Too Much Time On Their Hands

Inuyasha thought he would feel more pain at Sesshoumaru’s departure and that the unmating would cause great distress. He instead felt numb and empty. There was no real sadness, but he was far from happy. It was like someone cut a hole in him that was bleeding out something, but nothing he could identify directly. It was a loss and there was no true way to explain it. It hurt more than anything in the world and yet it did not seem as though he could do anything about it so why try?

Michael was humming in the kitchen cooking up breakfast and acting as though he were a chipper housewife as the house slowly filled with people. Sesshoumaru had sent the whole pack to them and it seemed Michael’s OCD just got worse. He was slapping Kouga’s hands and making everyone clean up after themselves scolding them constantly if there was even a crumb on the floor. Inuyasha had grown used to this, but said nothing to change it.

Deep inside Inuyasha was miserable, but he had to be there for Michael since he was indeed the Father of their pup. Kouga being here just seemed to make Inuyasha feel even more out of place and irritable. The wolf just tended to piss him off trying to order him around. In fact with Inuyasha’s irritation growing very few people except for his own children and Michael talked to him since Inuyasha withdrew into himself most of the time.

“How do you want your eggs Inuyasha?”

Inuyasha looked at Michael and sighed.

“Sunny side up as always, you should know me by now.”

Michael frowned a bit then smiled. He would bring Inuyasha out of his slump. It had to be hard to be unmated, but Michael didn’t understand the whole thing anyway. To him the only thing that mattered was that he would be a parent soon so he was glowing in joy at this whole thing.

“Michael, why do you bother working so hard when no one seems to notice it? I mean you should be resting like Dr. Hojo said. You are doing way too much and you are going to hurt yourself.”

Inuyasha stated as he looked out at the beach. It was so empty here, but full at the same time. He wanted to run away, but it was so close to Michael’s due date that he couldn’t just leave him. Michael and the wolves had become closer. Inuyasha was not really needed anymore in his mind since Kouga took on Michael like he did anyone of his mates. It was easy for them to meld him into their lot once he was actually shown that they did indeed need him. Michael was one to dote on people and the wolves took it in adoring him for it.

“I can’t rest and I love to cook. Kouga loves my cooking. Don’t you?”

Michael had been sleeping with the wolves lately and Inuyasha hadn’t been with him in months. It was an easy let down for Michael when Inuyasha decided all of a sudden that he didn’t want to be intimate anymore. Inuyasha became celibate soon after Sesshoumaru left with Megan. Michael was so happy about the baby that he really didn’t notice anything else around him. Inuyasha tried to be with Michael again, but there wasn’t anything there that he enjoyed in the sex anymore. It just seemed to make Inuyasha more miserable and even moodier although he really wanted to be different for Michael’s sake. He just didn’t love the guy and how could he pretend to love Michael? That would just eventually cause Inuyasha to resent him and Michael to become very hurt in the end of it all.

“I enjoy it fine. Still, you shouldn’t push yourself.”

Inuyasha got up to get his plate and kissed Michael on the cheek. It was the least he could do to show some affection for this man since he was going to have their child. Inuyasha just couldn’t seem to not pull away from this feeling like something was missing from his life and something was wrong in it. Wasn’t an unmating supposed to make you completely let go of that person? You were not supposed to just stop feeling in general. It was like right now Kouga could kick his ass and it wouldn’t even faze him. Kouga had been mocking him for days, picking on him, until finally he gave up. It was worse than with Kikyo’s death.

“Morning mutt face are you gonna sulk all day or act like you have balls still?”

Kouga grumbled looking at Inuyasha then smacking him on the back of the head.

“Do that again wolf and you will lose your paws.”

Inuyasha stated softly, but with no real threat.

“Ya, sure you will just like yesterday ya lousy excuse for a dog. Why don’t ya get up off the fucking feel sorry for yourself couch and do something?”

Kouga frowned plopping down next to his best friend angry that this hadn’t even struck a nerve. Normally Inuyasha would have kicked his ass by now. It pissed him off so damn much that Inuyasha was being such a push over and a lump lately. The least he could do was come back with something stupid or kick his ass.

“Dr. Hojo told us pregnant people to rest. Perhaps you can convince Michael of this since I am useless in this capacity.”

Inuyasha interjected as he swallowed down his egg staring blankly at the wall.

“You act like you are already dead.”

Kouga slammed his fist down on the table. It really pissed him off that Sesshoumaru did this to Inuyasha. He was going to hear from him and this time in person. Kouga was sick of being hung up on by the bastard. How many more damn cell phones was he going to have to buy? Kouga kept crushing them and Miroku was getting on his ass about that since it was getting ridiculous to keep buying them like they were going out of style.

“Well, I am not that lucky and that would not do for my children so shut up.”

Inuyasha got up from the table only to have Kouga grasp his arm.

“Sit down and quit walking away from me.”

Kouga felt Inuyasha pull away. He couldn’t take it anymore and was ready to really let Inuyasha have it until Michael doubled over dropping the frying pan.

“Ouchhhhhhhhhh…………………”

Michael whimpered out as the two canine demons at the table’s eyes bugged out of their head. Michael was suddenly surrounded by two demons as Inuyasha picked him up in his arms.

“Call that asshole Akiyoshi, it is time.”

Inuyasha stated firmly to Kouga as the wolf nodded picking up the box with his new cell in it realizing he hadn’t activated it yet. It was a good thing the land line was still working or they would be screwed. Then Kouga got a brain fart and suddenly realized Akiyoshi was there in the house. He had been just like a first time Father with Michael, babying him like crazy and now it was time.

“Damn it Doc get up out of bed you lazy ass it is time!”

Kouga yelled as he ran upstairs into Kagome and Akiyoshi’s room not even bothering to knock. It wasn’t like none of them had seen each other naked before so it was normal for them to just barge in whenever there was something going on which was another thing that Inuyasha couldn’t stand and so this was not new to have people rush in even though Kagome shrieked like usual covering up.

“You don’t have time for that Kagome plus I seen it all plus enjoyed it and will you quit doing that to us bitch it hurts our ears!”

Kagome gave Kouga a dirty look throwing things at him. Akiyoshi ignored the fight going on between Kagome and Kouga as he threw on his pajama pants and ran out of the room to Michael. He was concerned about the Sophisticate and this would also be the birth that would put him on the map for the most famous demon doctor in the known world. No other physician had delivered a child from a one-time Sophisticate so this was a rare opportunity. This would go into his memoirs and the next book for the new students he was teaching now that he retired only able to handle caring for his own growing family. They were alone the best study subjects and the weirdest cases ever in the medical world.

“Get him prepared Kouga! You and Inuyasha know what to do since we have done this in this family a billion times before.”

Akiyoshi was a bit too happy and excited about this so everyone looked at him like he was insane as he smiled rushing to get ready for this. Ayame smacked Kouga on the back of the head to make him quit arguing with Kagome as she threw Kagome clothes telling her to shut up since they both had work to do. It was a good thing they had a room ready and waiting with all the tools. Michael was laid out feeling rather exposed wondering why he was forced to wear these adult diapers until he lost control of everything with the pain.

“This is very uncomfortable Inuyashaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa……..”

Michael moaned as he tried to keep his composure which was rather difficult with the contractions. The baby was going to come even if he didn’t want it to.

“Akiyoshi will you hurry your dumb ass up wolf!"

Inuyasha ground out as he held Michael’s hand ignoring the pain shooting through his arm at Michael’s grip. It wouldn’t be long, but Sesshoumaru had almost crushed his hand once when he squeezed it a bit too tight on the last pregnancy. Inuyasha’s arm took a long time to heal and no matter how many times Sesshoumaru apologized now it seemed to only remind Inuyasha how far apart they were. That numbness was fading into a new pain. That is when the tears fell at the wrong time.

“Inuyasha……..you are crying………”

Michael stated in shock and then another pain hit as he roared.

“You shouldn’t worry about me Michael, right now I need to worry about you.”

Inuyasha ground out trying to ignore the feelings of anger, hurt, and betrayal. He wanted right now to punch Sesshoumaru right in the nose, but he could not. He had to be here for Michael.

“I am ready so let us get started and bring out that beautiful baby of yours. Michael, just relax, we have done this a million times and Inuyasha is our worst patient so you hopefully will be easy.”

Kagome prepared the area and handed the tools to her husband as he worked with Inuyasha looking insulted for a moment although he was in tears. Michael ground out a grunt trying to keep his composure until he felt Akiyoshi finish the incision.

“Michael you can’t push so bear with me sweetie. This isn’t like female Lamaze so I don’t know why the hell they made you go to that stupid class other than Inuyasha and Kouga are insane.”

Akiyoshi stated softly as Michael panted.

“Damn that hurt………..”

Inuyasha if he wasn’t sobbing now that the whole idea of his unmating hit him would have laughed right then since Michael rarely if ever swore.

“Almost there and everything looks good.”

Dr. Hojo stated rushing quickly noticing that the healing would not be as quick as most demons damn it all. So he pulled the child out of the womb and removed the clots as well as the afterbirth quickly. Biting his wrist he quickly dripped his blood into the wound to close it.

“Inuyasha I need you right now damn it so this isn’t the place for you to fall apart on me!”

Akiyoshi ground out as his blood only healed part of the wound.

Inuyasha could hardly move as he sobbed at the pain of losing his mates then having to deal with all of this. It wasn’t the idea of being a Father again it was that Sesshoumaru and Megan were not here for him. It was then Akiyoshi finally grasped him by his ear making him yelp.

“Damn it Inuyasha, get out of your depression for a moment. Michael needs your blood.”

Inuyasha sobbed into Dr. Hojo’s shoulder as Akiyoshi ignoring the drama of the Father just used the scalpel to cut his wrist to drip the healing fluid into the wound finally sealing it.

“Michael it is going to take a few days for you to heal. You will not have the strength to hold your child. I am sorry.’
“Inuyasha pull yourself together and hold your son you pain in the ass. Of all the dumb ass times for that to happen and I am personally going to help Kouga kick Sesshoumaru’s sorry ass for this.”

Akiyoshi handed the crying baby to his sobbing Father. The child was beautiful with golden hair, golden ears upon his head, and bright blue eyes that were as round as Inuyasha’s.

“Michael, Jeremy Lee Tashio is beautiful. Look at our son.”

Inuyasha showed Michael their pup as he touched Jeremy’s tiny ear then passed out cold. His composure was done and so was all his energy. Michael swore that women were insane and so were these men. This was the last time he was going to go through that hell.

“Kouga look at my son.”

Kouga came over to see the pup. He smiled and Inuyasha nodded that Kouga could take him.

“So it took you long enough mutt face to show your feelings. I thought you decided to become a zombie instead of a demon ya jerk.”

Inuyasha then took his son back with a frown at the wolf.

“Ya, that reminds me………”

Inuyasha stated as he punched Kouga strait in the face feeling a bit better.

“That’s for being an ass all these days and don’t even try to claim that calling me a wimpy puppy who needed diapers cause I couldn’t take care of myself is going to make me feel better you asshole. I am going to beat the hell out of you at some point, but for today I am going to enjoy my son.”

The pup cooed in Inuyasha’s arms then yawned falling asleep. Inuyasha didn’t care about anything right now except holding his child and growled a bit at Kagome when she took Jeremy to get his diaper on.

“I don’t see the damn point of those things when they just pee on all of us anyway. The second I take it off of him I am going to get the golden shower of a lifetime.”

Inuyasha grumbled. The one thing he was glad their servants and nannies did was change the pups. Still, Jeremy was Michael’s first so he was going to be spoiled rotten by everyone.

“True, but he is not going to do that today to me or you.”

At that moment Kagome did get a fountain of yellow right down her scrubs making Inuyasha laugh a bit as he finished the job carrying the pup out to the beach to watch the sunset.

“Sesshoumaru I am coming home now and you better be ready for me.”

Inuyasha stated firmly and angrily. Jeremy would be coming with him while Michael rested. Inuyasha could feed him until Michael was well enough and then things would change for them all. Sesshoumaru had a lot of explaining to do just leaving him in the middle of the night like that and if he thought he could be gone for a year with no one noticing than Sesshoumaru was stupid.
