Chapter 9 – Finally, Sango and Miroku
Sango sat beside Miroku’s body all night praying to the Gods to spare his life. The little game they play with him grabbing her butt or flirting with other women was just that; a game. Deep down she knew that she really did love him. The thing that depressed her now was that she couldn’t tell him so. She sat watching his face squint, his eyes fluttering behind his eyelids. What was he dreaming about? Sango smirked a little; based on their last encounter it wouldn’t surprise her if he was dreaming about her. Sango’s grief was starting to overcome her. She sat by his side all night, believing that her frustrations and fears about his condition would keep her awake, but somewhere she fell asleep and didn’t even notice both Kaeda and Kagome checking in on them. She awoke sometime midday feeling physically refreshed but mentally she was still upset. He was still unconscious and it looked as if he hadn’t moved all night. As much as she knew that her complaints about his lechery were just fun and games, what if he didn’t? She started to cry. As the hot tears rolled down her cheeks she let her fingers wander across his body. As she pulled back the blanket that covered him, her hands gently glided down his sides. She never really considered how muscular Miroku was. He pretty much wore his monk robes all the time. Their outward flow and baggy style never allowed anything to the imagination. His body was warm, but not feverish, a good sign that the herbs and medications were working. As she brought her fingers up to his face, she was reminded of the softness of his lips when she was trying desperately to get him to breath. Lightly she let her lips glide across his. She closed her eyes and opened up her thoughts to her inner most fantasies about her and him. The devilish streak flashed through her mind as she realized that she could take advantage of the situation and act on her fantasies without anyone knowing. Her kisses came across his face and down his neck. His skin was so warm and smooth. Being on him release a sense of closeness that she’s never felt before and she was dizzy with intoxication from it. Sango’s tongue glided down his body heading towards his penis. Her hands worked idling on his manhood and she was just about to take his penis into her mouth when she heard his voice weakly calling to her. Sango glanced up in horror to find Miroku staring at her. The look on his face was a combination of pleasure and shock. Without a word she jumped up and ran out of his hut. Miroku smirked and laid back down. Either it be a dream or a strange occurrence, he figured that he’d get an explanation later. He closed his eyes and drifted back to sleep.
A couple of days had past since the incident in the wooded area near the beautiful flowered spring. Kagome and Inuyasha were still gone beyond the well to her era. Miroku and Sango stayed in Kaeda’s village to allow him more time to recuperate. Feeling confident that Miroku would be alright under Sango’s care, Shippo and Kaeda left to following the villagers to the nearby villages they visited for more supplies.
For those few days, Sango walked around in a guilt-ridden fog unable to forgive herself about the way she’d treated Miroku. Yes he can be a lecherous beast of a man, but still it’s secondary to all of the good and positive things that he’s done. But even more so, she walked around embarrassed at what he woke up and found her doing. Despite the fact that he hadn’t approached her about it and possibly thought it was a dream, she didn’t want to take the chance.
She walked beyond the village to a small clearing a few meters shy of the hot springs. Miroku was there seated near a tree, meditating. He didn’t stir with the sounds of her approach. She figured that with the majority of the villagers away, this was the best time to talk to him in a private setting.
“Come to see how I was doing?” he asked softly. He didn’t open his eyes figuring that it was Sango.
“Uh Yes.” She was fearful that her facial blushing was evident in her speech. “Are you feeling better today?” For the first time, Sango decided to do the smart thing and sit across from him instead of next to him and his wandering hands.
A light breeze blew past Sango picking up her sweet scent of Orchid and Jasmine. Miroku inhaled deeply before he opened his eyes. Smelling her perfume enlightened his memories of waking up with her on top of him. He didn’t look directly at her but off in the distance of the area. The thoughts in his head were already sparking his arousal and he was trying hard to ignore it. “Well, I still have a headache and I’m a little dizzy at times, but I’m fine.” He smirked, “Nothing like Kaeda’s herbs and your company to make me feel better.”
Sango wanted to smile with him, but she was still trapped in her thoughts. Finally without warning she burst into tears. Miroku frowned and immediately moved to sit beside her. “Sango, what’s wrong?”
His voice was low and comforting. Sango buried her face into his chest. She was overcome with the thoughts that he could’ve died without her ever telling him how she truly felt. She’s lost so much in the past couple of months, that she couldn’t bear losing another person. As she tried to clear her mind and gather herself, suddenly she felt a hand stroking her butt. She growled and was about to slap him again but this time decided differently. She peered up and Miroku’s face. He was prepared for her to slap him, but she put her arm behind his neck and kissed him. It surprised him and he almost pulled away from her, but slowly he put his arms around her and caressed her. He removed his hand from her butt and stroked her hair. Sango let her fingers caress his skin and run through the smooth patch of his hair. She really didn’t want to let go of him as his embrace was more than comforting, but peaceful. Finally she let go hoping that he wouldn’t assume her to be too forward. Sango sat back and looked into his eyes. His expression was one of shock and surprise of her forwardness, but also they were deep and charismatic. She began to blush like a young schoolgirl. Understanding that his gaze was making her feel uneasy, Miroku looked away with a smile. “What brought that on?”
Sango finally got herself together and sat across from him again. “You have no idea the hell you put me through these past couple of days.” Miroku straighten up, surprised at her sudden change in attitude.
“The nerve of you getting yourself hurt like that, why I almost thought that you were going to die on me.”
“But I didn’t, I’m fine now.”
“How can you take this so lightly? I couldn’t stand it if I lost…if something happened to you.” Sango’s mind raced. Forgetting all that she was embarrassed about, she did truly care about Miroku. So much so that she was starting to feed into her inner most thoughts of giving herself to him…and yeh, perhaps bearing his children.
“Oh Sango, I understand fully…” She smiled as he placed his hands on her shoulders. She slowly leaned in expecting him to kiss her. She started playing out the scenes in her head of them making love there in the clearing. “You just can’t resist my charm.”
“eehh?” Sango swallowed hard.
“I mean that’s why you couldn’t keep you’re your hands off me while I was out. And that’s why I’m so popular with the ladies…”
Suddenly Sango’s smile turned to flames and out of nowhere her fist was flying. It connected with his face, “You Jackass!” She punched him so hard it spun him around to where he was face down in the dirt.
Sango got up and storm off back towards the village. This time she didn’t care if she killed him.
