The Search

“Huh? What happened to me?” Siame asked lazily, trying to rub her eyes. She found her arms bound along with both legs in chains. A evil laugh echoed through the dark room. Siame looked up to the character in the shadows.

“You’re awake. Now, the fun really begins.” The evil character laughed, taking one step out of the shadows. His red eyes reflected brightly in the dull light, his black wavy hair along his shoulders. The baboon skin he wore was discarded in a corner to his right. He wore a purple and black kimono. He edged forward to Siame, a chuckle heard every few steps. Siame struggled to release herself from the chains, them rattling and echoing off the walls, increasing Naraku’s pleasure. “Yes, struggle, Siame, dear. Struggle.” Naraku crackled evilly.

“Get. The. Fuck. Away. From. Me.” Siame yelled, still struggling with the chains. They didn’t break, oddly to Siame, only cut farther into her wrists. Blood trickled from each wrist, dripping to the floor.

“Now, we wouldn’t want to bleed to death, huh? Not before I have my own fun with you.” Naraku remarked.

“Go fuck yourself!” Siame shouted, it echoing once again off the walls. A odd little girl opened the door to the dungeon, light pouring into the room. Naraku hissed at her, and she left. She caught her name; Kanna.

“You weird bastard!” She screamed, forcing her chains farther into her wrists. More blood dripped from the chains.

“I fear that if you make anymore noise, Kagura might come down here. You already awoke Kanna. I want no more disruptions.” Naraku said, cracking a grin. “Now, where was I?”

“You were just about to let me go.” Siame said, trying to trick him, but of course Naraku wasn’t THAT stupid.

“You foolish woman! I’m not stupid!” Naraku glared, grabbing her chin to make her face him. She closed her eyes and struggled against his touch, resulting in scratches across her jaw.

“Leave me alone!” Siame screamed, a few tears leaving her closed eyes.

“Look at me then!” He yelled.

“NO!” Siame yelled, only resulting in damage to her own sensitive ears.

“You fool. I will get you sooner or later!” Naraku growled, releasing her jaw. Her head fell loosely downward. Naraku left, promising his return.

Meanwhile, with Inuyasha, Sesshomaru, Kagome and Kouga, their scent trail ended at a cliff. None of them could see land past it, nothing but the sun setting into a sea. Sesshomaru growled in his throat turning back to the forest. Kagome turned with him, following.

“Why do you leave? Siame is still out there! She could be in danger!” Kagome yelled, alarming Kouga and Inuyasha that they no longer were at the cliff. They followed shortly after Kagome.

“It was a trap, set by one of Naraku’s minions. How foolish of you to fall for it!” Sesshomaru said, referring his comment to Inuyasha and Kouga.

Kouga was the first to bite back. “If I my memory serves me correctly, you fell for it too!”

“Lies! I just followed where you were going!” Sesshomaru turned as his comment hit Kouga.

“You led us here!” Kouga stated, edging forward to Sesshomaru. He ducked in time to miss Sesshomaru’s poison claws aimed at Kouga’s neck. A battle formed, ending in Inuyasha and Kagome sending both men to two opposite directions. Kagome tried her best to keep Sesshomaru going in the direction to the village, but Sesshomaru kept wanting to follow his nose to Siame’s direction, which had suddenly been sent west of their location. Right into his own lands. Every once in a while Sesshomaru chuckled, which startled Kagome every time. She kept believing Sesshomaru would lash out at her every time he chuckled. They later met up with Inuyasha at the village. He had Kouga chase him all the way there, after a rude comment sent Kouga after him. He had claimed that he was also a possibility of Siame’s child, which infuriated Kouga into threatening Inuyasha’s life and chasing after Inuyasha. Inuyasha later admitted that he lied, claiming he was just pulling the wolf’s tail. Not understanding Inuyasha’s terms from Kagome’s time, he kept checking his tail every few minutes, seeing if Inuyasha was pulling at it. Kagome and Sesshomaru showed up in time to see the wolf looking at his tail at the moment, pet it a few times, then look up at Kagome and Sesshomaru, a light pink tinting his tanned cheeks. He sat down next to Inuyasha who had fallen asleep shortly before Kagome and Sesshomaru arriving. Kagome settled next to Inuyasha, nesting her head on his shoulder. Sesshomaru, meanwhile, started pacing and sniffing around. His odd emotions of worry and fear were seeping through his invisible mask of coldness, which seemed to be caused of Siame’s disappearance. As light dawned, Sesshomaru finally relaxed against a tree, looking to the rising sun. Later that night, Miroku and an oddly scented Sango arrived at their camp, and slept next to the fire, in each others arms. Shippo and Kirara were no where to be found that night.

Sesshomaru ended up resting for an hour, for when he awoke to sounds, he grabbed his sword, startling everyone who were packing up their sheets and cots. Kagome jumped at the sudden arrival of three jewel shards, and Kouga, Inuyasha and Sesshomaru jumped at the chance to found out if it was Naraku or another worthless demon. In the end, everyone went to go find out. Kirara and Shippo later joined them along their path to the jewel shards. They found the demon later, one of Naraku’s puppets. Miroku convinced all to not attack the puppet for it had the location of Siame’s body. It claimed it only wanted to speak to Sesshomaru, so Sesshomaru steeped forward, a slight tint of red in his usual amber eyes. The puppet claimed that Sesshomaru was the only one to go in search of her, and if anyone followed, Naraku would kill her instantly. There was no direction, only one hint. “The heart knows where she is.”

The puppet later vanished, causing Sesshomaru to lash out at a nearby tree, sending it crashing down in his anger. Sesshomaru was so enraged that when he started out on the search of her, he didn’t hear Kagome call out to him until Inuyasha jumped in front of him to block his path. Kagome gave him a helpful hint, if he was to find her, he wasn’t supposed to follow her with her scent or hearing. It was for his heart to find her. Kagome offered him ear plugs and a nose plugs for his journey there. He was first nervous about them, for it would put him at more risk of danger and attack, but he eventually agreed when Kouga offered to take his place for him. Sesshomaru headed off, not a word of goodbye mentioned.

Everyday, Sesshomaru felt a slight tug of his heart towards the direction of Siame. He followed it, his smell of any enemies nearby gone. He nearly jumped out of his skin when a small rabbit jerked in front of him the first day. Without his hearing and smell, he looked like a paranoid demon. His sight was still keen, luckily, or he would’ve died when the first demon attacked, forcing him for jewel shards he didn’t have. He barely missed an attack that was aimed at him during the battle, no damage done to his body as his killed it in one swipe.

It took him a seven days to reach a barrier, but he knew he was getting closer. Every step he took closer to her, the tug would become stronger. If he headed in the wrong direction, getting mixed up after a fight, the tug would weaken until he started the right way again. When he reached the barrier, he easily stepped through the purple barrier, his body feeling nothing but a tingle. But once he stepped through and got to the other side, a force pushed himself back out. He landed swiftly on his feet, anger in his eyes. He was so close, but yet so far. A swift movement to his right caused him to turn his head suddenly to a dark spot in the forest. Two amber eyes were reflective in the light from the barrier. Sesshomaru removed the ear plugs and nose plug. The scent hit him hard and he stumbled back from the temptation. “Siame!” He screamed to the shadows.
