Chapter 6
Disclaimer: I don't own Inuyasha, Shiro is my own character.
Beta: Dark Avenger
Scuba Hanyou Ch. 6
Shiro awoke around ten in the morning. The rain from the tropical storm was pouring down outside the window. The hanyou sat up slowly, careful not to wake Inuyasha nor the girl between them. He got up from the bed and made his way to the bathroom down the hall. He knew he was naked, but was used to being that way in Inuyasha's house.
------------------------------
The hot water cascaded down the hanyou's chiseled body, running through his hair and down his back to caress his tight ass, then down his thighs and calves to stream down onto the tile and then into the drain. Shiro stood in the shower, it was big enough to easily hold 7 people, it had frosted glass walls and three shower heads. With all three heads pouring steaming water onto the hanyou, he took in a deep breath.
He had been thinking a lot about Inuyasha. He had finally accepted that he really loved Inuyasha and that he could easily think of him as a mate, but the girl Kagome had thrown a kink into his plans. It was a nice kink because of what she had done for him and Inuyasha, yet Shiro was still not sure of Kagome's feelings for either of them.
The Inu-hanyou moaned as he felt hands come from behind and run along his stripes on his hips. He gasped as one raised from his hips to his stars on his chest and began to lightly scratch them. He could tell by the blunt finger tips, that it was Kagome.
"Ahh, Kagome. Not now, ok?" Shiro managed, hurt in his voice, while he shoved her hands away. "I just need to shower and then I have to go home for a while, will you tell Inuyasha for me?" he asked solemnly.
"O-okay, Shiro, um, do you just not like me or what?" Kagome asked.
"It's... it's not that Kagome. I really don't want to explain." With that he stepped out of the shower and began to dry off, leaving Kagome in the shower alone.
Shiro dressed downstairs and went out the door to walk across the town to his own home.
-----------------------------------
While on the slushy dirt road on the island, Shiro walked through the rain. His wranglers getting soaked all the way through and his boots getting covered in mud. As he made his way to the high dollar houses on the island, he got onto the paved road and was quickly at the doorstep of a very expensive mansion. It wasn't just huge, but was larger than Inuyasha's and Sesshoumaru's house put together.
This was the life that Inuyasha never knew about. He had really never asked Shiro what it was he did. No one would have guessed a hanyou, much less one dressed in a country boy attire would own something as grand as this estate. Shiro unlocked his front door and entered the foyer, kicking off his boots and stripping down to nothing. No one lived in the house with him, so he didn't care as he left the clothes in the middle of the floor and he made his way up to the master bedroom to change.
The house was magnificent, when Shiro's parents had died, he had inherited his father's fortune and added it to his own. He quickly moved to an Island away from the United States, though this was not the only reason for the move. Shiro shook his head trying to forget that reason, it wasn't something he enjoyed.
With his fresh change of clothes, he lay down onto his king size bed with silken sheets. Pillows all around he curled into a ball and quickly fell into dreams filled with his lover.
------------------------------------
"He went where?" Inuyasha asked.
He was still waking up. When he had opened his eyes, he found himself alone in bed and had gone searching the house. He could tell Shiro had already left, his scent old, and Kagome was just getting out of the shower from the sound of the water being turned off.
"Shiro said he had to go home. I better be getting back to my hotel room anyway, Inuyasha. Sango will definitely be worried," Kagome said biting her lip.
She wasn't looking forward to telling the government agent what she had been doing all night. All that government training had made Sango hate demons, and hate hanyous even more. Kagome really couldn't blame Sango, anyone who worked in the Department of Demon Affairs as an exterminator was against demons. Kagome knew enough of them to be able to make that statement.
"Hey, Inuyasha where's Katana? I haven't seen him since I came over," Kagome asked.
Inuyasha was too busy trying to figure out where exactly Shiro lived. 'All this time with him and I never asked him were he lived, I'm such a fuck up,' Inuyasha thought to himself.
"Who's Kata... oh, he's, ahhh, he's Shiro's dog. I was just keeping him for the day," Inuyasha quickly lied.
He listened to his stomach growl and decided that it would be in his best interest to go eat. He waved to Kagome as she left out the door and Inuyasha was soon headed next door to his brother's house. He would eat and have a discussion with Sesshoumaru about a certain hanyou and clear up some matters on the mating ritual with Inu-youkai, if his brother would explain.
-----------------------------------
Shiro awoke to a thunderclap produced by the storm outside. He sat up and rubbed the sleep out of his eyes. It was dark outside so he must have slept all day. His stomach ached, so he got up and went to his kitchen, turning on the lights as he went.
While he prepared his meal, hamburger meat and rice, he watched the lightening show outside of the kitchen window. The aroma of his food caused him to look down and put it into a bowl for him to eat. He made his way to the leather couch and his big screen TV and began watching a movie that was on one of the satellite channels.
He was in the middle of eating when a pounding at his door disturbed him. Shiro cursed himself for leaving on the lights and letting people know he was home. He loved people as guests, but from the scent of the ones at his door and the blood he knew it wasn't good.
He opened the door and it revealed that his nose had not lied. Kouga, the wolf demon, and some of his men where pretty beat up and standing at his door.
"Doc, thank god your home. We kinda got into a rough spot," Kouga said smiling.
"Please don't call me that, Kouga. I'm in no hurry to help you. You've never paid me for the last time I helped you," Shiro spat out, with distaste.
"Doc, come on, please... my men are hurt and I'm seriously wounded," Kouga pleaded.
It was about this time Shiro noticed Kouga clutching his stomach and the blood dripping on his doorstep. He knew he couldn't leave the wolves out in the rain. Shiro stepped back and waved his hand, gesturing for them to come in.
"You know the way to the basement Kouga," Shiro mumbled to the wet wolf.
"Thanks, Doc. I owe you one," Kouga replied through his pain-cleched teeth.
"You owe me at least two, and stop calling me Doc, that was a long time ago," Shiro yelled at the wolf.
"Sorry, Dr. InuToshiro, but I thought that was who you were. The best doctor in demon medicine in the state of Texas and probably the United States. Is that who you are, half-breed?" Kouga yelled back.
As they entered the basement, the lights flickered on, revealing a state of the art medical facility. Shiro had this built hoping to never need it, but to at least have one in case of emergencies. Thankfully the only use it had ever seen was patching up some people and a few surgeries that were life or death cases, even a small kitsune child, if he remembered correctly.
Shiro had buried his past and used a shortened version of his name, the name his parents called him as a child. He hated working for only the super rich demons and then being cast aside as a hanyou when all was said and done.
"That was a long time ago in the U.S. Kouga, I've moved here to get away from that," Shiro mumbled to the wolf.
----------------------------------
Shiro put the last stitch in a wolf called Ginta and sent him on his way out of his house, then looked over at Kouga. Even though he was injured worse than any of the others, he had demanded that his men be fixed first. Shiro nodded at a surgical table with a huge lamp over it, implying that Kouga should go and lay down on it.
Kouga laid down on the cold metal table, he sucked in a breath as the metal touched his skin. He watched as Shiro professionaly looked him over, evaluating his condition.
"Kouga take off your clothes, your injuries are more serious than you think," Shiro commanded.
The wolf youkai did as he was told, removing his clothes and throwing them on the floor. Shiro began to feel him all over and Kouga found himself becoming aroused by the half demon's touch. So he decided to distract himself, as Shiro neared his awakening member, he couldn't help himself.
"Hey, Doc, shouldn't you be tellin' me to turn my head and cough, ha ha ha," Kouga laughed, then groaned with pain as Shiro dug a gloved hand into his midsection.
Kouga tried to stay conscious from the pain, but soon couldn't take it much longer. In a panting wail he went limp onto the table, startling Shiro at first, but then he realized the wolf had only passed out and he continued to work on him.
Demon's were usually able to heal by themselves, but at times, they need medical treatment, as everyone does. Shiro was masked and gloved in his sterile surgery room. He was sewing up Kouga's midsection, with any luck his body would dissolve the stitches and heal by morning.
As Shiro finished, he pulled his mask and gloves off and picked up the wolf putting him in a spare bedroom in the house. As he laid him down, the wolf began to stir, regaining consciousness. Shiro saw his eyes open and then Shiro's neck erupted in pain, he could feel his hot blood leaving his body through the wound Kouga had inflicted. Shiro turned to get to his basement in hopes to stop the bleeding, but he had only enough time to glance back at Kouga's face which was of shock and fear.
Kouga regained consciousness to a form leaning over him, then instincts took over. He struck with his claws and delivered a life threatening slash across the jugular vain. As he focused his eyes, he saw it was Shiro that he had struck and was afraid he might have killed the hanyou who had just helped him. The wolf watched as Shiro turned to run but then looked back before collapsing to the ground from blood loss. Kouga did the only thing he could think of, he licked the wound hoping his saliva would be enough to heal it. He could only hope Shiro hadn't lost too much blood.
-----------------------------------
Inuyasha sat on the couch in Sesshoumaru's house. He and Rin couldn't explain what was going on with Sesshoumaru. Rin had only said that she had be awoken that morning with Sesshoumaru's heavy panting on the couch and when she came to check on him, he had screamed, curled up into a ball, and then passed out.
Neither one were familiar with demon medicine. Inuyasha wished Shiro had been there, he was smart and knew a lot of things that most didn't. Inuyasha could never explain why, but knew there was more to the hanyou than he showed. But, right now Sesshoumaru was his main concern, he wasn't well.
They had moved the inu-youkai to the bedroom and covered him with cool wet towels trying to cool him off. He was hot to the touch and was sweating profusely. He had not regained consciousness and was only murmuring every now and then.
Inuyasha went outside into the cool night air, it had quit raining for a while, but the clouds still covered the sky. He sat in a chair facing the beach listening to the waves roll in and then was back out, it was a calming sound. His ears perked up as he heard a childish voice not to far off, he tracked it and found that it and another person were coming closer.
"Granny Kaede, can we please go home now? It's getting late." the voice pleaded.
"No, child. We must sell the rest of this before we go home," came the reply.
The hanyou watched as an old woman and a young kitsune boy walked down the beach. They were Kaede and Shippou, two locals that tried to make extra money by selling homemade goods and pastries. He sniffed as they neared and he caught the scent of spice cake, he loved Kaede's spice cake. 'So does Shiro,' Inuyasha thought sadly to himself. Inuyasha had yet to hear from the other hanyou. 'Wait, Shiro buys things from Kaede all the time,' he thought.
"Hey, Kaede. I'll take two loaves of your spice cake," the hanyou said as they began to pass him.
"Ehh, Inuyasha. Ye never call me by my name, whatever is the matter?" Kaede asked, puzzled.
"I need to find Shiro. I... I don't know where he lives. I know he always buys things from you and asks you to bring it by his house, could you tell me where he lives?" Inuyasha was beginning to get excited when she began nodding her head.
"Aye, he lives just off Crestline Drive, Inuyasha. His is the second house on the left. That'll be twenty-three dollars," Kaede said as she gave him the loaves of cake.
Inuyasha took them, handing Kaede a fifty and telling her to keep the change. He quickly went to his house dropping off the food and getting into his pickup. As he began to back out of his driveway, his windshield started to be splattered with rain drops.
