Hello?” Kagome spoke into the receiver.
“Hey Kag, guess what?” an excited voice answered.
“What Sango?” replied Kagome, absentmindedly wrapping a finger around the telephone cord. ‘Great, now I’ll be stuck here for the next 30 minutes and Mom expects me back now.’
“I’m throwing a pool party to celebrate the end of school. I was hoping you could come.”
“Oh, well when is it?”
“This Saturday.”
‘Crap, I’ll be helping my Mom, She'll will never let me come back.’
I’m sorry, but I’m a little busy this weekend,” Kagome answered, sadness tinting her voice.
“Oh Kagome I’m sorry. I really wish you could come. I hardly get to see you anymore! And it wasn’t going to be a big party. Just Miroku, Ayame and a few more friends from school. Oh, and Kouga will be there as well.”
‘Darn you Mom! I never get to hang out with my friends today because of you. Wait. Why should I be forced to listen to her? I can do whatever I want!’
Just before Kagome was about to tell Sango her change of mind Inuyasha walked in.
“Hey wench why are you still here?” Inuyasha growled. “We have to go help your mom.”
When Kagome saw Inuyasha her eyes lit up.
“Hey Sango, can you hold a sec?”
“Sure.”
Kagome gently placed the phone down and turned to Inuyasha. “Hey Inuyasha?”
Inuyasha nervously backed up against a wall. ‘Oh great, here comes the shouting and I didn’t even do anything wrong!’ “What?”
“Do you want to go to a pool party?”
This wasn’t what Inuyasha was expecting, but the surprise was definitely good. “UH sure. When is it?”
“Oh, it’s this Saturday, the party is going to be thrown by Sango.”
“Feh, I didn't think she would ever throw a party.”
“You seriously are mean? So do you want to go ?”
“What? Are you mad you think that I was going to that party?”
“No, but it’s in 4 days and I’m sure she wouldn’t mind if we came late.”
“Well…”
“Oh come on! It’ll be fun! I really want you to come! Plus, there will be food.”
That sealed it. “Alright, I’ll go.”
“Thank you!” squealed Kagome. She then quickly picked up the phone to tell the good news to Sango before Inuyasha could change his mind.
“Hey Sango, guess what?”
“Can you come now?” asked Eri excitedly.
“Yes! That's nice... uh huh byby.” Kagome said“b
“Oh thank you Sango! I’ll see you Saturday.”
“Great, I can’t wait to see you Kag.”
“Good. Now that we got that settled let’s go get you guys changed so we can go shopping!”
