Rivals in love

Inuyasha heard the crack as his head slammed into the stone behind him, a small trickle of blood ran down his forehead and into his left eye. He cried out, but not because of the throbbing pain rushing through his skull, but rather the agony of the tentacles that had pierced through his newly restored skin, still tinted a silvery pink.

The blood spilled from his abdomen in cupfuls, his insides not yet completely healed and the force of the penetration ripped them open anew while making several new tears.

Naraku retracted his protruding appendages and watched from behind the shimmering crimson barrier as Inuyasha collapsed to his knees, clutching his midsection as his blood coated his hand and stained the earth beneath him a deep red.

Naraku chuckled, there was no way the hanyou could survive this. He was loosing too much blood too quickly. “In a few moments Inuyasha, you will be dead. You know that, don’t you?”

Inuyasha tried to growl but it came out as a harsh moan as the room spun around him. Dimmit it wasn’t the first time he’d been pierced through the torso, why did this affect him so much?!

It really didn’t matter much; because in the next moment the world around him fogged and he collapsed into the darkness he had become so familiar with these past few days. He wondered where Kouga was, and if he would be safe if Naraku was still around when he returned.

…what would be his reaction when he found his dead body in the cave? ‘Heh, guess I’m giving up aren’t I?’ he thought before completely succumbing to the yawning shadows of his subconscious.

Naraku chuckled again, watching the growing pool of crimson surrounding the fallen inu hanyou. Hid dark eyes gazed around the cave, taking in the obvious events that had transpired not too long ago.

If he could feel anything for the pathetic dog before him it would be pity, he had never thought to torture the man like the wolf had, the pain he had inflicted upon Inuyasha paled in comparison.

Snorting he turned and exited the cave, nothing could be done now, Inuyasha’s life was nothing but a few fleeting heartbeats away from fading and the biggest pain in his ass would be no more. He disappeared into the dark trees clustering around the cave, not bothering to acknowledge the faint scent trail the wolf had left in his need to escape what he had done.

Well, its been a while but there is the next chapter! I honestly dont know where I'm going now, Should I save Inuyasha? Should I leave him to die? Should I let him die then bring him back?!

I have to go ponder my choices for a while.
