What's A Dragon to Do?

Chapter 4

Kagome could tell she was lying on the ground and she tried to open her eyes but her head hurt so badly. She finally managed to pry her eyes open and looked around her. It didn't resemble the forest she was in on her way to take a bath with Shippou Where was Shippou? She set up and looked around her. She didn't see Shippou anywhere just Sesshoumaru Her eyes flew back to him and she screamed.

"Sesshoumaru!" Kagome saw the lord wince a little when she screamed his name. "What are you doing here?"

He looked at the girl lying on the ground in front of him and held back a laugh at her expression.

"I had hoped that we were past the screaming "Sesshoumaru" stage. A mere gasp would have sufficed or maybe a breathless "Sesshoumaru" that would have worked quiet well also." He smirked at her and almost laughed again at the surprise on her face. She was just so easy to tease.

Kagome sat on the ground staring at the Sesshoumaru in surprise. She had known of him for four years not to mention the few months that he had traveled with her group to track down Naraku. They had many conversations during that time. She was about the only one besides Rin that he spoke too. And so far she had never seen him smile except when he was ready to kill someone. Ok it wasn't really a smile but it was close. And were her ears deceiving her or did he just joke with her also.

"What did you just say?"

"Did you not hear me the first time? Oh well I refuse to repeat myself." He crossed his arms and stared at Kagome.

Now that's the Sesshoumaru that I know. She looked around the forest in search of Shippou

"Sesshoumaru-sama have you seen my kit anywhere? He was with me before I woke up here, and by the way where is here?" Kagome sat all the way up and turned to face the Lord of the Western Lands.

"Yes I saw him, your pup is currently at my castle with Rin and my dragon decided to imprison us in an orb." He waited for her to start yelling. One, two, three now... Yep just on time.

"Why is he at your castle and what do you mean your dragon imprisoned us in an orb. He's your dragon make him free us." Kagome stood up and looked at the forest around them. "If this is an orb how come it seems so real?"

"Oh its real enough." Sesshoumaru unleashed his whip and with a crack of it sent a tree crashing to the ground. "Could you cease your infernal yelling? And I can't make them turn us loose. I have tried to free us but nothing worked so unless your miko powers can free us we are stuck here. They said they would keep us here until I was ready to be free and then and only then will they release us." He stood and faced the angry miko in front of him.

Kagome watched Sesshoumaru come closer to her, "What do you mean until you were ready to be free? I am ready to be free and I suggest you hurry up and get ready. I don't care what you have to do but get me out of here." Sesshoumaru stopped once he stood in front of Kagome.

"Are you sure about that?"

Kagome looked up and tried to figure out what Sesshoumaru was doing. He had never been this close to her before unless he had to pick her up to save her but he had quickly put her down afterwards and she had never seen that expression on his face before.

"Of course I am sure I meant that. I want out of here. My friends are probably worried sick about me and I need to go home tomorrow."

Sesshoumaru thought about what Kagome said and he stood there and watched her talk to herself. He let her rant to herself for a little while before her rambling started to hurt his head so he did the only thing he knew that would shut her up.

He grabbed her and pulled her to his chest and lowered his mouth to hers. He felt her stiffen against him at first then he felt her relax in his arms. He ran his tongue over her lips and groaned when she opened her mouth so he could explore it further.

He could hear her moans joining his. He never expected her to like his kisses. He raised his head and released her but had to quickly grab her again to stop her from falling to the ground.

"Are you ok Kagome?"

He smiles, teases, then he kisses me senseless then actually calls me by my name. He must be sick or something. This is not the same Sesshoumaru that I know. The one I know kills people for looking at him the wrong way. He doesn't kiss them especially after they yell at him.

Once her legs could hold her again she shoved herself out of his arms and stepped slightly away from him before placing her hand on his head. No fever. Did demons even get sick? Kirara, Inuyasha and Shippou never seemed too, unless it was from a battle, but never for any other reason.

"Uh, Sesshoumaru, you're not sick or something like that are you?"

"I feel fine Kagome." He watched her take a couple of steps back away from him so every time she took a step backwards he would take one forward.

Kagome watched him get closer and closer to her. She had to do something to stop him.

"You never told me what we had to do to get out of this orb Sesshoumaru"

He waited till her back was against a tree before he trapped her against it using his tail and his arms.

"Oh it is quite simple. I must discover what you mean to me. It sounds so simple but in truth it might very well turn out to be the hardest thing I have ever done."

"How hard could it be? You hate me because I am a worthless human, remember so now that you know we can leave, right?" Kagome had to lean her head back pretty far just so she could stare up into his face. He had her trapped so she couldn't move.

"I don't know if that is true any more." Sesshoumaru looked down into the miko's face and saw the confusion in her eyes.

Kagome shook her head, "Of course it is. You tell me that I am only a worthless human every time you see me. Along with a few other flattering compliments that you seem to enjoy."

"I only say those things to you because I hoped if I said it enough I would start to believe them." Sesshoumaru started lowering his head to meet Kagome's.

Uh Oh, Kagome you need to do something to bring back the real Sesshoumaru This one is a little scarier than the one who keeps trying to kill me. Think, Kagome saw his face getting closer to her she managed to get her arm loose and slapped Sesshoumaru on the cheek. If that doesn't bring back the old Sesshoumaru nothing would. Of course if it worked he just might kill me for it.

Sesshoumaru felt Kagome slap his face and he drew away from her. He looked down at the miko who was glaring up at him. He returned her glare and raised his hand to touch his face where she had dared to slap him. The wench slapped him. What was she thinking?

Does the silly ningen have a death wish or something?

"Why did you slap me Kagome?" He released her from his tail and grabbed her neck with his claws. He could only hold her by the neck. Some force was keeping him from tightening his claws around her throat but she didn't need to know that he was bluffing. "You dare raise your hand to this Sesshoumaru Give me one reason why I should not kill you now."

"I can give you several: You can't get out of here without me, it was you who was acting like he belonged in a Loony bin not me, and I only slapped you to stop you from kissing me. It's not like I wanted you to kiss me again. The first time was bad enough." Yeah right, I hope he believes that.

Who would have thought that Sesshoumaru who never shows any emotion what so ever could kiss a girl good enough to make her go weak in the knees. Kagome shook her head. Get those thoughts out of your head girl. It's not likely to happen again since the old Sesshoumaru is back. She felt herself falling to the ground as Sesshoumaru released her neck. She managed to catch herself before she fell though.

"This Sesshoumaru could get out of this without you ningen, I do not know this Loony bin, you can explain it to me some other time." Sesshoumaru turned his back on the girl and smiled. If she wanted him to act this way he would do so for the time being. As he started to walk away he couldn't resist taunting her a little. “You shouldn't lie Miko, to me or to yourself.”
