Yes there is going to be a yaoi moment before it’s done. You’re right that Kit is fairly young (as youkai and hanyous go) and open minded sexually. not not sure yet what consequences, if any, that will have in the future but that is for another story.
The characters are not staying in the boundaries I originally intended both relationship and plot wise when I started this so this story is probably going to continue in a sequel that takes place in Japan.

Chapter V: In the Pink
They returned to the Resort late, and dropped off Jaken with his packages at the Lodge and turned in for the night. The next morning they were sitting on the porch of the main Lodge waiting to see if Spirit Singer was going to have time for Shippo this morning. Kit turned as he heard laughter from the Lodge entrance and saw Sesshomaru crossing the lobby. The laughter was a result of the fact that his tail wrapped over his shoulder as usual had changed from a fluffy white to glowing neon pink. Kit broke out in laughter himself, which drew Shippo’s attention. They immediately tried to stifle themselves as Sesshomaru noticed them through the bay window and started in their direction.
“Shippo,” he said in the same quiet voice he always used.
“Sessho (snirk) maru-sama (snick),” Shippo answered.
“Die”
Suddenly some sort of energy whip shot from Sesshomaru’s fingers.
“Look out” Shippo yelled as he shoved Kit out of the way and leapt into the air. The table they were sitting at was shattered into a million pieces. Shippo tossed a large handful of leaves in the air called out, [Multiply] and with a series of pops and smoke the lawn and sky above it was filled with at least 50 Shippos all dodging and weaving in all directions. Sesshomaru proceeded to attack the swarm of Shippos; each time his whip contacted one, it would disappear in a puff of smoke.
Kit rolled to his feet and called up with his spirit shield from the ether space pocket he stored it in. The shield was a round wood frame covered with leather and adorned with eagle feathers around the edge. In the center was a painted image of a howling coyote. It started to glow as he poured his spirit energy into it.
Kit watched the display with admiration, each of the Shippos looked and smelled exactly like the original and even though he knew that all but one where fox magic illusions they were not doing a bad job. Sesshomaru had to work to hit them. Then he noticed something else. One of the foxes a little further back from the porch than the others had a difference to his smell. He did not only have Shippsmelsmell but Kit’s as well. He also noticed that the farther away from this Shippo the others were the weaker their smell was. ‘That must be Shippo,’ Kit decided and started working his way in that direction.
“Your little tricks cannot save you forever fox”, Sesshomaru said as his eyes narrowed. “In fact…”
‘He’s spotted him!’ Kit thought and crying “Spirit Shield!” he leapt between the demon lord and his friend. He poured all his spirit energy into his shield but it was not enough against the 800-year-old demon lord. The whip struck his shield, which flared for a moment then shattered. Searing agony tore through him as the whip tore across his left shoulder throwing him back to the ground. The last thing he saw as his vision faded was Sesshomaru’s whip slashing out again.
Author’s Note: Yes its short I couldn’t resist the cliff hanger. It’s been a while since I posted, been busy with work (bummer) but I’ve got all chapters laid out now so I should be able to post regularly. Bad news is this story is refusing to stay in the bounds of one story so there is probably going to be a follow up. Or maybe that’s good news if you like it. Let me know.
