Hated but Loved

Chapter 8

Kagome had awaken that night to find an emotionless Sesshomaru sitting by her bedside. "I don't trust you" he stated coldly causing Kagome to snort at his always blunt honesty. She glanced at him "So you've said time and time again Sesshomaru, so there is no need to point it out" she snapped bitterness seeping into her tone. He just looked at her the only emotion on his face was hatred. "But my mate cares deeply, far more than I think you'll ever know" he finished looking and waiting for her reaction.

She just stared at him, her mind trying to catch up with her brain "I know" she whispred weakly. Tears started to spill down her cheek as she began to cry, she knew now that the way she acted before was unexceptable. 'Can he truely blame me? I've been second best to for his love for far too long' she thought as her eyes glazed over with tears. It hurt her so much to comprehend that Sesshomaru was Inuyasha's mate, that Sesshomaru was the one that Inuyasha loved, and that it would be Sesshomaru that got to love Inuyasha in return.

Sesshomaru looked at the women before him and knew that Inuyasha had been right. She had changed dramatically, this was not the same ningen women that he remembered. The miko that sat before him was weak and fragile, her one fiery spirit was shattered. Her every soul had been locked away in a protective shell made up of self-pity and depression.

Both of them sat in silence, each person wrapped in their own thoughts about the same person. Kagome stared at Sesshomaru 'How can a man so cold and cruel have the love of some one so special,Inuyasha needs to be loved and I know that Sesshomaru can't return his love, but why would Inuyasha give Sesshomaru his mark so early?' she thought to her self. She asked this because according to Sango if this had nothing to do with love than Inuyasha would have had to have given Sesshomaru his mark only during mating season. But that was almost three weeks away from now, so why would he give Sesshomaru his mark already?

"Were is your mate Sesshomaru" she asked forcing out the words as they poured from her mouth. He glanced at her, always being as honest as possible he told her the only truth he could. "He went after the wolf, all for you I might add" a look of sheer panic was written across her face. She glared at him "Went after?! What do you mean what after?!" she winced as she moved to the side to far. He body was still recovering from the rape, she shook her head to get rid of the pictures of Kouga that floated through her mind.

Sesshomaru smirked "You and I both know what I mean" he stated simply as he got up to leave. "But what if he gets hurt, what if he and the pups get hurt" she whispered into the covers around her. Hurt and worry slid across Sesshomaru's magestic features "He'll be fine, they all shall return home soon miko, rest now" he muttered as he left the room, so that he could talk to Sango. The tai youkai had grown fond of the taijiya, but as he left her left a worried and confused Kaogme behind.

Some where in the Northern Lands...

Inuyasha had been running since Kaogme had told him who raped her, he was after Kouga. He had to stop after night fall and made it to the Northern lands a little after mid-morning. He sniffed out the wolf and walked untill her came upon a large den on the far side of the lands. Two young youkai guards stood watch outside Kouga's den, the looked lanky this cause Inuyasha to smirk.

"I'm here to see Kouga" he annouced as he walked closer, but the guards just glanced at him. The taller, older looking one stepped forward "What business do you have with our Lord Kouga?" he asked imapaitently. Inuyasha looked at him and a smirk played across his child-like face. "It ain't none of your business, just tell him that Inuyasha is here and what's to speak with him" he stated firmly.

Hearing all the commotion from outside Kouga stepped towards the doorway of his den. "You two are dismissed" he said waving off the guards, he smirked as his eyes fell on Inuyasha. "What fo you want dog shit?!" he asked coldly as he stared at the hanyou blankly, eyes fogged over from sleep. Inuyasha just snarled at him as he tightened his grip on tetsusaiga. "You've come all this way for a fight? that's low even for a half-breed mutt like you" Kouga kept going not seeing the flash of red in the hanyou's eyes. "How can you stand there and act like you did nothing wrong?!" Inuyasha barked at him, his eyes still flashing red.

Kouga looked at the hanyou bemused "What have I done?" he asked not really caring, he was just curious. Inuyasha pulled out tetsusaiga "You raped Kagome and now you want to act like you didn't do anything!" he snarled stepping forward. Kouga looked at the hanyou before him with a look of shock and disbelief on his face. He backed away from Inuyasha as the hanyou slowly transformed into his full demon form. "No" Kouga whispered, he was finally remembering what he did to Kagome. He tried to say he would apologize but as a full demon Inuyasha stood before him, it was too little too late.

It all happened in a blurr that Kouga didn't realize what had even happened to himself. Throwing his blade aside Inuyasha took one life threating swing and slashed Kouga directly in half. One half of his body slid down to the ground before the other, blood splattering everywhere. But Inuyasha was still in demon form and all his rage was still building. But what he didn't know was that his mate felt him change and was coming for him.

Running with all his might Sesshomaru made it just in time to see his mate kill two other people. He realized why, they had their weapons drawn to his stomach so his mate thought that his pups were in danger. Walking over to his mate he stepped over Kouga's body, the half with his face on showing his last expression 'horror'. Sesshomaru slowly made his way to Inuyasha. Seeing his brother caused Inuyasha to look towards his direction. He stepped forward and Sesshomaru fought all urges to back away from his mate. "Inuyasha stop this" he yelled as he looked into his brother's now red eyes.

Inuyasha stepped forward again and tried to strike Sesshomaru, but he quickly dodged it. He grabbed hold of Inuyasha's waist and rested his stomach were the pup was. "It's me kio, their safe now" he whispered. The demon before him just growled but Sesshomaru wasn't letting got "Come back to me puppy, their safe now" he kept saying it over and over again untill the normal Inuyasha was laying in his arms.

He was out cold so Sesshomaru carried him back to the castle so that he and his mate could rest. He didn't plan on telling the miko about this, he still didn't trust her but he knew she had alot to deal with. He returned back home and laied Inuyasha gently on his bed. He soon sat next to his mate and fell asleep listening to the heartbeats of his pups, they were faint but there were four.

When Inuyasha wakes up...

Inuyasha woke up to find Sesshomaru resting on his stomach, he smiled down at his sleeping mate. He brushed back his bangs and traced the cresent moon on his mates forehead. Sesshomaru began to stirr so Inuyasha stop which caused a low whimper from the man under him. He began tracing the cresent again and Sesshomaru began to purr softly as he came to lay next to Inuyasha's head. "I love you Sesshomaru" he whispered knowing his love could hear him. A reluctant Sesshomaru opened his golden-amber eyes to look at his mate "I love you too...Puppy" he teased his brother by scratching his dog-like ears. It was now Inuyasha turn to purr as he leaned into his brothers soft touch "I was worried, I thought I had lost you" he murrmered into Inuyasha's ear. Inuyasha chuckled as he nuzzled his loves cheek "I know you better than that, you'll never admit it but you were afraid" he whispered before he kissed his lovers ear.

Sesshomaru pulled Inuyasha closer to him "I'll only admit this to you, I was afraid that I'd lost you and the pups" he whispered as he stroke Inuyasha's stomach lovingly. Inuyasha looked in his brothers eyes, almost identical but Sesshomaru's were finally changing. They had gone from cold as ice to warm and loving much like his own. "Do you want to know how many?" he asked Inuyasha just nodded "four" he said as he kissed Inuyasha's cheek.

A/N: Hello people, I hope that this one is alot better spelled. I'm thinking about changing my major because I'm flunking literature. I'm not the best speller but I love to write, I find that some what ironic. Anyway I hope you all loved the story and R&R
