style='font-size:22.0pt'>Well, I wrote another chapter!style='mso-spacerun:yes'> Much on the mild compared to the previous,
but hey, I have to have plot at some point, right?

style='font-size:22.0pt'>

style='font-size:22.0pt'>ColShaLin-yeah, it was a new and interesting
challenge for me. I really felt like class=SpellE>Kouga
could turn to his friends, but he’d cop out in the
end, definitely. Miroku
has to be the one to ‘save him’ or it’s no fun!
But there will be lots of fun drama on the way, I’m sure!style='mso-spacerun:yes'> Well, the best laid plans, you know.

style='font-size:22.0pt'>

style='font-size:22.0pt'>Kogas Hentai class=SpellE>Luver- Thanks. Come
to think of it, that chapter DID take longer than usual!style='mso-spacerun:yes'> And thanks for the names, for future
use. For JTTOU I’ll stick to the names I
used in the last chapter just for sake of consistency, and because it really
doesn’t matter who they are, for all intents and purposes, but class=SpellE>yay! I seriously
couldn’t remember their names at all, but I recognize “Ginta
and Hakkaku” so I must have known them at some
point. Ah well, I know them now, and
that’s all that matters.

style='font-size:22.0pt'>

style='font-size:22.0pt'>Lease- Hah, yeah, he really does.style='mso-spacerun:yes'> Alas, things are rarely that simple. *haloclass=GramE>* I’m glad you’re
hooked though. Read more! It feels good
to know I’m not wasting my breath with the word-weaving.

style='font-size:22.0pt'>

style='font-size:22.0pt'>Layla- Kouga IS
sweet, but don’t let him hear you say that!
He’ll get all indignant and huffy.
And wait no more! It’s here. Wootclass=GramE>.

“Hoshi-samaa!”
the girl cried out, her vaginal walls clamping hard onto the monk’s swollen
shaft, sending ripples of pleasure through his body.style='mso-spacerun:yes'>
The burning sensation that had been building
between his pistoning hips flooded through him and he
moaned out his pleasure as his seed spilled deep into his temporary lover’s
body before collapsing beside her.

In the morning, he would
leave her with sweet words and promises that both knew would never bulfiulfilled. She’d told him her name, but
he didn’t remember it, neither did she know his.

As she curled into his side
to sleep, he promised himself, just this once, he would stay until
morning. He tried to be a good man, an
honest man, but he was only a man, and he needed release—release from his body,
the hard road he traveled, the guilt on his shoulders, the curse on his right
hand.

He liftedstyle='mso-spacerun:yes'> the accursed hand to stare at the
gaping hole he knew lay beyond the prayer beads and dark cloth.style='mso-spacerun:yes'> He could feel the impatient wind siphoning,
always, and the road to Naraku was long and tedious.

He brushed a few strands of
hair gently from the beautiful woman’s face.
‘Maybe this time,’ he thought, soul weary, ‘maybe
this woman will be the one to bear my child, surely he would be a beautiful
man.’ Miroku
sighed softly. He was desperate for a
son. He needed a son to defeat class=SpellE>Naraku
if he failed, but more than that, he wanted someone
to love, not the temporary love he felt for the women who made room for him in
their beds, but a deep love that was daily, traveling from moment to moment,
growing larger and larger until it was too much to bear—a burning love.style='mso-spacerun:yes'> Deeply, and without reservations, he wanted
it, a love that wasn’t about the body.

*~*~*

Shi’enstyle='font-size:22.0pt'> pushed the water through his hair.style='mso-spacerun:yes'> It had been weeks now, and his throat still
hurt from sobbing. He’d been exiled; if
he ran into any of his people out here, he would probably be killed.style='mso-spacerun:yes'> Kouga had left him
for that dirty human, his father had disowned him, all
he had now was Ananda, his cobra, and his two jewel
shards, which he kept getting attacked for.
And the kicker, the real bitch thing about it, was that if class=SpellE>Kouga was just here with him, he wouldn’t give a damn; if class=SpellE>Kouga was here it would be fine.

Silent tears streamed down
his face, burning venom patches into the wild grasses beneath him.style='mso-spacerun:yes'>
Kouga,” he rasped
out. Kouga was
with that human, being touched by that dirty human, fucked by that dirty,
gods-forsaken human, and he was liking it, probably
begging for it. He choked, nearly
vomiting every time he got a mental image of the two, of Kouga
showing the human a passion Shi’en never got to
see. ‘Yes, do it to me class=SpellE>Miroku. I want it class=SpellE>Miroku. It feels so
good Miroku.
Fuck me harder, Miroku.style='mso-spacerun:yes'> Miroku I love
you. Miroku class=SpellE>Miroku Miroku!’style='mso-spacerun:yes'> Shi’en could
imagine it and couldn’t stand it.

Kouga,”
he cried. “I loved you, you class=SpellE>basstard
. Even now,
I sstill…Why aren’t you with me?style='mso-spacerun:yes'> Why don’t you style='mso-bidi-font-style:normal'>remember me?!”

It had been ninety years ago,
a short time for many youkai, and Shi’en
had still been a youngling, Kouga no more than a
cub. The viper, at that time was small,
without much courage, and a bit clumsy.
He’d fallen into a ditch and was being picked on by a pair of cat class=SpellE>youkai
a bit older than he was and twice his size.style='mso-spacerun:yes'> He’d gotten separated from class=SpellE>Nam’wa and his older brother and was frightened.style='mso-spacerun:yes'> When he tried to climb out of the ditch, he
was knocked right back inside by his tormentors.style='mso-spacerun:yes'> He covered his head with his hands and thought,
ssomeone pleasse class=SpellE>ssave me! class=SpellE>Trin’da, help me!’

It was then that he first met
Kouga of the wolf tribe.style='mso-spacerun:yes'>

“What at the hell do you think
you’re doing?!” he heard a voice demand, and he peeked slowly up.style='mso-spacerun:yes'>
The cat youkai were
no longer at the lip of the ditch, and he heard some sounds like a fight,
scampering , bu, but couldn’t see over that accursed lip.

There were a few moments of
silence before a shadow, and then a grinning wolf club peeked over at him.style='mso-spacerun:yes'>
“Are you okay?” he asked Shi’en.style='mso-spacerun:yes'> “Come on, take my hand and I’ll pull you out.”

Shi’enstyle='font-size:22.0pt'> did so, blushing at the unfamiliar display of
kindness, his heart beating a bit erratically.

Sig ong on the ground outside
the ditch then, Shi’en started to stutter out, “m-m
name iss…” but didn’t get to finish as class=SpellE>Kouga
stuck his thumb proudly to his chest and announced, “I’m
Kouga, future King of the Wolf tribe and Lord of the
Northern Lands. Who’re you?”

“I’m Sshi—“

Sshi’en!style='mso-spacerun:yes'> Shi’en!” he heard
his brother calling and looked over his shoulder.

Trin’da.style='mso-spacerun:yes'> I’m over here!” he called back.

At the same time, class=SpellE>Kouga was called off.
Kouga, you little whelp, where are you?!style='mso-spacerun:yes'> Get back to work!”

“Oh.style='mso-spacerun:yes'> Gottaclass=GramE> run Shi-chan.style='mso-spacerun:yes'> See ya!” the wolf
said, rushing off to rejoin his pack.

Trin’dastyle='font-size:22.0pt'> kneeled beside his brother, watching the wolf disappear
from view. wass
that?” he asked the youngling.

“That person…is prince class=SpellE>Kouga,” Shi’en said.style='mso-spacerun:yes'> He’ss
going to be my mate ssomeday, Trin’da.
style='mso-spacerun:yes'> You sshould have
met him, brother. class=GramE>He’ss sso
sstrong and brave and…beautiful.
style='mso-spacerun:yes'> He’ll definitely be my future mate.”

*~*~*

class=SpellE>Maio!style='mso-spacerun:yes'> Maio!” the shrine
maiden called after the young woman, running to catch up to her.style='mso-spacerun:yes'> Maio.”

“Oh,” she turned a charming class=GramE>smile on the shorter
girl. Atsuki,
were you calling me? I’m sorry.”

“You forgot your shoes again!”
Atsuki said in exasperation.

Maiostyle='font-size:pt'>pt'> looked down at her bare feet.style='mso-spacerun:yes'> “Oh!” she giggled, dark eyes sparkling.style='mso-spacerun:yes'> “That was silly of me.”

Atsukistyle='font-size:22.0pt'> sighed and leaned on her broom.style='mso-spacerun:yes'> “Really Maio, you’re
off in your own little world all the time these days.style='mso-spacerun:yes'> What have you so suddenly decided is worth
praying for? You never showed much
interest before now.”

Maiostyle='font-size:22.0pt'> slipped into her sandals, reflecting back to a week
ago when the monk and his friends had come into town.style='mso-spacerun:yes'> She knew that she was a beautiful woman, but
it was nothing that she could put her finger on.style='mso-spacerun:yes'> Her hair was straight and black, her eyes
dark. She was perhaps a hair taller than
the average woman, neither thin nor chunky, with just a bit of meat on
her. In short, she didn’t have a single
peculiar trait, and yet, she was beautiful.
So, she had not been surprised when the monk picked her out of the
crowd. She had been taken by the sadness
in his gentle eyes.

>&nb>

“A baby,” she answered
now. “I’m praying for a child, class=SpellE>Atsuki
.”

Atsukistyle='font-size:22.0pt'> nearly dropped.
“You—you didn’t actually let that perverted monk bed you, did you?style='mso-spacerun:yes'> Maio, tell me you
didn’t let him take you!”

“He didn’t take anything I
wasn’t willing to give.”

“But class=SpellE>Maio!”

“Hush.style='mso-spacerun:yes'> He’s a good man.style='mso-spacerun:yes'> I would be honored to bear a child for such a
man as that.”

“But he doesn’t love
you! He won’t marry you!” class=SpellE>Atsuki
protested, waving her broom around indignantly.

“Learn to take things for
what they are, Atsuki.style='mso-spacerun:yes'>
I’ve no intention of marrying him, or anyone
else. But…for a moment, in the dark, we
were in love. That’s enough for me.style='mso-spacerun:yes'> Plenty.style='mso-spacerun:yes'> him, but I don’t love him now any more than he does me.style='mso-spacerun:yes'> I am hardly the first woman he’s ever touched
and I highly doubt that I will be the last, but I would still like to give him
a child.”

< sty style='font-size:22.0pt'>“But style='mso-bidi-font-style:normal'>why?”style='font-size:22.0pt'> class=SpellE>Atsuki demanded, exasperated.

“Because it
would make him happy.
style='mso-spacerun:yes'> Do I need another reason?”

“YES!” Atsuki
protested.

Maiostyle='font-size:22.0pt'> giggled, patting the girl’s head.style='mso-spacerun:yes'> “You’re still so young,” she teased.

“You’re only a year older,” class=SpellE>Atsuki said dryly. “What
do you intend to do class=SpellE>Maio? You’re only a
woman. A woman without a man can’t get
far in this world.”

“Only a woman,” class=SpellE>Maio mused, then gave her friend a
playful smile. “Well, we’ll see.”

*~*~*

Mirokustyle='font-size:22.0pt'> blinked. “…class=SpellE>Kouga. You’re
looking…well?” Actually, he was looking
a little rabid, only a little. Seemingly
out of nowhere, the wolf youkai had stormed up and
tackled him to the ground. Now the demon
was basically on all fours over the startled monk with his equally started
friends staring on. They thought the
wolf had lost his mind.

In truth Kouga
was a little crazy right now.style='mso-spacerun:yes'>
When he’d caught Miroku’s
scent he had an instant fight or flight reaction; he knew it was either ‘gun it’
or ‘chicken out’, so he’d gunned it, and, hovering over the monk, one thought
crossed his mind: ‘what now?’

Er…sorry…”
he muttered, getting up.

Mirokustyle='font-size:22.0pt'> was only halfway to his feet when Kouga
said, “but we need to talk,” and grabbed his wrist,
dragging him off. He stopped a moment
and smiled at Kagome and the others, saying,” don’t worry,
I’m not nuts, just ticked off. I’ll
return him in one piec,e I
swear,” and then…back to dragging Miroku after
him.

“Ah…uhm…”
Miroku stuttered.
He couldn’t form a coherent thought for some reason.style='mso-spacerun:yes'>
Could be the complete randomness of the
situation, or his brain had been knocked out of his head when class=SpellE>Kouga jumped him and his skull slammed into the ground.

When they were out of sight, class=SpellE>Inuyasha scoffed. class=GramE>“Che.style='mso-spacerun:yes'> He still smells like that damn snake.”

Sango’sstyle='font-size:22.0pt'> eyes widened slightly, and then she sighed
softly. ‘I understand,’ she
thought. ‘He hasn’t finished saving you
yet, has he Kouga?
Poor guy.
You worked so hard to be strong, and it still wasn’t enough.’style='mso-spacerun:yes'> She clenched her fists at her sides in
righteous indignation. class=SpellE>Sango knew one thing for sure about this whole mess, when
they finally ran into that damn viper again to get his n cln class=GramE>shards,
she was going to enjoy putting him out of his misery.style='mso-spacerun:yes'> She couldn’t, at that time, have any idea how
miserable he truly was.

*~*~*

A/N:style='mso-spacerun:yes'> Another chapter down!style='mso-spacerun:yes'> Well, I was debating where I wanted to end
this chapter, but I wanted to save Kouga’s
much-awaited confrontation with Mu for the next
chapter. And now I have another OC to,
knowing me, complicate things even more.
I dunno though, Maio,
I kind of like her! And class=SpellE>Atsuki
, if she was in modern times, I can see her running
around a shrine pushing her glasses up her nose and chasing Maio
around with a broom, but falling flat on her face all the time…class=SpellE>hehe. I bet she’s a
real clutz! And the Shi’en
memory scene, it came out just how I wanted it to, but now I don’t know how to
feel, because I totally despise Shi’en, but seeing
him as this helpless little youkai trapped in a
ditch, I’m like “aww, you poor thing.”style='mso-spacerun:yes'> Yeesh!style='mso-spacerun:yes'> Why can’t I ever hate my villans
as much as they deserve to be hated, damnit!style='mso-spacerun:yes'>

Well, the next chapter should
be fun to write though! class=SpellE>Hmm..but
I’m not sure what will
happen after that. Bah, I’m sure I’ll
think of something interesting. There’s
still so much to do! I hope you enjoyed
this chapter and I will try to write more soon!
