Shetaro jumped back and transformed into his humanoid form, pulling the boomerang out, swearing and growling loudly. He kept his hand over his wounded eye as he stepped away from everyone.
“Oh my God! Let me see it,” exclaimed Kagome worriedly as she moved closer to the youkai, who only growled at her and moved even more away.
InuYasha took hold of her shoulder and shook his head.
“Don’t force him, he’ll only end up bitting.”
Kagome gave him a look as he moved away from the teen and went to get some water in one of the pots he took out of the bag on Kagome’s bike. Once he had the water, he moved slowly towards Shetaro, who had sat down, leaning against a tree, and was rocking himself back and forth unconsciously.
“Here, clean it with this,” whispered the hanyou when he was a foot away from the youkai.
Shetaro had to turn his head completely around to look at InuYasha with his good eye. He looked down at the water and nodded, taking a hold of it with his free hand and placing it besides himself. He tried to rip a piece of cloth to wet it, but he had trouble doing it with only one arm. InuYasha smiled gently.
“Do you need any help?”
Shetaro looked over at him sharply, clearly wincing in pain at the movement, but he nodded after a few seconds. InuYasha ripped a small piece of cloth and placed it in the water. During that time, Frewin was sitting by the water. He looked fine, until they noticed he was shaking like a leaf in a storm. Miroku moved to his side and sat down.
“Frewin? Are you alright?” asked gently the monk.
The young warrior looked at Miroku, eyes full of tears, not letting himself shed any.
“I didn’t mean to do that. It’s just that I don’t like having my arms restrained like that...and it always reminds me of how my village was killed...”
Frewin looked back down and Miroku placed his arm around the teen’s shoulders. He looked back at Sango and motionned with his head for her to come closer. She nodded and sat down on Frewin’s other side, smiling gently at him when he looked at her.

Sesshoumaru looked at the small party and then at the youkai sitting by him.
“So...those are the two puppies? How pathetic.”
“Oh, shut up. They’re just puppies as you already pointed out. Give them time. Both are already learning the hard life that will make them almost as strong as you and others. Maybe not Frewin, but Shetaro will,” replied Yamasso, rolling his eyes.
Sesshoumaru smiled gently at the smaller youkai, having missed his companion. He looked back down and frowned when he saw the wolf youkai named Kouga go sit with InuYasha and Shetaro. Yamasso also saw that and growled in the back of his throat.
“You don’t need to worry much about him. Once Frewin realises what he is, he’ll most likely try to kill him. He’s never loved wolves,” said the black Inu.
“How so?”
“His village, which wasn’t small at all, was completly destroyed by wolf youkais. And he never could accept it. The wolves had been slowly entering the region, giving the mikos a fighting chance, which made the fools hunt the wolves down. They never figured those wolves were just scouts to find a good place to set their pack leader’s den. The attack only lasted one night.”
Sesshoumaru nodded, looking at the miko closely from his place. They were on the edge of a cliff that overlooked the clearing that had the lake in it. Yamasso had been the one leading, seeming to know where his two puppies were always at, it seemed. The white Inu had to admit he had not expected that Yamasso’s two pups would be or look so strong.
“Are you not worried about Shetaro’s wound?” asked Sesshoumaru, amused.
“Why should I? It will take about two days to heal. The only thing I’m worried about is if he’ll decide to do an eye for an eye. It will be very painful for Frewin if he does. But I do have to admit Shetaro went over the edge by taking hold of Frewin like that.”
Yamasso sighed and lay on his side, head against Sesshoumaru’s leg. The white Inu just smiled at it and kept on looking at the little group.
“We should head back soon.”
“Just a few more minutes please. I miss them terribly.”
“And it’s only been a day?” teased the lord.
Yamasso stuck his tongue out at him.

“Hey kid. Feeling better?” asked Kouga.
Shetaro looked at him.
“You should leave.”
InuYasha and Kouga looked at each other, surprised by the statement.
“And why should I?”
“My brother will try to kill you as soon as he snaps out of it or if the word wolf youkai is mentioned along with your name.”
“Does he got a problem with my kind,” hissed Kouga, sending a glare at the back of the miko.
“As a matter of a fact, yes. Your kind killed his whole family and village.”
Kouga looked sharply back at Shetaro and then down at the ground. InuYasha almost laughed, but he knew it would be best if he didn’t since the young youkai looked very serious about it.
“How long do you think it’ll take to heal?” asked InuYasha, deciding to talk as Kagome came to join them.
“Few days, but i’m not sure. I’ve never had a wound like this one.”
“You mean, you can heal completly from that?” asked a shocked Kagome.
“Of course I can. What kind of miko does not know that a youkai can heal completly from any wounds. Only those who wishes to keep the scar of that had been wounded by special weapons won’t heal.”
Shetaro kept on mumbling under his breath and both InuYasha and Kouga heard a few words, including ‘damn woman’, ‘why doesn’t she just drop dead’, and ‘fucking father’. A sudden strong gust of wind made those with acute sense of smell look up at the cliff, having smelled some powerful youkai. Two giant dogs were there, the black one laying down at the feet of the white one. Kagome followed their gaze and gasped, which made the others look at them then at the two Inus. The black one finally stood up and jumped off of the cliff, landing in the middle of them.
Kouga got in a fighting position, and so did his three companions, but the three each took a step back as it growled, looking directly at Kouga. The wolf youkai jumped away from Shetaro and was quite shocked to see the Inu move closer and that InuYasha let it rub it’s nose in the young youkai’s neck.
“Hey dad. You been watching long?” asked Shetaro, looking very embarrassed.
The black Inu snorted and then moved over to the side of the lake to lick Frewin’s face twice. It then ran back to the side of the cliff, not being hard for it to jump up and land besides the white Inu. Once there, both left, the white Inu taking the lead. Frewin looked over at who his father had been growling at and his eyes narrowed.
“Wolves.”
