CHAPTER 5


Kagome could feel her body start to tingle and her muscles relax as the spell wore off. Kouga took hold of her upper arms and helped her stand.

Once Kagome was sure she had her balance back she jerked away from him, "This won't work Kouga! If you think that I am going to be some play thing for
you, then you are dead wrong! I feel the same for you as I do Inuyasha, I don't want to see or talk to either one of you!"

Kouga stepped forward and pulled her into a bear hug, "Let go of me, get away...." Kagome yelled.

"Shhh.....calm down mate, just relax. There's no need for all this yelling and fighting. I only want you to be happy Kagome. I have so many dreams for us..."
he couldn't hold back any longer, Kouga had to kiss her.

He moved his mouth down to hers, giving Kagome no time to argue further and claimed her lips in a passion filled kiss that dulled the senses and made her
light headed. 'I won't give in' Kagome thought stubbornly.

He was disappointed that she didn't respond so he decided to take the next step.

Kouga had always wondered what that mouth tasted like behind those pouty rose colored lips. Oh those lips...there were so many things he planned on
teaching her to do with those lips....Kouga ached to give Kagome her first lesson, but he wanted her to be comfortable in his presence before such acts took
place.

With a few flips of his tongue, he made his way into her mouth. Kagome still did not respond even as he stroked her tongue with his in the attempt to entice
her. Kouga could detect the scent of fear and depression.

Kagome broke away to breathe, but Kouga was not one to give up so easily. He started kissing and licking her neck making a path down to her collar bone.


The more he tasted her the more his mind seemed to grow hazy with desire and his need grew.

His hands made their way to her jean clad thighs, rubbing and working their way up to her backside. Kouga felt the thick foreign material that separated his

As he slid his hands across the back of her pants Kagome stumbled backward and delivered a stinging slap to his face.

"Kagome, will you be quiet already!" Kouga covered his ears, "I told you before, I love you! Yes, I do plan on having sex with you, but I won't force you into
it. Damn w, ca, calm yourself and stop yelling at me!"

"You selfish baka! How can I calm down knowing that you have full control over me, all you have to do is say the word and I can't even fight you! I'm
starting to feel sorry for Inuyasha now, but at least I never did anything perverse to him!"


Kouga was starting to get angry "I keep trying to reassure you that I WILL NOT HURT YOU IN ANY WAY!!!! I HAD to use this spell Kagome! Do you
think I feel good about this situation? Do you think this is how I really wanted it to be? Hell no! I wanted you to come to me willing but you were to busy
chasing dog breath and making a fool out of yourself! Face it love, he doesn't want you, he wants that Kikyo bitch. Inuyasha is to stupid to see this amazing
beauty before him!" he shouted.

Kouga shifted to sit before her and gripped her chin a little harder than he intended too, k atk at me woman,". Kagome's chin and jaw was beginning to hurt,
"I know that you are angry and I understand why, but can't you please give me chance? Will it be so bad to come and stay with me?" his voice was gentle and
he finally released her chin.

"If I agreed to come with you and decided I wanted to leave, would you let me?" she looked in his blue eyes waiting for an answer. Kouga stared back, not
sure what to say. How could he tell her that she would never be allowed to leave his side? He felt horrible for forcing her into this, but their was no other way.
Kouga lowered his head for a moment and then returned his gaze to her face, "I'm sorry..." he quickly reached for the side of her neck pressing the artery that
supplied blood flow to her head causing instant unconciouseness.

As she sunk into the blackness, she felt her laughter and dreams die. For the first time Kagome felt like she had nothing to live for.

(Remember, don't hate Kouga yet, this is only the beginning of their relationship!)

Inuyasha lept from tree to tree stopping once to hold the little vial up to the sun light. 'This is it! I'll finally have you back Kikyo and we can finish where we
left off. This time there will be no doubts about how we feel for each other, there will be no questions of trust, noone will ever come between us again!'

He slowed down as he neared the others, "Oi, I'll be back in a couple of days or maybe a week." Inuyasha could barely hide the excitement he felt about
finding Kikyo while standing before his fellow shard hunters.

Miroku and Sango watched him and noticed how the corners of nouth curved slightly, like he was trying yo hide a smile. Inuyasha, smile, oh there was
definatly something wrong with this picture.

Miroku was the first to speak, "So how was your walk with Kagome-sama Inuyasha, did she say anything else before she left?"

"Yeah, like when she planned to be come back?" Sango waited, observing every movement he made while waiting for an answer.

"Keh, how should I know exactly when the wench will make up her mind to come back. She told me her pathetic (said in a mock Kagome voice) 'I'll be back
after I have a break Inuyasha' excuse for leaving and jumped down the well." Inuyasha was starting to get annoyed. He was so sure that after her talk with
Sango that they'd pass on interrogating him now and at least wait for a week before asking more questions.

The whole time Shippo sat perched on Sango's shoulder alsochinching Inuyasha with his little Kitsune nose twitching.

"What are you staring at runt?" Shippo looked at Inuyasha not sure how to answer, so it was time to be blunt, "You smell funny."

"What the hell is that supposed to mean?" Inuyasha was about to step closer in order to smack the cub but decided against it. If Shippo smelled Kouga or
Kagom's fear on him, the whole deal would be blown, nope, the pleasure of beating on Shippo would have to wait. "Keh, whatever.....I'm leaving."

They scrutinized his actions as he bound off toward the woods.

"Shippo, what did you mean by him smelling funny?" Miroku asked full of curiosity.

"Well......he kind of smelled like.... a bunch of different smells smashed together." Shippo stated.

"But what were those scents?" Sango took him off her shoulder and cradled the kitsune like a new born while waiting for his respons.

"I don't know how to explain it......he smelled a little like the magic that comes from the well, but it was stronger...." Shippo explained. "...and the other
scents.....I'm not sure what they were. Everything was mixed and I couldn't separate one smell from the other, sorry." Shippo

Miroku looked panic stricken, "Do you think Inuyasha and Kagome had another arguement and he did something to the well?"

"I hope not, but lets find out houshi." Sango said looking worried.

The three friends ran to the well. When they finally reached it they were all panting and had to sit down for moment.

"Shippo, (pant, pant) do you smell (pant) anything?" Sango asked while trying to catch her breath.

Shippo sniffed the ground and was rewarded with a wet nose full of leaves and grass. "I can't pick up any scents with all this dew on the ground. It's like
someone walking trough water, it masks their scent."

Miroku stood up and inspected the well and surrounding area "Nothing looks out of place. I think we overreacted. Why would Inuyasha harm Kagome-sama
or the well? That would be poor move on his part because he needs her to find the shards."

"True" Sango sighed, "But I can't shake the feeling that something just isn't right."

Inuyasha searched for Kikyo, running through the country side at break neck speed. His billowing red clothes ruffled in the wind and his gleaming white hair
stood out behind him. The hanyou's eyes looked as though he had captured the sun and stole its amber gleam for himself. For the first time in decades, those
amber eyes held happiness.

He saw movement and lights in the distance. Inuyasha stopped and watched the lights dance and circle each other in the sky. They would suddenly arch down
and disappear beneath the tree line only to appear a few minutes later and take off in a different direction.

They were the soul snatchers that belonged to the woman he was seeking 'Kikyo!' He headed toward the area they seemed to land in getting close enough to
detect the scent of clay and bones. He knew that would change as soon as Kikyo drank the elixir. Inuyasha stopped running and approached the woman
cautiously, most of their past encounters were anything but pleasant.

He stood there, rooted to this spot, watching as the soul catchers delivered the glowing spheres of light to her body. Kikyo's arms were outstretched waiting
for there deliverance, "What do you want Inuyasha? As you can see, I am busy at the moment."

"I have something to tell you........we can be together again. You can live again and you don't need to take your soul back from Kagome," Inuyasha grasped
her hands, "you'll never have to do this anymore (he gestured to the snake like gatherers bringing her souls)."

"How is that possible? You don't have the completed Jewel." Inuyasha took out the vial and showed it to her, he watched as she focused on it and looked
doubtful. "That is supposed to restore life to this body of mine?"

"I got it from Kouga. He bought it from Aimai." Inuyasha explained. "Aimai? I have never heard of her, is she a miko?" Kikyo asked.

"I'm not sure," Inuyasha answered, "but isn't our love worth giving it a try?"

"Our love?" Kikyo sounded pissed, "Our love died fifty years ago when I pinned you to the Goshinboku and then passed on."

"We were tricked Kikyo! You know Naraku set us both up! I want us to start all over, just wipe the slate clean and move on together. I don't ever want to
be without you again." Inuyasha kissed her without asking or giving her a chance to push him away. Kikyo couldn't help but savor the warmth that his lips and
body gave off. Her cold form absorbed it and she longed for more.

Inuyasha plucked the cork out and poured the foul tasting solution into his mouth. He flung the vial aside and wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her
as close as possible before pressing his lips against hers. Kikyo slightly opened her mouth and Inuyasha released the fluid into her mouth while mentally wishing
for his love to return from the dead.

As soon as she swallowed the elixir, her body began to glow. Kikyo threw her head back and let ou ung ungodly scream. The souls she had just absorbed were
rushing out of her like water. The horrific scene ended when her body was elevated from the ground and glowed with a soft white ethereal light.

Inuyasha observed the peaceful expression her face now held. She gradually drifted down and her body settled on the grass. Inuyasha ran toward her, worried
that something went wrong, when he heard the most amazing sound.

It was a heart beat, steady and strong. Her cheeks and lips held a rosy hue, her hands were warm and her scent of wild flowers had returned. Inuyasha buried
his nose in her hair, nearly crying.

Kikyo was back.

He held her tight and could feel her starting to wake up, "Inuyasha.....what...what happened?" she looked disoriented. Instead of answering, he kissed her with
all the passion and longing that his heart held. Kikyo allowed him to deepen the kiss and grasped the back of his shirt, pulling him closer.

Inuyasha pulled at the ties of her miko robes, exposing her unbound breasts. They were what he always imagined, round and full with soft pink nipples

"What are you doing?" Kikyo tried to close her top but was stopped when he took hold of her wrists.

"Don't coyouryourself, I'm doing what I should have done a long time ago, I'm claiming my mate." Her eyes widened in shock. Kikyo's memories were
jumbled but she had an idea of what he meant by "claiming".

She was afraid, but when she felt his lips circle and tug at her hardened nipple all apprehension faded away. There was a wonderful warmth that started to

With a firm tug they were off and cast aside by her shirt. She sat up, while Inuyasha backed away some, and hesitantly reached for his belt. She untied it and
watched his pants fall around his knees. Inuyasha stood up and stripped off his remaining clothes. Kikyo looked upon his lean but well chiseled form, her eyes
making their way down to his package.

Inuyasha was long and had the width to match. Kikyo laid back, knees bent, and spread her legs, silently telling him what she wanted. He didn't need a
second invitation and hurriedly positioned himself between her thighs.

With one violent thrust he buried himself deep inside of her wet passage. Inuyasha felt the tear of her virgin membrane, but she made only a small whine of
