A Demonic Love Story

Disclaimer: I sadly do not own the Inu-tachi. I just take credit for all the steamy lovemaking the group members fantasy about doing (*wink, wink*). This chapter is somewhat short to better prepare for the oncoming chapter. Sneek Peek: the next chapter will be filled with lemony goodness.


As the group began their journey further westward into Sesshoumaru’s Lands Kagome took pause and expanded her miko senses to determine if any shikkon shards were to be found or hiding nearby. As luck would have it there were two shikkon shards heading their way at a very fast and rapid pace, which only meant one thing – Kouga-kun was on his way to meet up with Kagome and the rest of the group.

Within a flash Kouga was standing before Kagome and as usual began fawning over Kagome. This pisses off Inuyasha, but it greatly angers his aniki Lord Sesshoumaru. Sesshoumaru elicits a feral growl and his eyes have changed to a dark crimson color warning Kouga to let go of Kagome’s hands and lay off or else… Kouga is temporarily taken aback but decides to nevertheless put some distance between Kagome and himself and especially the Youkai Lord Sesshoumaru-sama. Sesshoumaru is an opponent he dare not fight. The Lord of the Western Lands is as deadly as he is protective of those things that are his, which means only one thing – Kagome must now be his mate. Taking a sniff his thoughts were confirmed leaving him temporarily saddened.

Suddenly Kagome stiffens leaving her back ramrod straight. A cold chill runs down her spine. She voices out to the rest of the group that a strong youkai that carries a shikkon shard is in the distance but is steadily approaching them. Taking heed of his mate’s warning and bodily reactions - Sesshoumaru sniffs the air around him and is angered that another youkai dare to cross his lands uninvited. Sesshoumaru is furthered incensed when he senses the trespassing youkai harbors the intent to kill and destroy anything or anyone who stands in his way of obtaining more shikkon shards. Only wanting to protect Kagome from harm without warning Sesshoumaru transforms into his true form and races out in the direction of the treacherous youkai who dared to cross his lands and pose a threat to his mate.

Kagome and the rest of the group rush after Sesshoumaru to lend their aid if at all necessary. Upon meeting up with Sesshoumaru they see the trespassing youkai and he is absolutely grotesque. He is a huge bluish-gray dragon youkai with a thick scaly hide and huge fangs and claws. Sesshoumaru is effectively battling the dragon youkai, but the youkai proves to be stronger than he looks and within a flash forcefully removes Sesshoumaru from his upper back/neck and flings him hard against the surrounding trees breaking five completely. Sesshoumaru is down and badly injured at least 4 of his ribs are broken making it hard to breathe nevertheless move. Sensing her mates temporarily weakened state Kagome begins to concentrate and focus all of her energies onto herself so that if she needed to she would destroy this grotesque monster. Kagome’s aura began to change you could feel the destructive power housed within her body.

The dragon youkai not taking heed to her warning-the change in her aura- began to charge at the already fallen and injured dog demon. In an instant a bright pink and bluish light blinded the dragon youkai and as if out of the blue the very earth itself raged war upon his being. The trees were ripped out of the ground from their roots by an unseen force and massive boulders began to rapidly spin around him and suddenly without warning the trees and boulders began their fierce attack hitting him with such tremendous impact causing his body to tear into small pieces that he felt himself dying before he actually died. The dragon youkai lay dead on the ground in a matter of 5 minutes after Kagome’s fierce attack. Sensing that the dragon’s life force was completely gone Kagome immediately ceased her rampaging attack on the dead youkai. She then walked over to the dead youkai and removed the shikkon shard from its head and purified it with her hands. Once the shard was purified she softly spoke an ancient incantation and the dead youkai was slowly being sucked into the deepest bowels of the earth.

Once the ground was free of the grotesque youkai Kagome quickly ran to Sesshoumaru’s side. Seeing his shock and pain mirrored in his eyes Kagome gently placed her hands on Sesshoumaru’s sides and began to concentrate on healing her mate’s broken ribs quicker. Now fully recovered Sesshoumaru transforms back into his humanoid form and firmly clasped Kagome into his wide embrace and held onto her tightly for dear life. He smiled widely and thanked Kami for having her in his life. Kagome smiled back at Sesshoumaru and whispered for his ears only that she was worried about his well-being, that she loved him with all her heart, that he was strong enough to be her fierce and loyal protector, and that no one hurts the one’s she loves and escapes unharmed. So stunned and pleased was Sesshoumaru at her truthful admissions that he tightened his arms around her and kissed her fully on the lips, which she no doubt reciprocated.

Sesshoumaru was amazed by his mate’s power and proud of her as well as was everyone else in the group. In fact, if the truth were to be told they were all even a little frightened as to what she was capable of doing. But she was a well-balanced innocent soul, meaning her destructive powers was equally measured by that of her healing and restorative powers, and this thought eased the groups worries over her tremendous powers. After all, she aimed her attack only at the dragon youkai and everyone else was left unharmed.

The unveiling of Kagome’s inherent powers also gave hope to the whole group that now they stood a fighting chance in being able to defeat that bastard Naraku and possibly escape with their lives intact. In unison the whole group silently thanked Kami-sama for bringing them Kagome. She was the best thing that ever happened to all of them and for that they were grateful for her presence around them. She made them feel safe and they only hoped that once the jewel was whole again that she would be able to continue her traveling through time or that she would just permanently stay with them in the past.

Weary from battle Kagome softly voiced to Sesshoumaru, Inuyasha, Sango, Miroku, Shippo, and Kairara that she needed to bathe and just relax. Sesshoumaru nodded and lifted Kagome into his arms. He then turned to Inuyasha and the rest of the group and told them to follow him. They did as he commanded and within an hour they approached a beautiful and formidable huge stone castle. Not needing to ask for they knew this was Lord Sesshoumaru’s home they simply followed the youkai lord and their friend into the castle that bespoke of comfort and safety for at least a few days.
