Chapter 2
A/N: HEY GUYS!!! LONG TIME NO SEE!!! I just started at a new school, so I have TONS more time to spend on you guys. Except that I haven’t really SEEN this for ages… so I don’t know what to do… >.<

She jumped, and twirled around to face the voice. “Sesshomaru! Thank god! I’ve been so lost…” She jumped forward and hugged him, as he just stood there in shock.
The first thing he noticed was that her hair was longer, and he felt it twirl around his wrists as he held her waist. Then he noticed that her scent had changed. It was a more mature scent, one of rain and cool mountain air.
“Miko, you have changed.” He said. She looked up at him with tears in her eyes.
“I need help Sesshomaru, I don’t know what to do… What am I?” She sobbed, distressed and lonely.
“Come miko. I can help you, just come inside. I do not know how long you have been like this, but I can tell that it’s been too long.”

Inuyasha was worried. Kagome hadn’t come back. She was probably lost in the woods somewhere, lost and scared… or worse. ‘Stop it; don’t think like that, she has to be okay. She HAS to be.’ Even while thinking this, he was scared. What if something HAD happened? What if she was lying in the forest where nobody would find her for centuries, and when they did she’d just be a pile of bones.
Shippo was still growing fast, and was now almost full grown. He still needed a mother, and she wasn’t there. InuYasha had been training him for months, but there wasn’t much he could do now that Kagome was gone. The kit needed her there to be fighting at his fullest.
After he had mated Kikyo, Kagome had been becoming more and more distant. The night that she disappeared she had been leaving for the last time.
***Flashback***
“LEAVE ME ALONE! You know, I once thought I loved you, but I was wrong. I can’t stay here anymore. I’m going home.” She said, with tears streaming down her face.
“Kagome, please, I’m sorry. IF there’s anything I can do, you know I’ll do it for you.” He was trying desperately not to cry, but he knew it was a losing battle as he felt the wet trail running down his cheek.
She stepped forwards and rubbed it off with the back of her finger. “Don’t cry Inu. You know I can’t stand it when you cry. I just have to leave, I’m sorry. Maybe we’ll see each other again in my time, but I can’t stay. Not now.”
“But... what about Shippo? He needs a mother Kagome, you know that!” HE was desperate now, pleading with her.
“Don’t you DARE use Shippo InuYasha? He’s the only reason I stayed this long in the first place. Now hat you have Kikyo and you’re training him, you two can raise him fine. You don’t need my help. Now I’m leaving, and I swear to kami, if you follow me there’s gonna be hell to pay.”
He looked at her with pleading eyes, then turned and ran back to the village.
***End Flashback***

Three hours later, and the miko called Kagome still hadn’t stopped crying. Sesshomaru had no idea what he should do. Before, he wouldn’t even have let her into the castle, and now here she was, lying in his bed, sobbing her heart out.
She had fallen asleep a few times, but she hadn’t stopped crying, even in sleep. She had finally given up on sleep, as every time she did, she woke up with a scream, and just went back to wailing. HE felt the urge to go comfort her, but didn’t want to cross any lines, and settled for just watching over her.
They had yet to find out what kind of youkai she was, but he knew they would eventually. The only question was, how could they not kill each other along the way?
