Chapter 7

"My Unwilling Mate"
by Hentai Jane

Disclaimer: I still don't own these characters, darn!

WARNING: Rated R for violence, language and sexual content.

AUTHORS NOTE: Ok, first of all, to all the people who were nice enough to review on aff.net, even though they read this on Fanfiction.net, THANK YOU!!
The reason I am not posting on ff.net is because some whiney little shit filed an abuse report and they deleted my story all the reviews. I think that is totally unfair, but that’s life. I have read stories more graphic than this fic is and I would never report anyone because when you go to a rated R section what do you think you are going to read about? Plus, I just don’t care what other people want to write, if the story is good, I’ll read it no matter how much sexual content there is.
I am editing ch 13, because now it is going to be a lemon between K/K. So please have patience with me! This should all be straightened out by Sunday.
Hugs

CHAPTER 7

'What is all that NOISE?' Kagome sat up in bed, alone again and thankful for that fact. She staggered in the direction of the cave entrance and whipped the cover aside.
She was greeted by the happy scene of everyday life for the wolf tribe. Some females were cleaning a huge deer, while others chopped fruit and vegetables for their morning meal.
Pails of fresh water for laundry was being carried up the rocky paths. Wolf pups played and romped with each other. Some of the males had weapons and were posted on various parts of the mountain side to help watch for approaching enemies.
There was a hollow thudding noise in the distance. Kagome squinted her eyes and saw several of the pack members fixing what looked like wheel burrows and carts.

Kouga, Guinta and Hakkagu came out of one of the dens.
Guinta was the first to see her, "Good morning little sister!" both of Kouga's lackeys waved to her.
Kouga ran up to the entrance "Sleep well?" he asked, raising an eyebrow at her appearance.
"Yeah..... like a baby...just peachy!" Kagome plastered on a fake smile.
"What sarcasm! And so early in the morning!" Kouga smirked, "Don't worry Kagome, it doesn't matter to me that you are obviously not a morning person or that your hair looks like a pack of mice slept in it, I still think you are wonderful! And your sarcasm just adds to your charm!" Kouga struck an arrogant pose with his arms crossed over his chest and chin slightly lifted.

She shook with anger knowing that his two favorite henchman overheard his comments.

"Jerk!" Kagome yelled as she stalked back to the bedroom to get her yellow bag.

"It was just a joke, Kagome...."

"Oi Kouga, I think you better leave her alone...." Guinta said.

"Yeah boss. Kagome has one vicious temper when you get her mad!" Hakkagu added.

"You two are such wimps, and especially you Hakkagu! Are you actually afraid of Kagome?"

"Aren't you?" Hakkaku asked.

"Of course not! She is going to be mate after all, and a strong male never shows fear. That woman will learn to follow my orders and never question them. After all, it is a females role in life to serve her male." Kouga's face beamed with male pride and arrogance.

The two wolves donned nearly frightened expression and seemed to be staring at him "What the hell's wrong with you two..."

WHACK! Something hit Kouga in the back of his head, that sent him reeling for a moment.
Guinta and Hakkagu yelped and covered their heads to avoid the same punishment. They saw Kagome coming down the hall just in time to witness Kouga's "I'm the boss" lecture, but had no way of warning him.

"You arrogant (voice is loud), self absorbed (voice gets louder), narrow minded (voice is now painfully loud), controlling (voice is so loud it can be heard at least twenty miles away) barbaric flea bag (voice can now clearly be heard on the entire island of Japan!)!! How dare you talk about me like that!"
Almost the entire wolf tribe gathered with painfully throbbing ears to witness their leaders demise.
Tears started to gather in her eyes. Kagome returned to the cavernous room to picked up the clothes she had laid on the bed before hearing Kouga's big mouth.
"Kagome........" he said softly, "I'm sorry.....I shouldn't have said those things. It's just that........I am leader of this tribe and I can't show weakness. Males, among wolf youkai, are supposed to be strong and fearless. Females are viewed as being the weaker sex and are meant to be taken care of and protected, but are expected to obey their mate. I'm not saying that abuse or any type of mistreatment is tolerated, but our females are just a little more submissive than you. If I had taken a female wolf youkai as my mate, she wouldn't have batted an eye at what I just said. She would know that there is truth in my statement, but that I didn't mean any harm either."
Tears flowed from her eyes, making them look glassy, and cascaded down her cheeks.
Kouga watched Kagome stand in total silence as her tears splashed on the stone floor. "Please don't cry love." he whispered in her ear. Kouga's embrace was warm and gentle as he rubbed her back, trying his best to soothe her.
"You can't keep me here Kouga. I want to go home." her voice was so hushed that he almost didn't hear her, but he heard enough to make his heart sink. He knew how wrong it was to hold her captive.
Kouga tilted Kagom's chin up and looked in her eyes, "When you agree to be my mate and we consumate our union, then I will take you home, but I know that you would try to escape if we went now." He new how his words sounded, but she needed to know the truth.

"Get dressed Kagome," he said and gave her a peck on the cheek, "Let's get out of here and get some fresh air. It's nice day out and I need to take you to the village for proper clothing."

"You have got to be kidding! I'm not going with you and I don't want ANYTHING from you either. All I want is to leave!" Kagome balled her hands into fists and glared at Kouga, "Last night you said things that made me think your confessions of love were sincere. I actually lost some of my anger when you told me how beautiful, strong and brave I was, but those were just lies, weren't they? After what you told Guinta and Hakkagu, I can see that you are just like Inuyasha. You are just another selfish jerk who only wants to control me and be nice when I serve a purpose. I will not be your mate Kouga, do you understand what I am saying?! I absolutely refuse to spend the rest of my life with someone who doesn't truly care about me and see me as an equal."
She tried to pull the ring off, but sharp pain made her entire hand throb. She winced and turned her tear stained face to address Kouga again.
"Take this ring off me right NOW!" She held out her hand, Kouga looked at down at the dazzling ring.
He seemed to be thinking about what he should do when he finally decided to answer, "I can't Kagome" his voice was solemn, " That ring is the only thing that keeps you here with me." Kouga took hold of her hand, turning it over, and kissed her palm.
"Since you won't come with me, I'll send Aika to keep you company while I am gone." His shoulders slumped and he looked less confident.

"Company, don't you mean to make sure I don't leave?!" Kagome yelled at his retreating form.

Kouga didn't feel like arguing with her so he chose to not respond and continued to look for Aika.

Kagome grabbed her clothes and went to the hot spring. She bathed quickly and lathered the soap in her hair. The smell of wild berries calmed her nerves a little as she rinsed he hair and stood to dry off. She pulled on another pair of jeans and a long sleeved, form fitting back top with tiny multicolored butterflies embroidered around the neck and sleeves. Kagome brushed her hair and went to put on her gym shoes. As she was tying the laces, she heard a melodious voice call out "Hello...."
Kagome walked to the hall and looked down the main entrance.
A female wolf stood just inside the door holding back the curtain, peering into the sunlit hallway. She had long waist length brown hair and grey eyes.

"Hi, are you Aika?" Kagome, walked toward her suddenly noticing her abdomen sticking out through her long kimono. Aika followed the young girls eyes to her rounded belly. She laughed at Kagome's stunned expression, "What's wrong? Haven't you ever seen preganat youkai before?"
"Huh..... oh, I'm so sorry for staring.....it's just that...you look like you're going to give birth any minute! How far along are you?" Kagome asked.
"About 8 months, and believe me, I can't wait for this pregnancy to be over with! My legs and back hurt constantly." Aika smiled at Kagome while rubbing her lower back.

"Oh my gosh...." Kagome ran over to Aika taking hold of her arm, "...here let me help you to the kitchen. There are a lot of soft cushions for you to sit on and I'll make some tea."
Akia waddled with Kagome into the kitchen and carefully sat down by the low table. Kagome looked in the cupboards for a kettle and tea leaves.

When the kettle whistled she poured them each a cup and sat across from he guest. "Kouga never mentioned that you were going to have a pup."

"No, he wouldn't have. Wolf males don't announce the pregnancy of others females out of respect for the couple. Only me and my mate, Chuugi can let it be known. This will be our first pup." Aika smiled as she passed her hand over her swollen belly.
Aika glanced over at the room as ths the hall, looking at the furniture "Do you like how Kouga's den is decorated Kagome?"
"I guess. I love that shouji screen and every thing else is very pretty too."

"I'm glad you like it. I helped Kouga pick out the furnishings and arrange them. He was very concerned that you would not approve."
Kagome was taken back by her statement, "Kouga decorated this place for me? I thought he always had these things. Why would he have gone through all that trouble for me?"

"Isn't it obvious? He loves you and wants this to be your home as well as his, but I am surprised that he went so far as to place a subduing spell on you. That was harsh!"
"Yeah, tell me about it." Kagome propped her elbow on the table and rested her chin in her hand.
"What do you think of him Kagome?" Aika looked like a concerned mom that wanted an answer but would never demand one.
"I don't think I should answer that because Kouga is at the very top of my shit list right now!"
Aika chuckled, "I'll have to remember that saying the next time my mate gets out of line."
Kagome quirked an eyebrow, "I thought females were submissive and didn't argue with their mates?"

"Don't believe everything you hear. Males may be seen as the protectors of the family, but I'd be afraid to fight ANY female around here, they know how to hold their own in battle. I imagine that human men can act the same way when they are around other males." Aika took a sip of her tea as Kagome listened, " Kouga can be too cocky for his own good Kagome but don't give up on him yet. He has told me quite a few things about you and I know how much he loves you. I believe our dear wolf prince would even sacrifice his own life to save yours, if needed. I have never seen him care for anyone the way he does for you."
Kagome usually knew when someone was trying to pull the wool over her eyes, but Aika's words seemed to be genuine.
"Then why doesn't he listen when I tell him I want to leave? I don't belong here Aika, we humans and wolves are so different. I don't fit in but it seems like he could care less how I feel." Kagome looked down at her tea cup.

(Sigh) "I understand what you are saying. I don't agree with his decision to hold you against your will, but from what he has told me, he felt it was his last hope. He just wanted to keep you here and let you see how our life is. Our pack is so close. It's like having one big family instead of a village of individual families. We all work together and share what we have. If a female is sick and has pups, we all pull together to help take care of the pups, make meals and clean for her until she feels better." Aika took in a deep breath and looked the young girl "Kagome, I know you are angry with him and I don't blame you. If that had been my mate acting so egotistical like Kouga was, I'd have given a good swift kick across his tail! But all that I ask is that you give him and all of us a chance. Don't judge us so quickly. I know you have met some of the wolves in the past, but you never really got acquainted with any of us beside Kouga, Guinta and Hakkagu. Please stay just for a little while."

Kagome's face held a calm expression with no hints of anger, "Did he out you up to this Aika?"

"No! I give you my word on my unborn pups life Kagome. Kouga asked me to just sit with you while he was gone, so you wouldn't get lonely. Think about it this way, if he really wanted to make you his prisoner, then why would he send a pregnant female to watch over you? If you tried to escape, I couldn't even get up fast enough to warn someone!" Aika laughed, "I would probably fall and look like a turtle trying to get up off its back!

Kagome couldn't help but laugh at that mental image! Aika was anything but coordinated, and running was out of the question.
The girls talked and laughed together for hours. Kagome poured more tea and sliced up an apple for them to snack on. Aika explained the traditions of the wolf youkai and told Kagome of the birth celebration for the new pup when it was born.
Conception was not easily achieved among female wolf youkai, and pregnancies weren't much better. Like human women, many complications occurred causing still births and miscarriages of pups. The entire tribe mourned the loss of these tiny lives, but when a new life came into the world, the tribe celebrated.
Kagome listened as she spoke fondly of how she and Chuugi met, her hopes and fears for friends and family and all the ambitions she had for the pups future. Aika' s words touched Kagome's heart as she began to realize, that they weren't so different after all.
