Sesshomaru to the rescue…again!

Chapter 7 - Sesshomaru to the rescue…again!
Sesshomaru quickly walked through the wooded area following his nose and his senses of demonic energy. Each step fueled his annoyance and anger towards his younger half-brother, Inuyasha. In Sesshomaru’s mind, he being the noble demon of the West and son of the Great Inutaishou, Toga, leaves him with a notable responsibility to uphold the family name and respect. It’s already a disgrace to be associated and even related to a half-breed demon such as Inuyasha. But it’s triply embarrassing to hear about his exploits and follies at the hands of humans. With all his internal ranting, it was a convenience that Rin was not along to remind him that he himself was also associated with a human.
Finally, Sesshomaru made it to a clearing near the center of the heavily wooded area. Inuyasha’s scent, along with the smell of this mystery demon was getting stronger. Sesshomaru’s curiousity peaked as he looked around trying to find answers. Finally, off to the left of him he notices movement. It was subtle, almost like the rhythmic pulse of a beating heart. Sesshomaru caught sight of it almost immediately and charged towards it before Jaken noticed it.
At this point, Sesshomaru didn’t care what the moving mass was; he just wanted something to take out his frustrations on. Seconds before he reached it, a hideous demonic creature appeared in front of the moving object. The creature was a grotesque imitation of a female chameleon demon. The repulsive being had a feminine body but was also covered in reptilian skin and coated in some sort of oozing fluids. Despite its disgusting appearance, it was secreting a heavy pheromone scent that was causing Sesshomaru to hallucinate. No doubt this thing was trying to protect the object but Sesshomaru could care less, he continued to charge. As Sesshomaru approached, the creature threw up a demonic barrier in front of itself and the moving mass. No matter to him, Sesshomaru slashed at the barrier with his poisonous claws attack, but it absorbed his energy and the acid from his nails. To quick to stop himself, he bounced off of the barrier and spun around in such a graceful move that no one would have ever been able to guess that he was repelled by it. The force of the 2 energies colliding causes the surrounding debris to scatter revealing what appeared to be a pod. This pod, covered in the same slimy ooze that the demon was covered in, was pulsating. Unaware of its contents, both Sesshomaru and Jaken could sense Inuyasha’s demonic energy coming from it. The energy was weak and they both assumed that the creature was feeding off of it. As Sesshomaru chased after the creature, Jaken ran towards the pod and examined it. There were no holes or places to pull it apart so Jaken decided to burn it. Jaken stuck the end of the 2-headed staff into the ground. One of the head began to blow an intense fire blast towards the pod. It burned until finally it disappeared revealing an unconscious and naked Inuyasha inside. Inuyasha fell to the ground immersed in pod fluids. The shock of falling out of the enclosure woke him up quickly as he leapt to him feet.
Disoriented, Inuyasha followed his ears to the sounds of fighting. As he looked, he couldn’t believe his eyes. Sesshomaru was fighting Kikyo, or at least that is what he saw at first. Inuyasha looked down at himself and realized that not only was he missing his sword, but his clothing as well. He darted past Jaken and quickly grabbed both his pants and the Tetsusaiga
As he approached the fight, Sesshomaru slashed at the creature. “Sesshomaru!” Inuyasha screamed, “Leave Kikyo alone!”
He ran towards Sesshomaru ready to hit him with the windscar. The smell of its blood filled the area over powering the dizzying scent of the pheromones. Sesshomaru recognized the familiar scent with that he smelled earlier. Yes indeed this was the demon he sot. As the smell of the demon reached Inuyasha his visions of it changed. The Kikyo figure faded into a disgusting bloated version of a thing no doubt its true nature. Inuyasha shook his head in disbelief. Not only for its image change, but the realization that this creature was the very thing he had bedded down with and not his previous lost love. He swallowed hard against the sickness and guilt in the pits of his stomach. Kagome’s going to kill me, or worse.
The succubus demon was not very strong power-wise but it was quick and sneaky. It had managed to dodge Sesshomaru’s attacks feeding his anger and frustration. It darted past Sesshomaru only to run towards Inuyasha. Once it realized the Inuyasha was no longer under its control, it shrieked a loud and horrible scream. Inuyasha charged at the creature with his Iron Revere Soul Stealer attack, but again the creature dodged it in time. Inuyasha spun around for another attack and almost ran into Sesshomaru’s finger whip attack.
“Damnit! Exactly who are you aiming at?!” Inuyasha shouted, but as usual Sesshomaru never thinks to dignify any of Inuyasha’s questioning with an answer. The whip slashed at the creature ripping it to pieces. The remaining slimy ooze bubbled and dissolved into the ground.
Even though the creature was destroyed and the immediate danger was over, Inuyasha was still fuming mad. Not only did Sesshomaru steal his chance to kill the thing that tricked him, but he also almost killed him in the process. Something that isn’t really that much of a shock, though.
“This isn’t over Sesshomaru, explain yourself? What are you doing here?” Inuyasha was ready to charge up to Sesshomaru when he was stopped by Jaken, “You Insulate Fool! You would have been dead for sure if it wasn’t for Lord Sesshomaru! The least you could do is thank hi…” before Jaken could finish his statement, out of no where a stone came flying towards Jaken hitting him in the back and sending him flying forward. Without a word Sesshomaru turned and started to walk away. Inuyasha growled deeply to himself, not wanting to admit that Jaken was right. He stopped when Sesshomaru spoke.
“As usual you’re wearing your ignorance on your sleeve, Inuyasha. It can only expect such from a miserable half-breed.”
A cool breeze passed through the clearing. Sesshomaru angled his nose upwards to catch a scent.
“If you had any sense at all, you would concern yourself with that wench of yours back at the Miko’s village and not your petty scwobbles you have with me.”
The regal Lord of the West turned toward the scent and started walking without considering any further questions from Inuyasha. (Probably because he knew that the more he lingered, the closer Inuyasha would have gotten to the most important question of all, what was he really doing there?) Regardless of his true intentions, Sesshomaru’s reasoning will always and forever be a mystery. And just as inexplicably as he had appeared, he disappeared into the mists of the woods.
The magnitude of Sesshomaru’s words didn’t hit Inuyasha until after he had disappeared. Kagome?! What happened to Kagome? Without a single word more, Inuyasha sprinted back into the Woods in the direction of Kaeda’s village determine to find out Kagome’s fate!
