A Demonic Love Story

Sesshoumaru slowly withdrew himself from his mate’s body and tightly wrapped his arms around her all the while walking over to the outer banks of the lagoon so that they could dress into their clothing. There was much to get done today and Kagome no doubt would return to join up with her companions, as would he. There was no way in hell he would leave his mate to be protected by his half-brother Inuyasha. She was his mate and where ever she goes he will follow.

On the other side of the forest Inuyasha and the rest of the gang slowly awoke as dawn broke free the night’s reign over the land. Upon awaking Inuyasha and Shippo realized that Kagome’s presence was missing from their camp. This greatly disturbed the whole group. Sango grabs hold of her weapon and quickly calls for Kiarara who by now is already in her full battle form. Miroku seats himself behind Sango on top of Kiarara so that the group does not waste too much time while searching for their friend. Shippo who has latched on to Inuyasha’s back begins to cry because his mommy is missing and he is worried about her well-being. Inuyasha yells at Shippo to shut up but secretly he too is worried about Kagome and hopes that she is fine.

Kagome knows her friends are probably on their way in trying to find her and not wishing for unnecessary fighting to break out between them and Sesshoumaru she has decided to meet up with them half-way. Sesshoumaru understanding his mate’s responsibility and loyalty to her friends does not stop her, but rather has offered to accompany her on her journey and lend his assistance to help fight against Naraku. Kagome was most grateful for the offer and nodded her head to accept his generous offer. The two lovers began to walk towards the rest of group and without even thinking Sesshoumaru clasped his long strong clawed fingers around that of her delicate hands.

Inuyasha was the first to break into the forest clearing where Kagome had met with Sesshoumaru the night before. Using his powerful sense of smell he could smell Kagome’s scent in the area as well as his brother’s scent. This disturbed him but what increased his uneasiness was that both scents seemed to have been aroused. Before he had to ponder this thought for too long Kagome and Sesshoumaru arrived at the forest clearing and took notice of his presence. Inuyasha did not like Sesshoumaru being to close to Kagome and out of habit and anger he unsheathed Tessiaga and faced the demon fang at his brother. The rest of the group finally caught up with Inuyasha and upon seeing Kagome with Sesshoumaru they too were prepared to fight to retrieve their friend. Little did they expect that Kagome would bond herself to the youkai lord and accept his offer to help her cause although his offer was initially made so that he would be able to watch and protect her at all cost.

Kagome begins to break through the tense silence and tells Inuyasha to sheath his sword that no fighting was necessary. Inuyasha ready to protest against her demands was forced down to the ground with one of her “SIT” commands. Inuyasha peels himself off the ground and yells - What the hell did you do that for? Kagome replies – Sesshoumaru is not here to fight any of us. He has offered his assistance in being able to track down and destroy Naraku. Inuyasha is displeased with this news and notices that Kagome looks slightly different. She looks more radiant and her aura is a bright pink similar to the Shikkon no Tama when purified. However, the thing that upsets him the most is that her scent is inter-twined with that of Sesshoumaru’s. Realizing his brother’s train of thought Sesshoumaru possessively wraps his arms around Kagome and softly growls at Inuyasha for daring to think odd thoughts about his mate. The small group of companions are momentarily shocked but nevertheless quickly recover. The group still remains uneasy around Sesshoumaru, but they respect Kagome’s decision. Besides, if Kagome says he is to join their group he must not be all that bad. Kagome is a very smart judge of character.

Then as if by lightening a thought struck Miroku and he smiles wickedly at Kagome and Sesshoumaru. Sesshoumaru is displeased with the monk’s insolent reaction to comprehending the relationship between Kagome and himself but lets it slide. After all, he is Kagome’s friend and he would never do anything that would hurt Kagome. Miroku then walks over to his friend Inuyasha and drags him away from Kagome and Sesshoumaru all the while telling Inuyasha that there are shards still out there that need to be collected. This gets Inuyasha’s attention away from Kagome and Sesshoumaru and for that both Kagome and Sesshoumaru were grateful towards the lecherous monk. Sango curious to know what Miroku knows walks along beside him in which he is all to pleased to have her company. So pleased was Miroku that he grabbed Sango-chan’s rear end which only brought him down to the ground with a huge bump on his head.

Shippo not really caring to follow the rest of the group and ecstatic that his mommy is okay he eagerly jumps into her arms. Upon be nestled in her arms in a tight embrace Shippo realizes his mommy smells different and unwittingly voices his observation out loud. Kagome instinctively blushes. Sesshoumaru fails at trying to repress the smirk on his face for he is greatly pleased at the fact that Kagome - his mate, smells of his scent. He, however, is slightly miffed at how the kitsume pup is nestled tightly between Kagome’s arms like he was just recently.

Suddenly an idea strikes Sesshoumaru. He wondered if their coupling has left Kagome with his pup. So pleasing was this thought that he decided that in their next coupling interludes he would intentionally try to get Kagome with his pup if she was not carrying already.

Accepting the fact of Sesshoumaru joining their group they all headed out together on their journey to obtain the remaining shikkon shards before Naraku obtains them.
