Chapter 6
Chapter 6
Inuyasha looked down from his perch in his tree to where Kagome had disappeared into the forest. I know it takes her forever to get clean but it's never taken her this long before. Maybe she fell asleep at the hot spring again. If she didn't hurry back soon he would miss his rendezvous with Kikyo tonight.
Miroku watched as Inuyasha kept looking at them than back to the forest. Kagome had been gone a short while. It wasn't unusual for Inuyasha to be impatient but he seemed more bothered by Kagome's delay than normal.
"Is everything ok Inuyasha?"
"What is taking Kagome so long? She is usually back by now. She has been gone forever." Inuyasha looked back to the forest again. Sango looked at Inuyasha with a frown. He was definitely acting strange tonight.
"I will go look for her if you are so worried Inuyasha." She stood up and walked out of the clearing following the path that Kagome had taken just a little while ago. She walked a little while when she came to the burned forest around the trail. Kagome's pack was still smoldering on the ground in the center of the blast.
"Inuyasha, Miroku come quick." She knew Inuyasha could hear her with his demon hearing. It didn't take them long to appear beside her. "Can you tell what happened here Inuyasha?"
Inuyasha slid to a stop beside Sango, Miroku joining him. He looked at the damage to the forest around them. He sniffed a few times then walked around the clearing sniffing and taking all the scents that the scene had to offer.
"Kagome and Shippou were attacked here. I don't smell the scent of death so they are alive which means they must have been taken. But I don't know what or who took her. There are no other scents around."
"How could there be no other scents. Surely you should be able to tell who took them?" Sango looked around the clearing hoping to pick up on something that Inuyasha might have missed.
"What ever did this damage is very dangerous and since we are in your brothers lands maybe he might be able to help us. I am sure that he doesn't want a being this strong running around his lands. He just might help us rescue Kagome." Miroku walked over to Sango and put his arm around her hoping to help calm her fears. He ran his hand down her back and accidentally let it slide a little bit lower than he meant too.
"Hentai!" Sango hit him on the head with her boomerang and watched as the monk slumped to the ground. "When will you get it through your thick skull that my ass is not your toy? Kagome is missing and you still act like a hentai get your priorities in order Monk."
"But Sango I didn't mean to do that." Miroku raised his hand in front of his face. The wind tunnel might be gone but my hand is still cursed. He lowered his hand and smiled at Sango.
"Save it Miroku, lets find your brother Inuyasha. The sooner we find him the sooner we might be able to find Kagome." Sango leapt on Kirara's back when she transformed.
"Uh Sango there's only one problem with your plan. I don't know how to find Sesshoumaru." Inuyasha crossed his arms glared at the demon slayer.
"What do you mean Inuyasha? Didn't you use to live here? Surely you know where his house or what ever he lives in is?" Miroku frowned at the hanyou.
"It's been years since I have been back to the castle. I was just a child when I left and I haven't been back since. How am I supposed to know where to find him? Sesshoumaru usually finds me when I am anywhere near the Western Lands. I say we wait here for him to find us. It shouldn't take long. It never does when ever we enter his lands." Inuyasha turned back to the clearing. If they had to wait he wanted it done in the clearing. Besides fighting was always better if done in the open and not in a forest.
"I suppose he knows what he is talking about. We will wait for a little while before we go looking for her." Sango went back to the clearing. "But I won't wait for too long."
Miroku just followed behind the others looking one last time at the charred forest. Inuyasha you had better not be wrong about your brother. We can't wait too long before we start our search for Kagome. He returned to the camp and settled down beside Sango to wait for the Lord of the West to find them.
Inuyasha jumped back into his tree but this time he didn't bother to settle down. His brother was most likely on his way to them any time and he didn't want to be caught unaware. Leave it to Kagome to get kidnapped just to ensure that I miss my rendezvous with Kikyo.
~A little distance away~
Kikyo sat in her tree and waited for Inuyasha to come to her. It had been a couple of months since Naraku's demise and still the stupid hanyou refused to uphold his bargain to go with her to hell. And it was all her reincarnates fault. It was because of her that he hasn't kept his word.
He may love her but after tonight he would be all hers. Tonight she would take things out of his hands. She would finish giving him the potion. The potion that she had made would ensure that he kept his word whether he meant it or not. Once he swallowed the remainder of the potion he would be hers to control. Kikyo tossed the vial into the air and caught it in her hands. Her wicked laughter sent the small animals in the forest into hiding were they cowered in fear.
