Shetaro looked down into the water of the small lake and sighed. He’d managed to get himself lost. He knew he should have made Frewin follow him. The damned miko knew how to pin-point ways and routes. He knew he was being rash again, but he couldn’t just forgive his father for leaving them alone again. Everytime that happened, there was something wrong that would happen. A low sound made him turn around and frown when he noticed figures coming over to the lake. He jumped up into the closest tree and hid into the branches.

“But Kouga! What if we don’t find this youkai! We’ve been following it’s scent all day!”

“Oh, stop whinning already! I’m tired of you complaining! It’s in our territory and I’ll be damned if I let it go unnoticed!”

Shetaro rolled his eyes as he saw they were wolf youkais. He had nothing personal against them, but they were just a bit too slow minded for his taste, not to mention that he had yet to meet a smart wolf youkai so far.

“Hmm, it’s close. Its smell is stronger than before,” whispered the black-haired wolf youkai, Kouga.

Shetaro smiled and decided to play with them. He soudlessly moved down the tree to the last branch and then hung upside down by his feet from it. He started counting the seconds to see how long it took them to find him like that. A small glint made Shetaro lose his count and frown as he noticed they came from Kouga’s legs.

“What are those in your legs?” he asked without thinking, not really caring after.

The three youkais turned to him, weapons and claws ready to attack. They faulted in their stances when they noticed him in his position not to mention also realising he was simply a pup.

“Who are you and what are you doing in my territory?” asked Kouga.

“Shetaro, passing and what are those in your legs?” he asked again.

Kouga looked down at his legs and then crossed his arms over his chest in an arrogant pose.

“Jewel shards pup. Don’t you know that?”

Shetaro let himself drop, landing perfectly on his feet, head tilted to the side.

“Actually, no. I just arrived not long ago on this continent. I lived on the main continent before. Can you please tell me?”

Kouga looked over at his two companions before nodding.

“These shards are from the Shikon jewel. It was broken a little while ago. A simple jewel can give you immnse power, so every youkais are trying to get their hands on them. That good enough of an answer?”

Shetaro nodded and looked down at his feet. When he looked back up, he had a smirk on his lips.

“So mainly, every little weaklings are looking for these so they don’t get killed? How dumb. It just proves how weak they really are. And I must admit, I’m not too surprised a wolf like you possesses some. Weak.”

Kouga’s jaw dropped, not believing his ears. His hands closed into fists.

“I’ll show you weak you little shit!”

Kouga attacked, but when his fist landed, it hit the ground. He looked up when he heard some giggling to see Shetaro standing behind his two companions, who turned around immediately, getting ready to defend themselves if need be.

“Weak and slow. Cute.”

Kouga decided he had played enough of the nice and charged the Inu pup with all his speed, passing just between his two companions, who didn’t feel him move. He was more then a little shocked that he ended up hitting the ground again, but this time he was able to see Shetaro move with his current speed.

“Still too slow,” whispered the teen.

As Kouga opened his mouth to say something back, a low hissing noise made them look to the path that lead to the lake and move back just in time to avoid getting sliced in two by two metallic objects that curved in the air a few meters after them to return to their owner. The blond caught his small metal boomerangs and smirked.

“Found you bro. Gonna run again?”

“What do you think?” asked Sheataro, placing his hands on his hips, imitating Kagome.

“Run then. I’ll catch you eventually.”

Shetaro snorted and his eyes became red. He transformed into his dog form, which was only as big as Kirara’s giant form due to the fact he was still a pup. Frewin got into a defensive stance and was ready when Shetaro attacked him. Kouga was about to jump in to help the younger youkai, but stopped when he saw InuYasha arrive, carrying Kagome on his back. He moved besides them and help Kagome to her get off the hanyou’s back.

“Hello my dear Kagome, pleasure to see you here. Do you know those two?” asked Kouga, pointing at the two fighting teens over his shoulder with a thumb.

“Yes, sadly we do,” sighed Kagome, bowing her head.

Kouga nodded and turned back to see that the two teens were still fighting, the youkai’s jaws almost closing over the miko’s head. He felt his blood run out of his head.

“Hey...do they usually get this...brutal?” he asked, worried.

Kagome looked up and then at InuYasha, who was frowning as he looked at the two. His eyes widened and he took hold of Kagome’s arm, pulling her out of the way of one of Frewin’s metal boomerangs.

“I think we better stop them before they cause any real damage to anyone,” said Miroku, also dodging one of the boomerangs.

“Right behind you,” said Sango, taking hiraikostu in hand and getting ready to throw it if need be.

InuYasha didn’t move, studying the two pups, Something didn’t seem right with the way they were fighting. Somehow, he had the feeling Shetaro should be a lot faster and Frewin should have more control over his boomerangs. He then noticed it. Shetaro had caught hold of Frewin’s shirt, yet he let go immediately. They were just playing.

“Cool it guys, they’re having fun. Maybe we shouldn’t be the ones here,” ha said, rolling his eyes as his companions gave him shocked looks.

“But they’re so rough? I’ve never seen anyone play so harshly,” replied Shippo, hiding behind Kagome’s leg.

“Oh, stop your whinning. They’re fine.”

Shetaro suddenly just lay on the ground, giving a snort as he lay his head down. Frewin looked at the youkai for a second before dropping his hands to his side.

“You lazy ass. Already giving up? Shows me you’re getting soft bro,” teased the miko.

Shetaro looked up suddenly and jumped on Frewin, taking his right arm in his jaws, not being gentle about it at all. InuYasha noticed it immediately and moved forward to them, but it was already too late. Out of reflexes, Frewin swung his left arm against Shetaro’s head, the boomerang he had in his hand burrying itself in Shetaro’s right eye.
