, but he did not mind. He wanted her to understand that
he had loved her, that it hadn’t been a one way, unrequited love. He
deepened the kiss and could feel her returning the effort. He felt she
understood his feelings. Underneath his lips, he felt her curve her lips into
a smile—the smile he could now see in his head without leaning away from
her. He continued to embrace her in that kiss as she continued to smile and
felt her finally breaking away from him as she gasped her last breath. He
held her tighter, pressing his cheek against her cheek as her final words
rang in his mind,
“Remember I was always true. Remember that I always tried. Remember I loved only you.
Remember me and smile…for it’s better to forget, than to remember me and cry.”
