When the worlds collide

"Where is she? She's late again" grumped Inuyasha as he ground holes in the earth with his feet, pacing around the well in an almost perfect circle.



"And not just late, but super late." added Shippou as he jumped up onto the lip of the well.



"I mean usually if she was just a few hours late, you'd be storming up and down tearing up the forest, but it's been almost a full day and your now just complaining. I guess it is possible to teach a dog new tricks..." was as far as Shippou got before the kitsune found himself lying facefirst on the earth with a big bruise forming on the back of his head.



"Enough!" yelled Inuyasha, coming to a halt to glare at the little fox demon.



"Calm down Inuyasha, I'm sure Kagome has a good reason for her tardiness." spoke up Miroku, walking from the forest into the clearing around the well. Sango was with him as well, but she didn't look as confident as him.



"I don't know Miroku, I have this strange feeling." Sango started to say before biting her lip.



"You think something happened to Kagome?" asked Inuyasha, concern suddenly etched onto his facial features.



"No, I'm sure she's okay. I mean, our world is much more dangerous than hers, right Inuyasha?" countered Miroku with a smirk on his face.



"Yeah, I guess so." said the half demon, calming down a little.



He paced back and forth a little more, the others in the group watching him, before he came to a decision.



"If she's not back by nightfall, I'll go visit her." said the hanyou, before leaping up into a tree branch and settling in for a little nap.



"Very well then. Come along Shippou." said Miroku, him, Sango, and the fox demon walking away back to the village.

The ambulance had arrived to transport Kagome to the hospital. She insisted that she was all right, and just wanted to stay within the comfort and security of her own home, but everyone insisted that she go and get checked out for injuries.



Finally she relented, but only if her mom went along with her. Miss Higurashi agreed to the request, and was at her daughter's side when they carried her via stretcher into the ambulance and drove away to the hospital.



That left grandpa alone to tend to the house. The old man went out to work on his things at the shed, catalouging new artifacts that had turned up in excavations or dug up when laying the foundation for a new officer building, and the such.



Un-noticed by the old man was the young man in black hiding in the bushes near the edge of the property.



Lowering his binoculars to the ground, Sado, a junior at Kagome's high school, and one of the four men who had participated in her rape earlier in the day, took out his cell phone and made a call to the boss.



The phone range three times before it as answered by a gruff voice.



"Well?" the voice inquired.



"She called the cops, just like you figured she would. They just transported her away with her momma in an ambulance. An old man is left at the house, but he's out in the shed." said Sado.



"Hmmm. That little bitch didn't take my warning seriously. All right, go ahead with our plan. And make damned sure your ass isn't caught." replied the boss before hanging up the phone.



"I don't need to be told twice." said Sado quietly into the dead phone, before clapping it shut and pulling the ski mask over his head.



Working his way quietly across the courtyard, avoiding the streetlamps, he tried the front door, which had been left unlocked.



A small smile creasing his lips, Sado entered into the house.



Having watched Kagome through his binoculars earlier, he knew which bedroom was hers, and made his way upstairs.



Her door was unlocked as well, and Sado entered into her room.



Typical girly girly room he saw when he entered, although basically devoid of posters or bedsheets of any kind of idols, like a rockstar or game show host.



He almost felt sorry for what he was about to do, but if it covered their asses, so be it.



Sado took the bag of meth out of his pocket, and inserted it into one of her drawers, then piled some underwear and socks onto it, to where it appeared to be hidden.



The young boy took his leave, but noticed the family cat following him, in almost a stalking fashion.



Unnerved slightly, Sado jogged away from the house into the forest, Buyo mewing after him.



Grandpa came to see what all the fuss was about, to see Buyo mewing into the forest behind their house.



"Come along Buyo." said grandpa, heading to lock up the shed before retiring into the house for the night.

Later, Sado met the boss in person at his house.



"It went off without a hitch." reported Sado, before settling down onto a couch.



"Good. We'll give the cops a call tomorrow morning, anynmously, and report our little doper." replied the boss, a big grin on his lips...
