Chapter 5



A Second Chance To Be Together





Kagome was speeding through the streets mindlessly. She was pregnant with the man she loved child and he was the leader of the gang the ‘Assassins’. Kagome was at a lose of what to do. Sesshomaru had asked her to be his mate, but when she asked was he sure he hesitated. She felt like he was saying that because I can’t find anything better I’ll settle for you. Kagome went to her house and packed up all her stuff and started loading it into Kohaku’s truck. She wanted to cry, but couldn’t find the tears to shed. When, she was finish loading all her stuff into the truck Kohaku took the stuff to the base. Getting on her bike Kagome went to Souta’s base and found him in the middle of a fight with one of the members who thought they would be a better leader then he was. With a quick spin kick to the boys chest Souta cast him a glance before turning to Kagome.



“Come on sis give him a break will you.”



“Souta I …”



“Come with me, we can talk in my room.”



Souta led Kagome into a back room decorated in black and navy blue. Taking a seat on the bed in the corner of the room Souta motioned for Kagome to join him.



“So sis what are you gonna do? You know he loves you or he wouldn’t have asked you to be his mate.”



“He doesn’t love me or he wouldn’t have hesitated when I asked him was he sure.”



“Kagome your being ridiculous. He loves you and your pregnant with his child why are you sitting here with me?”



Kagome stood and left the room heading for the exit, but stopped when she felt Souta’s hand on her arm. He slowly pulled her back and hugged her from behind his head resting on her shoulder.



“I’m sorry Kags, but you know I’m right. Please at least think about what I said.”



Souta gave her one last squeeze before he released her and walked back to his room. Kagome left and went back to Sesshomaru’s. She walked in without a single glance at any of the gang members from Sesshomaru’s gang. She walked to Sesshomaru’s office to see him in a meeting with his new second in command.



“Get out, now.”



Sesshomaru’s eyes locked on her instantly. His second in command looked at him for conformation, but I it was to late. Kagome grabbed the man by the front of his shirt and threw him from the room. The man glared at her and Kagome challenged him to do or say something. Turning her attention by to Sesshomaru she ignored the man behind her.



“I want all my stuff.”



“I wasn’t hes…”



“Look just call my cell when my stuff is ready to be picked up.”



Kagome turned and walked from the room, she left the house without a word to anyone. She went back to Sango’s to rest. The beeping of and alarm clock cut through the air. Kagome sat up and looked around to see Sango curled up on the other side of the bed sleep. Kagome shook her roughly trying to wake her and had to duck to avoid the fist that came flying at her left eye. Deciding to cut the danger to her health off Kagome pushed Sango off the bed. A solid ‘thump’ was heard when Sango hit the floor.



“SON OF A BITCH THAT FUCKIN HURT KAGS.”



Kagome busted out laughin for thee first time in months. Sango stopped her complaining to smile evilly at Kagome. Lunging forward with a pillow Sango hit Kagome square in the head with her pillow her aim flawless. Then, without a seconds hesitation she took off and ran into Kohaku’s room and locked the door.



“What are you two up to?”



“Na…Nothing.”



“Yeah right. When you two start running and locking doors theres always something going on.”



“Sango you can’t lock doors that’s cheating.”



Ring, Ring, Ring.



“Hello?’



“Hey, Kohaku its Souta.”



“Hey.”



“I got a surprise for Kagome, I’ll tell you but you can’t say anything to anyone even Sango.”



“Deal.”



“Me and my gang transferred to you guys school and I bought her a present.”



“What did you buy her?”



“I bought her that all silver desert eagle with the marble handle that she wanted. I got ‘Blood Roses’ engraved along the barrel with two clips of ammo. I also got her a holster for it that straps around her thigh.”



“I think she’ll love it. I’ll see you at school.”



“Bye.”



“See ya.”



Hanging up the phone he turned around to see Sango staring at him. Kohaku quickly excused she out of his room using the excuse I have to get ready for school. As soon as Sango was out in the hallway Kagome caught her good with a pillow, before saying lets get ready for school. Kagome decided to wear Sango’s clothes instead of unpacking some clothes from her stuff. Sango showered then slipped into black leather pants and a black tank top with nike boots. Her hair was pulled up in a high ponytail. Kagome stepped out the shower and dried her self. She decided to wear black leather shorts and a black tank top with nike boots. She decided to left her hair down. When, they stepped outside the rest of the gang was already waiting on them. But, when all the guys in the gang especially Bankotsu saw that Kagome was wearing shorts instead of pants a loud whistle was heard. Kagome laughed gently then climbed on her bike and took off for the school building. When they pulled up they rode right past both Inuyasha and Sesshomaru as well as their gangs. Kagome didn’t spear either one of them a single glance. What caught her attention was Souta and his gang sitting in the parking lot waiting on her.



“Souta, what are you and your gang doing here?”



“We well I decided that we were going to attend school here.”



“Why?”



“So I can keep an eye on you. But, here I got you something.”



Kagome took the gift and turned to use her bike seat as a makeshift table. She cautiously unwrapped the gift with gentle fingers. When she lifted the lid and saw what was inside Kagome whipped around and looked for Souta who stood in the middle of the parking lot with Kohaku talking. Kagome ran over to him and jumped into his arms. Souta saw her coming on opened his arms, when she jumped on him Souta swung her around like she used to do him before he got to big for it anymore. Sesshomaru watched Kagome with cold and indifferent eyes, but if you knew him you would see that he was jealous that Souta was getting hugged that while he was being completely ignored. Kagome smiled brightly at Souta and gave him a gentle kiss on the cheek.



“Thanks Souta, but how did you know that I wanted it?”



“I’ve caught you looking at it a million times.”



Kagome hugged Souta one last time before she returned to her gift. Sango stood looking at the shining gun. She couldn’t seem to pull her eyes away from it. Kagome picked the gun up and began looking at it from every angle. Sango saw the engraved name first and pointed it out to Kagome. Souta now stood behind her his head resting on her shoulder.

Kagome gently ran her fingers over the name and smiled brightly.



“Souta I have to say this gift makes up for all the little pranks and stuff you and Kohaku have pulled on me over the years. Except the one time when you cut my hair that you can never make up.”



Souta laughed and turned to get his stuff so he could go into the building and get his schedule. His gang followed behind him, Kohaku at his side. Kagome was about to put the gun back in the wooden case Souta gave it to her in, when she saw the holster. Kagome gave a small smile before she handed Sango her new gun. Grabbing the holster Kagome smailed when she realized it was made to strap to her thigh. Quickly she secured the holster to her thigh then slid her gun into it. Kagome let her mask fall into place when the bell rung. Grabbing her things Kagome and Sango were about to start walking when it hit her she hadn’t seen or heard from Rin since she told Sango and Rin to stay at Souta’s hideout the day before.



“Sango, where’s Rin.”



“I don’t know I haven’t seen her since we were at Souta’s hideout yesterday.”



Kagome pulled out her phone and called Souta, who was about to walk into class.



“Hello?”



“Souta its me. Have you seen Rin at your base?”



“no, why is she missing?”



“Yeah, we haven’t seen or heard from her since yesterday. Do me a favor and call all your gang members back outside.”



“On our way.”



Souta turned around and walked outside toward Kagome. He sent out a page to all his gang members and within seconds all of them were standing lined up in front of Souta and Kagome. Kagome looked at each on carefully.



“Do all of you remember the other girl who came with me yesterday when I came to tell you about Souta missing?”



They all nodded their heads, yes.



“Have any of you seen her since then?”



All of them shook their head no, but Kagome could tell one of them or more were lying. So she asked each one of them individually. All of them gave her the same answer no. Reaching the last guy in the line Kagome asked him nicely.



“Have you seen Rin since yesterday?”



The guy answered no, but Kagome could tell he was lying and so could Souta. Kagome looked over at Souta as if to say can I. He nodded ever so slightly in response to her look. Kagome stepped forward and grabbed the boy by his throat and threw him back into the wall, before his body even had a chance to fall to the ground she had him pent to the wall by his throat. She sent a series of punches into his body her hands were seemingly invisible. The boy fell to the ground the breath knocked out of him and two broken ribs.



“Are you ready to tell me where my friend is yet or do I have to break some more of your bones.”



“S… she told me not to tell anyone where she was.”



“Do I look like I’m going to hurt her. She’s been one of my best friends since elementary school. Now tell me where she is.”



“She’s in the school basement.”



Kagome walked into the school as went toward the gym so she come get to the basement. But, someone grabbed her and pulled her into an empty classroom. Turning around Kagome saw Sesshomaru standing in front of her. His eyes scanning over her body appreciatively. Kagome stood there waiting for him to explain, but when he didn’t say anything she opened her mouth to say something. She lost her words in her throat when she felt Sesshomaru’s lips on hers and his tongue in her mouth. Kagome melted into his kiss and found her tongue battling with his for dominance. Sesshomaru pulled Kagome closer to his body, loving the feel of her body molding to his he wanted to fuck her senseless right here, but knew she would pissed off after. Sesshomaru broke the kiss when the need for air became to much. Kagome immediately pushed him away from her.



“Kagome I wasn’t hesitating I was trying to make sure that was what you wanted.”



“So you just wanted to make that I wanted to be your mate huh. Do you really think that I would ask you if you were sure if I didn’t want to be with you, Seesshomaru?”



Sesshomaru stepped closer to her, but Kagome moved back. Sesshomaru turned and walked out the room. Kagome stood there and wrapped her arms around her stomach with was beginning to protrude slightly. When, she left the room Sesshomaru was leaning against the wall across the hallway talking to his second in command. His eyes glanced her over lingering on her stomach for a second, before he turned back to his second in command. Kagome walked pass them not saying a word, her mask back in place so that her eyes were hard and uncaring. Kagome made her way to the basement and started down the narrow steps, making sure not to trip. Reaching the bottom Kagome saw a faint light in the back of the basement.



“Rin?”



“Kagome?”



“Why are you down here in the school basement?”



“……”



“Rin, why are you in the school basement?”



Kagome heard a faint cry of a baby and then Rin making a shushing noise. Reaching the light Kagome looked around the boxes to see Rin cradling a baby girl in her arms. Kagome was at a loss for word she could tell the baby was Rin’s, but it was the otheer scent mingled with hers that knocked her off balance slightly. Kohaku’s scent was mixed with Rin’s. That could only mean that Kohaku was the father of Rin’s baby because his scent was still mixed with hers and the childs. Kagome sat down next to Rin and held her arms out for the child. Rin put the baby gently in her arms and watched Kagome smile at the little girl.



“What’s her name?”



“Her names Koharu.”



“Does Kohaku know about her?”



“No.”



“Why not?”



“Cause I don’t want him to abandon her.”



“He won’t abandon her and you know it.”



Kagome stood and walked toward the stairs with Koharu in her arms. Pulling out her phone she called Kohaku and told him to get outside right away. Then, she grabbed Rin and sped out of the basement with demonic speed. They waited out on the front steps for no more then two minutes before Kohaku stepped outside. Kagome turned to look at him and caught the look he gave Rin before it disappeared. Then, she saw his eyes widen at the site of Koharu.



“Kohaku, you slept with Rin right?”



“Yeah.”



“Did you know you got her pregnant?”



“No. Rin why didn’t you say something I’d have taken care of you.”



“I didn’t say anything because I was afraid you might not want her.”



“Why wouldn’t I want my own daughter? What’s her name?”



“Her names Koharu.”



Kohaku looked up at Rin the expression on his face was priceless. Kagome held Koharu out to him and he took her with trembling arms. He placed an small kiss on her forehead then turned to Rin, pain in his eyes. Kagome turned and walked into the building.



“Why didn’t you trust me?”



“I… I’m sorry.”



Kohaku pulled out his phone and asked Sango to come out front. In a few moments Sango stood there and looked at Kohaku who was still holding Koharu in his arms. He explained the situation the best he could and asked her if he could borrow her car since he couldn’t take Rin and the baby back to their house on his bike. Sango handed him her keys and took the keys to his bike. But, before he could protest Sango took Koharu into her arms and smiled down at her. Koharu smiled and laughed loving all the attention she was getting. Rin hugged Kohaku to her, happy that she was going to be with him and that her family was complete. Rin kissed Kohaku lightly and he returned her kiss



“I love you Kohaku.”



“I love you too, Rin.”



Sango handed Koharu to Rin and walked back into the school happy her brother and Rin were together, finally. Now if only Kagome would stop doubting everything that goes right in her life and be Sesshomaru’s mate. Sango walked back into her class and saw that Kagome was sitting in the back with a pained expression on her face her hand on her stomach. Sango ran back to her and picked her up and left the room. Then, she ran down the hall to Sesshomaru’s class.



“Excuse me, but I’m in the middle of a…”



Sango pulled out her gun and shot at thee teachers foot effectively shutting them up.



“Sesshomaru, you need to come out here now.”



Sesshomaru rose from his seat without a single word and walked out the room. Sango lead him down the hall to an empty classroom. When his eyes fell on Kagome who was curled up in a ball with tears streaming from her eyes her arms wrapped tightly around her stomach. He was at her side in and instant. He pulled her into his lap and put his hand on her stomach.



“She needs to get to the hospital she’s going into premature labor.”



“Shit, Kohaku took my car.”



“Page your gang and have them met us at the hospital.”



Sango paged the gang then found herself clutching to Sesshomaru as her grabbed her with his tail and ran through the hallways at incredible speeds. He stopped suddenly when he reached Souta’s class. He opened the door to get him.



“Excuse me, but I’m…



Once again Sango shot her gun at the teachers foot effectively shutting them up. Sesshomaru looked over his shoulder at her and she smiled sheepishly, then he turned back to Souta who was looking at them like they were crazy. Stepping into the room all the way Souta saw Kagome was in pain and was in front of them in less than a second. He took Sango from Sesshomaru’s tail and put her on his back then they both disappeared from the room in a burst of speed the y left the room and ran toward the hospital no more then blurs. Sango held on to Souta for dear life when he took off running and didn’t loosen her hold on him until they were in the hospital when he put her down. But, he quickly grabbed her to steady her since she was swaying from the sudden stop. Sesshomaru walked over to the counter and explained that Kagome was pregnant and that they were demons and wanted a youkai doctor. He quickly followed the nurse to and examination room and waited for the doctor. Kagome opened her eyes and looked around, when she saw Sesshomaru she reached out for him. Sesshomaru grabbed her hand and held it.



“I’m sorry Sesshomaru.”



“Why?”



“Because I doubted you. I always doubt things when good things happen to me because I’ve only known pain.”



“Will you be my mate, Kagome?”



“Yes.”



Sesshomaru kissed her forehead just as the doctor came in. The doctor was female and looked to be a phoenix youkai. She walked over and lifted Kagome’s shirt so she could see her stomach. She pressed down on a few areas causing Kagome to cry out in pain.



“Your girlfriend is at the beginning of her third month right?”



“Hai.”



“It seems that your pup has reached at growth potential for birth. What type of demon is she?”



“She’s a Dark Elemental Inu Miko Youkai.”



“Your girlfriend may have the ability to manipulate time and if she has seen other person with a baby recently then she may had sped up time around her body until the baby was ready to be born without realizing it.”



“Rin and Kohaku have a baby named Koharu, I saw her today.”



“That has to be what triggered her power over time.”



“Follow me.”



Sesshomaru picked Kagome up and felt her muscles tense as another wave of pain hit her. She fisted her hands in Sesshomaru’s shirt ripping it slightly and buried her head in his neck. Sesshomaru followed her to a delivery room and sat Kagome down on the table. He gently removed himself from her arms and started undressing her so he could dress her in a hospital robe. When, he was done he called the doctor back into the room. Another wave of contractions hit Kagome back to back making her cry out in pain. The doctor sat between her legs and told her to start pushing. Kagome pushed and pushed and pushed for hours and her strength was starting to waver, as her body grew tired. The voice of the doctor started to fade away and the firm hold she had on Sesshomaru’s hand began to loosen. Sesshomaru looked down at Kagome and saw her eyes drifting shut. He started draining some of his own energy into her slowly giving her strength. With one last push Kagome was rewarded with the cries of her baby. The doctor handed the baby to the nurse who cleaned it up then handed the crying child to Sesshomaru.



“You have a healthy baby girl.”



Sesshomaru pulled the baby close to his body then squeezed Kagome’s hand in reassurance. The doctor messaged Kagome’s stomach downward and delivered the afterbirth. Then, she stood and walked from the room leaving Kagome and Sesshomaru alone for a moment.



Sesshomaru put the baby down on Kagome’s chest and let her see their daughter. Kagome smiled at him and the baby then concentrated using her miko powers to heal herself. After about five minutes of concentration Kagome stood and winced at the pain running through her body. She held the baby to her chest having made a small opening in the gown so that the baby could feed without her body being open for people to see as she walked down the hallway toward the waiting room. Souta and Sango stood waiting for them in the waiting room or rather Sesshomaru since they hadn’t expected her to be up and about until later in the day.



“What should we name her Sesshomaru?”



Sesshomaru stood thinking for a moment before he shrugged his shoulders. Souta and Sango shrugged their shoulders as well when Kagome looked at them. Sesshomaru squeezed her gently from behind pulling Kagome’s body flush against his.



“Sakura Tama Taisho”



Kagome leaned her head back and looked at him then smiled.



“I like it.”



Sesshomaru took Sakura into his arms and cradled her tiny little body in one arm while he snaked the other arm around Kagome’s waist. At that moment the rest of the gang walked into the waiting room. Kagome looked at them angrily silently asking where the hell they had been. Bankotsu was the only one who met her glare.



“We went to get some stuff you might need for the baby Kags.”



Kagome’s glare softened to a smile. Bankotsu and a few others left the waiting room and returned a few minutes later holding huge boxes of stuff for the baby. They had a stroller, crib, diapers, wet wipes, clothes, powder,…everything the baby could possibly need. Kagome turned to Sesshomaru and smiled.



“Lets go home.”
