Her True Mission Revealed
Inuyasha heaved a heavy sigh as he watched Kagome perform her usual nighttime training. She truly was beautiful as she performed graceful flips and kicks. Beneath the light of the moon, she was adorned in a simple pair of red boy shorts and a matching red camisole. She glanced at him leaning against a support beam on the veranda and watching her. She waved at him for a moment before returning to her training. Inuyasha didn’t want to believe it. He didn’t want to believe that Kagome was not only Izayoi reborn, but she harbored a dragon inside of her. More or less, it explained her sudden change when she had battled Sango. Inuyasha grit his teeth in slight irritation—Kagome was a nice girl. Why the hell did she have to be wrapped up in such a fucked up battle? What if he couldn’t protect her as much as he wanted to? What if that dragon took ahold of her once more?
What if she dies?
The thought made him look at Kagome once more. The girl was so full of life and energy. She had a positive outlook on life and her persistence was admirable. A girl like her shouldn’t have been involved in a battle that she probably wouldn’t live through, but it couldn’t be helped—She was one of the main players, after all. A thought that still bothered Inuyasha was whether or not she’d accepted the Shikon Tama that would seal her fate. If she hadn’t accepted it, there was still hope. Kagome wouldn’t suffer the same fate as Izayoi and she could get out of this war alive. If she hadn’t accepted her Shikon Tama, Inuyasha would send her back to China, even if it were by force. He wanted to protect Kagome more than anything.
But since when you start to care about her?
True, Inuyasha rationalized with himself. Kagome was just an annoyance. A girl who wanted to make him her husband and wouldn’t leave until it was so. Inuyasha couldn’t help but chuckle. She had been here a little over a week now and so much crazy shit had happened, yet she took it all in strides and no matter what, she continued to smile. Inuyasha’s smile faded at the thought of something happening to Kagome and never seeing that bright smile again.
It’d kill you, admit it, Inuyasha. You’ve been trying to convince yourself that the feelings you’re starting to have for the girl are just a product of the past. Face it, those feelings aren’t HIS, they’re yours...
Inuyasha bit his lip in slight irritation. There was no way he loved the girl. Sure, he cared for her and admired her outlook on life, but there was no way he loved her. She was annoying and stubborn. She was trying to force him into marrying her and she wasn’t leaving until it was final.
Idiot, that’s not true…She’s glad just to be by your side.
Inuyasha gave another sigh. He still didn’t believe that she was content just being by his side. There was no way that was possible. She didn’t know a damn thing about him, yet she was ready to learn. True, she wasn’t even asking him to acknowledge her as his girlfriend, and she wasn’t asking anything in return—just that he acknowledged that she was alive. Inuyasha watched as Kagome stood completely still and centered her chakra perfectly. It surrounded her in a beautiful, upwards spiral and disappeared into the night. Inuyasha wondered if she was pulling that power from the dragon she harbored or Izayoi. Inuyasha sat down with a heavy sigh, his actions, enough to make Kagome walk over to him. She stood in front of him with a smile.
“Inuyasha, are you okay? Are you sleepy? You don’t have to stay up and watch me…”
“No, it’s not that. I want to talk to you.”
Kagome sat down by him, taking note that he was dressed only in a pair of black boxers. His long, black hair was pulled back and still damp from his bath. He looked at her with a sigh.
“So, do you have a Shikon Tama or not?”
Kagome remained silent for a minute and looked at his ear, seeing the small, round orb dangling from it like an earring.
“Yeah, I do.”
“Have you…”
“No. I haven’t accepted it yet.”
Inuyasha heaved a sigh of relief and stood up so abruptly, it startled Kagome.
“Good. Go home. Go back to China.”
Kagome’s eyes widened and she stood up, hands on her hips.
“What are you talking about?! You said I could stay!”
“Fuck that! You’re not staying here! It’s not too late, you can still outlive this stupid war! You won’t have to die young like the rest of us will!”
Inuyasha turned to look at Kagome and saw tears rolling down her face. Inuyasha turned his head to the side.
“Kagome…look, it’s not too late for you. You haven’t accepted your Shikon Tama. You can still live a normal life.”
“Even if I didn’t accept it, I’d still have to live with Ryumizuhime inside of me.”
Inuyasha glanced at her and saw she was trying to wipe her tears away with gusto. She looked at him and fresh tears began to spill down her cheeks.
“But, Inuyasha…what will I have to live for if you die?”
“You have your whole life in front of you! I’m telling you to go home! Go home and never let me see your fucking face again!”
Kagome took a step backwards as if she’d been hit. She balled up her fists and Inuyasha watched as she turned on her heels and ran off towards her room. Inuyasha slumped down to the ground, grabbing his face and trying to suppress a slight growl. What the hell was he supposed to do? It wasn’t too late for Kagome to change her future. As long as she was safe, what did he care about what she thought of him? She was safe—that was all that mattered.
“Inuyasha?”
He looked up and saw his mother standing there. She kneeled down beside him, and as opposed to yelling at him, as he thought she was going to do, she simply took his hand and sighed.
“I know you want Kagome to be safe, but it’s her choice whether or not she wants to stay.”
“I don’t want…”
She cut him off by shushing him slightly with a finger of his lips. She placed her hand on the side of his face and smiled gently.
“You care about her, don’t you?”
Inuyasha tried to turn his head to look away from her, but she held her hand strong upon his face. When he turned to look at her, she could see his eyes shimmering with unshed tears. It definitely alarmed her. She knew Inuyasha was starting to warm up to Kagome being there and attending school with her, but tears? So soon? Inuyasha covered his face and grit his teeth.
“Fuck! I shouldn’t even be doing this shit…! It’s not because of me that I’m doing this, it’s because of Inu No Taishou! He’s the one who cares for the girl because she’s Izayoi’s reincarnation! It’s not me!” he yelled.
Momoeiko could only hold her son as he whimpered and grit his teeth. Izayoi could only rub his soft black hair as she had done countless times since he was a little pup. Momoeiko prayed to the heavens and her late husband. She prayed that Kagome was right—Inuyasha and his friends were young, yet everyday, another Toushi died. Momoeiko held her son until he eventually fell asleep on her lap as he often did when he was upset. When the sun arose the next morning, Inuyasha was more than surprised to find Kagome gone. Momoeiko tried to console him over breakfast, but he just shrugged it off.
“It’s better if she’s gone. I hope she destroys that damn Shikon Tama of hers as well.”
Momoeiko gave a sigh as Inuyasha stood up and excused himself to go to school. As he put on his shoes at the door and grabbed his backpack, he faltered and yelled back in the house for Kagome to hurry up or else they’d be late. Momoeiko walked to the door with a sigh.
“Inuyasha…”
“Oh. Right. Anyway, I’m off!”
“Have a good day, Inuyasha.”
“Yeah…”
As he walked towards to school, he passed by the same park where he’d first seen Kagome. He stopped for a minute, ignoring the feeling of pain in his heart. It was for the better—By this time tomorrow, Kagome would be in China and wouldn’t have to worry about wars, or dying or anything like that. More importantly, he was free. Inuyasha smirked a little as he realized that with Kagome gone, girls would be flocking to him once more. He realized his popularity with the ladies had waned, though not by much. With Kagome gone and not declaring to be his fiancée, girls would come back to him just like that. As he approached his school, he expected to be greeted by his usual brigade of fangirls, but not today. Inuyasha dropped his bag in horror at the sight that greeted him as he stood in the gates of Mizuryu high school. It looked like a battleground—There were bodies of both female and male students scattered all around. Some were wounded pretty badly; some were completely unresponsive. He turned in a slow circle, his eyes wide with fury. Who or what the fuck had done this?
“Inu…yasha…”
Inuyasha quickly turned and saw a female student reaching up to him. He remembered her very well—they’d shared many nights together. She was beautiful and had short, brown hair and brown eyes. He rushed over to her and kneeled down. Her face was bruised up, her uniform was tearing off of her body, and she had various wounds upon her arms and legs.
“Haruko! What happened here?!”
He held her in his arms and she whimpered slightly. She knew her wounds weren’t as bad as her classmates, but to be held by Inuyasha once more was a wonderful feeling. She smiled weakly.
“Those bastards…from Houryu…have come to pay us a visit. There were four of them…then…N…Naraku…”
She reached up and grabbed his blue sweater-vest as another pain tore through her body. Inuyasha steadied her and breathed deeply.
“Hey, it’s okay. Take it easy…”
“We really tried to protect Mizuryu…”
“Hey, say no more. I’m here now. Everything is gonna be alright…!”
She shook her head as another pain forced her to moan in pain. Maybe she was worse off than she’d thought.
“No…we waited too long. Our leader left us…Inuyasha…please, don’t let Mizuryu fall…!”
She stilled in his arms and Inuyasha shook her slightly. When he saw that she was breathing slightly, he was relieved. He was almost certain that amongst the sea of bodies, he’d find some who were killed in this massacre. Inuyasha quickly stood up when he wondered about Miroku, Sango and Shippo. He grabbed his bag and hurried into the school, but it wasn’t any better than what he’d found outside. The bodies of students lined the hallways, which had been damaged almost beyond repair. Lockers were bent in, windows were blown out…Inuyasha balled up his fist and rushed to the main computer room. He slammed the door open, yelling out Shippo’s name, but it hitched in his throat when he’d seen the state-of-the-art computers and security system wrecked and flames coming from the master computer where Shippo usually sat. On the ground, there was a puddle of blood that led to a familiar, blue ribbon laying on the ground. He picked up the blood-soaked ribbon and clenched it in his hands. This ribbon was Shippo’s pride and joy—a gift from his girlfriend Saiyuri. He’d never taken it off, for any reason. A sudden banging sound made his head snap up as he looked around for the source of the sound. It was coming from beneath the master computer, through the floor. A muffled girl’s screams could be heard beneath a large tile on the floor. He pushed the computer out of the way and kneeled down trying to find some sort of way to lift the tile. He managed to shimmy his fingers beneath it, but moving it was a different story. It was metallic, much to his surprise. When he finally pushed it aside, he saw Saiyuri staring up at him from the ground. Her long, brown hair was tattered and her brown eyes were filled with fear. She had a few bruises and scratches on her, but other than that, she was fine.
“Inuyasha-dono!” she said relieved.
“Saiyuri!”
He kneeled down and lifted her out of the hiding place and sat her on her feet. She instantly sank to her knees, a blank look on her face. Inuyasha knew the look on her face and quickly kneeled in front her and pulled her sweater vest over her head. He unbuttoned her blouse until he could see the familiar diamond shape output plug just above her breasts. He looked around, realizing if he didn’t help her soon, she was going to ‘die’.
“Inu…Inuyasha…dono…”
He looked at her and saw the ‘soulless’ look in her beautiful brown eyes.
“Saiyuri, what happened here?!”
“Sh…Shippo-Sama…he was running a routine diagnostic…on the main computer…”
Her voice garbled for a minute before she continued.
“…attacked us…Shippo-Sama put me…hiding roof…Inu...yasha…dono…help him…”
Inuyasha watched her eyes close and watched as her body went limp. He picked her up, realizing she weighed a ton, despite her delicate appearance. With some maneuvering, he placed her on his back and hurried out of the room, leaping over bodies and such until he came to the stairs of the roof. He rushed up the stairs as fast as his feet would go and he slammed open the door only to see a scene that left his blood cold. A large guy with wild hair, wearing a white blouse and a red tie. With a smirk on his face, he was forcing Miroku’s arms behind his back with one arm and holding long, steel claws to his throat with the other. Miroku had looked beaten, bruised and no better than any of the students Inuyasha had encountered. Miroku was being forced to watch, helplessly, another guy were subduing Sango. One guy wearing a bright red head scarf stood behind her, his arm over her throat and forcing her head back, all the while forcing her arms behind her back. He seemed to be enjoying the terrified look on Sango’s face and licked the side of her cheek. She turned her head to the side in disgust.
“Now, now, if you don’t hold still, Jakotsu’s aim wouldn’t be as good and you’ll lose a lot more than just your clothes.”
Inuyasha watched as a flash of light charged at Sango and shredded the clothes off of her body, with the exception of her light pink panties. The boys chuckled and hooted, but Miroku was more than enraged. A girl wielding a large sword walked over to Sango who looked to be on the verge of tears. She wore a bright red pleated mini skirt, a white blouse and a red tie. Her black platform loafers clicked on the white concrete as she neared Sango.
“Honestly, I’ll never understand the fascination with women’s bodies. Then again…”
Sango whimpered her disgust when the girl leaned down to her naked breasts and dragged her tongue over the hardened nipples exposed to the cool air.
“I’ve always been curious to taste the body of Mizuryu’s Sango. But, I’d be willing to bet that Bankotsu-Chan would like the first taste, so…”
She took her sword and ripped the sides of Sango’s panties. Sango clenched her thighs together in hopes of keeping the wispy material from falling away from her and exposing her to those bastards.
“Get away from her!” a voice growled.
Sango looked up, tears of joy streaming down her face when she saw Inuyasha there, with Saiyuri on his back nonetheless. His face was twisted into a snarl and he looked ready to kill someone.
“Aw, come on now, don’t ruin our fun.”
Inuyasha watched as the source of the voice emerged from the shadows. He was wearing Houryu’s high school uniform compiled of a white uniform, a red tie and black slacks. His long, black hair was put in a thin braid and trailing down his back. He walked over to Sango and smirked.
“Unless you want a taste of her too, Inuyasha Takahashi? There’s plenty of enough to go around…”
“Get your hands away from her…!” Miroku raged.
The boy looked at the raging man being held back by the thought of decapitation by Suikotsu. He turned and looked at Inuyasha who had yet to make a move.
“Hey, you have a woman. Hand her over.” He said casually.
“Over my dead body.” Inuyasha growled, taking a step backwards.
“Well, that can be arranged. Look at how pretty you are…” the girl cooed.
Inuyasha stepped back as the girl stepped forward and it dawned on Inuyasha—either this girl was horribly flat-chested or…
“Yeah, check out how pretty you are. I’d hate to kill such a pretty guy.”
Inuyasha cringed—Jakotsu was a guy with a very pretty face and wearing a girl’s uniform. He looked past Jakotsu in favor of the guy holding Sango’s naked body, feeling her round breasts and trying to force his hand between Sango’s thighs. Miroku raged, swearing death and a lot worse if he didn’t take his hands off of Sango. Inuyasha was stuck—If he charged at Sango to help her, he risked Saiyuri getting hurt or worse. Before he had a minute to act, he felt something blunt, hard and metallic clock him on the back of his head. As he fell to the ground, Saiyuri rolled off of his back and laid on the ground next to him, just as unconscious as he was about to be. He looked up, his vision blurring before finally succumbing to the darkness.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
His head hurt like all hell when consciousness slowly began to seep into his mind.
”Hey, you aren’t dead…That’s it…open those pretty eyes of yours…” a feminine voice chuckled.
Inuyasha’s eyes slowly opened, his vision blurry and unclear. When it finally did, he saw Jakotsu kneeling in front of him with a smirk on his face. Inuyasha’s first instinct was to jump at him, but when he felt his arms and legs bound to the railing on the roof, he knew he was more than fucked. He looked around and saw Miroku’s beaten and bloodied body tied up next to him and opposite of Miroku was Shippo in equally bad shape. Both were unfortunately conscious and had their eyes locked on the sight in front of them. Inuyasha turned his eyes front, past Jakotsu and Sango on her knees, being held down there by Suikotsu and Renkotsu, both smirking nastily.
“Inuyasha, you’re finally awake, huh? Good, wouldn’t want you to miss the show.”
Inuyasha’s eyes widened when he saw Bankotsu holding a nearly naked Saiyuri, who hadn’t regained consciousness and Inuyasha, Shippo and Miroku didn’t expect her to for some time. Shippo pulled at his restraints with a growl and yelled at Bankotsu to let her go.
“I swear to God, if you hurt her…” Shippo growled.
“Calm your jets, gaijin, I plan on treating her nice and gentle. Or, rough, depending on who wants her first. She sure is a sweet little piece, isn’t she?” Bankotsu chuckled.
“What the fuck do you want, Bankotsu?!” Miroku raged.
“Well, isn’t it obvious?”
Jakotsu moved out of the way for Bankotsu to kneel down to Inuyasha’s eye level. Bankotsu raised his hand up to Inuyasha’s face and began to stroke it gently. Inuyasha cringed at the feeling of being touched so intimately by a man.
“Don’t touch me!”
“Now, now, where’s the fun in that?” Bankotsu smirked.
“Just tell me what the fuck you Houryu bastards want? Where’s Naraku?!”
“He came and went. I believe it was around the time he clocked you out. But, don’t worry, he left us in charge to take care of delivering the message.”
“And that is?” Miroku asked spitefully.
“The complete and total surrender of Mizuryu high school, obviously. I mean, let’s face it, you guys have been without a leader for some time now…Besides, what choice do you have in the matter? Would you, Inuyasha Takahashi, rather save your precious school or the women your guys are with?”
When Inuyasha took too long for Bankotsu’s taste to reply with an answer, he sighed and snapped his fingers. Suikotsu forced Sango from her kneeling position and pushed her forwards until she was bending over. Miroku’s skin blanched. Sure, Sango wasn’t a virgin, Miroku had seen to that little detail freshman year, but the fact they were touching his sacred woman…
“STOP IT NOW!”
Inuyasha and Shippo watched Miroku pull at his restraints like a madman until they began to cut into his wrists.
“Don’t touch her! Don’t you fucking touch her!”
“Ugh, so noisy. Jakotsu, if you don’t mind…” Bankotsu sighed.
Jakotsu stood up and walked over to Miroku, kneeling down in front of him. He bracketed his pretty face with his hands and locked his lips with Miroku’s, quite enjoying the pleasure. Miroku’s eyes widened as Jakotsu slipped his tongue inside of his mouth and could feel the sickness rising to his throat. Inuyasha glared at the unimaginable bastard named Bankotsu. He was getting ready to give Renkotsu the go ahead to rape Sango and by the looks of it, that smarmy bastard was going to enjoy every minute of it…
“You want Mizuryu…? Fine…” Inuyasha began.
“I’ll have to ask you to think before giving away my school, Inuyasha.” A familiar, but unseen voice chuckled.
Bankotsu and his brothers looked around for the source of the voice. When the ground began to shake, they turned their attention to the railing where Inuyasha, Miroku and Shippo were all still bound. Raising up from behind them was a familiar spiral of blue chakra, shaped like a dragon, with Kagome sitting casually on the head of the dragon, one leg crossed over the other.
“K…Kagome…!” Inuyasha barely stammered out.
Kagome jumped onto the roof with ease, the dragon disappearing the moment she landed. She stood in front of the boys, her fists balled up by her sides. She proudly sported the Mizuryu uniform: plaid mini-mini skirt, white blouse, and light-blue bow…
“Well, damn! Lookie here!” Bankotsu smirked.
“And you are?” Jakotsu asked, walking over to Bankotsu.
“First year, Higurashi Kagome, leader of Mizuryu high school. Sorry I’m late. I never could get up for school in time.”
Inuyasha and Miroku and Shippo looked at each other and then at Sango, who seemed equally surprised by the news that Kagome was assuming power as Mizuryu’s leader.
“Really, a first year? Leader of this dump?” Renkotsu asked.
“You really think it’s a dump? I don’t know, it’s kind of…lived-in.” Kagome said casually and with a smile.
Now was not the time for comedy, Inuyasha could only think. Why the hell was she here? He’d told her to leave last night, yet here she was.
“Anyway, I hear you have a message for me?” Kagome asked, stepping forward.
“Yeah…”
“Well, let me just say this,” Kagome began.
She stepped forward, putting her hand on Bankotsu’s chest with a smile. She rubbed her hand all over his chest, prompting him to rest his arms around her waist.
“Damn, girl, are you trying to negotiate with me? I suppose I can be…persuaded if you try hard enough?”
“Really?” Kagome smirked.
She allowed herself to be pulled closer to Bankotsu and leaned up to kiss him.
“I’ll definitely try my hardest then. I mean, after all…”
Her eyes narrowed as her hand finally found the spot on his chest she’d been looking for.
“…I’ll still need you alive to deliver my message.”
Bankotsu’s brothers watched as his entire began to glow. Kagome wrapped her arms around Bankotsu, embracing him tightly. The wind began to pick up, surrounding the both of them. When it died down, she released him and looked at Renkotsu.
“Now, now, is that any way to treat a lady? Bankotsu, be a dear…”
When Bankotsu charged at Renkotsu with blood on his mind and a soulless look in his eye, Renkotsu knew he was fucked.
“Bankotsu, what the fuck are you doing?!”
“You bitch, what did you do to him…!?”
Jakotsu ran at Kagome, but she gracefully turned and planted both of her hands on Jakotsu’s chest.
“I think you should be a dear and help your brother.”
Jakotsu’s arms fell to his side limply. Jakotsu spun on his heels and charged at Suikotsu. While the two brothers battled each other, Kagome kneeled down in front of Inuyasha and began to undo his restraints.
“Idiot! What the hell are you doing here?!”
“Saving your ass, you ass! I love how grateful you are!”
Kagome stood up when she was done untying him and smirked.
“Now, I’ve got a job to do. Help your friends.”
Kagome walked towards the battling brothers and crossed her hands over her chest. It was then Inuyasha could see the very thin strings coming from her fingers. She lashed them at Suikotsu and Renkotsu who both froze.
“Now, let’s have some fun, shall we?”
A blue light surrounded both brothers and before they even knew it, they were fighting each other in a violent manner. Kagome severed the strings from her fingers and sat down to watch the massacre. She trusted Inuyasha to help his friends, so she felt like her work was done. When she turned to look at her freed friends, Miroku was holding Sango close to him, wrapping his school jacket around her shoulders and covering her naked body. Shippo held Saiyuri close to him, even though she was still very unresponsive. She was ice-cold at this point and he feared the worst. Inuyasha walked over to Kagome and put his hand on her shoulder. She turned to look at him with a sigh.
“Are you hurt anywhere?”
“I’ll be fine. Why the fuck are you back here?”
“Why else? I’ll be taking over Mizuryu. I have my orders too, you know.”
“Orders from who?!” Inuyasha raged.
Kagome shrugged her shoulders and could only smile.
“Don’t worry about it. Now, this circus has gone on long enough.”
Kagome snapped her fingers and all four brothers fell to the ground, bloodied, beaten and much worse off than Inuyasha or the other guys. Kagome walked over to them, standing over them, her hand on her hip. Bankotsu glanced up at her, half-dead. He saw her shadow, not resembling her own, curvy form, but that of a dragon’s.
“You’d better deliver that message to your leader. Get going.”
Bankotsu opened his mouth to respond, but grit his teeth and pulled himself to his feet, gathering his brothers. They couldn’t have left any faster. Kagome walked over to the railing to make sure they’d left the school grounds, littered with the bodies of students. When she saw them leave, she noticed Bankotsu look back up at her. Over the school, he saw the shadowed figure of a dragon hovering over her and Mizuryu. He knew they were fucked for sure this time. Limping slightly, he and his brothers left Mizuryu. Kagome turned to face her friends who were all staring at her. She sighed slightly, tucking her hair behind her left ear. Inuyasha’s world shattered. Sure enough, there it was—The blue Shikon Tama that proved her to be a Toushi.
“You…you didn’t…!”
“I’m just as apart of this war as you are, Inuyasha.”
Inuyasha bit his lip in pure rage. She’d actually accepted her Shikon Tama and her fate. Kagome’s hourglass had officially been turned and one, by one, the grains of sand were beginning to fall against her.
“Moreover,” she sighed.
She turned and looked at the grounds of the school. Students wearing pure, white school uniforms with only black ties were rushing in, tending to the students. Inuyasha walked over to the railing and glanced the scene.
“Those uniforms…!”
“Yeah…I went to Yukiryu. I asked them for their help. We’re going to need it to rebuild Mizuryu and make it stronger. This cannot happen again. Inuyasha, take care of things. I’m going to meet with Yukiryu’s leader.”
“Oh, like hell you are! I’m going with you.”
“Go get treated. I’ll be right back.”
Without another word, she spun on her heels and hurried off of the roof. Everyone walked over to the railing and saw Kagome dashing across the courtyard in time to greet a man with long, beautiful, silver-white hair. He was wearing a pure white school uniform, with blue trim on the cuffs and going down his blouse where it zipped up. Kagome bowed to him for a moment and he placed his hand on her shoulder. She looked up at him, suddenly wrapping her arms around him tightly. Inuyasha gripped the railing in pure rage. Was it to be assumed Kagome was close with Yukiryu’s leader? He raised his hand and summoned more students from Yukiryu. The Four Devas of Mizuryu watched as more Yukiryu students began tending to the wounded students. Within just two, short hours, the courtyard and hallways were cleared of the bodies of their fallen comrades. Two Yukiryu girls, dressed in the identical, pure, white pleated skirts and white blouses with black ties tended to Sango. One offered to help Saiyuri, but Shippo protested, saying she needed special help. He carried her limp and very heavy, delicate body to the burned out computer room. He locked himself in there while Inuyasha and Miroku, who’d been treated by the two, Yukiryu girls, went off in search of Kagome and the Yukiryu leader. They found them conversing by the gates of Mizuryu. Kagome acknowledged their presence with a smile.
“Boys, this is Taishou Sesshoumaru-San.”
Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha locked eyes. This was the direct descendent of Inu No Taishou, yet it was Inuyasha himself who possessed his Shikon Tama. Sesshoumaru removed his square, silver-rimmed glasses and looked at the school with a sigh.
“You certainly do know how to make a fine mess of things. I expected nothing less of the younger sibling of Kaizuka Souta.”
Inuyasha and Miroku shot Kagome the same, questioning look. Kaizuka Souta was the MIA leader of Mizuryu High School. Souta hadn’t been seen in months…
“Wait a minute…! What are you saying? That you’re Kaizuka’s kid sister?!” Inuyasha raged.
“Well, it’s nice to see your hearing works. Yes, Higurashi Kagome is the younger sibling of my dear acquaintance.”
Inuyasha shot a glare in Sesshoumaru’s direction, then looked at Kagome who could only smile with a nod as she turned to look up at Sesshoumaru.
“Yes, have you spoken with Niisama lately?”
“No, it has been some time.”
“I’m sorry, if I am slow to understand this, but…are you telling me that Kaizuka abandoned us and sent his sister in his place?” Miroku asked with a sigh.
Kagome slapped him so hard, his entire cheek turned red.
“My brother didn’t ‘abandon’ anyone! He had his reasons!” she snapped.
“Yeah, tell that shit to Sango.” Miroku replied bitingly.
Miroku turned and left. Inuyasha looked at Kagome and Sesshoumaru before following his friend. Kagome sighed and looked at the ground.
“It’s beyond me why you want to marry someone so beneath you, Higurashi-San.”
“It’s not that he’s beneath me or anything like that…It’s just, this is probably a lot to deal with right now. I mean, when you called me here on my brother’s behalf, I was excited, especially if it meant seeing Inuyasha again.”
“Why did you decide at the last minute to take over Mizuryu for your brother? When you approached me earlier this morning, I almost thought you were coming to declare war.”
“You’re the only tie I have to my brother. That and this high school. Now that I have accepted my Shikon Tama, I believe it’s only right to take over as its leader. You’ll stand by us, won’t you?”
“This Sesshoumaru will keep his promise made to your brother. Come, let us talk more inside. The sun is getting warm.”
Kagome gave a nod and began following him in silence. What would her friends think? It wasn’t like she was trying to hide anything from them, but it wasn’t as if she knew the situation fully either. As they walked past the main computer laboratory, the sounds of tinkering could be heard inside. Kagome slid open the door to the room and say Saiyuri sitting on a stool next to a laptop Shippo was using.
“Saiyuri-San! You’re awake!”
Kagome walked over to Saiyuri, but she kept her narrowed eyes to the ground and didn’t respond. Sesshoumaru walked over to her and saw the cord leading from the girl’s blouse and to the computer. Shippo smiled up at Kagome, showing the least of spite for her. In fact, he was very happy to see her.
“Shippo, what’s going on? Is Saiyuri alright?”
“Oh, she’s fine. Because she was shut down for so long, there are a few files I need to back up, but otherwise, she’s fine.”
“Files? Backing up? Do you mean that…?” Kagome asked, eyes wide.
“Well, I never imagined I’d actually see her. A very good hiding place, but then again, I’d never expect anything less of the great Shippou Tamashou.”
“Mm, thanks. Anyway, Kagome-Chan, I won’t go into details right now, but Saiyuri-Chan is my main computer. I built her a few years ago to help me maintain all of the schools files and everything. She’s password encrypted and really smart.”
Kagome stared in awe at Saiyuri. That would explain why Saiyuri had been so heavy when she was ‘shut down’. Saiyuri was a life-sized computer put together and maintained by the little prodigy. It explained why Saiyuri was never seen without Shippo.
“Anyway, she should be back up to maximum efficiency pretty soon. I’ll give you a ring when she’s finished, Kagome-Sama.”
Kagome could only smile at the show of respect Shippou had for her. She and Sesshoumaru turned to leave him to his work. Shippou looked at Kagome and smiled.
“Don’t worry, I’ve always known you would come for us, Kagome-Sama. I just knew it.”
Kagome was very touched by his words, but was quickly reminded by the stern Sesshoumaru that leaders weren’t supposed to show weakness. As Kagome and Sesshoumaru walked through the hallways, she could see the Yukiryu students hard at work, helping to restore the damage Mizuryu had sustained. The students were being treated very well.
“Sesshoumaru, I cannot thank you enough.”
“Make no great matter of it. I was very close to Kaizuka Souta. I’d do any sort of favor for him without complaint. But, I suppose my question is, will you be alright?”
Kagome leaned against a wall and sighed, turning her head to look out of a shattered window. It was sunset once more.
“I’m going to have no choice but to be. I’m Mizuryu’s leader, after all.”

Anyway, here’s the latest chapter and piece of the puzzle! I hope you guys enjoyed it! Happy Holidays!!!! I'm officially back down in my own, little QUIET apartment, so expect more updates!!!!)
