Epilogue
At breakfast that morning everyone was in attendance. Sesshoumaru looked out over the table and saw many of the occupants yawning. “Why is everyone so tired today?”
Everyone glanced up as he spoke and many of their faces took on a reddish sheen.
Kitaro laughed at the question and then glanced over at his mate. “Why don't you ask your mate. She might be able to answer your question.”
Kagome heard Kitaro and started choking on her tea. When she finally managed to gain her breath she sent a death glare his way.
Sesshoumaru heard Kitaro then his mate started choking. When she quieted down he just raised his brow at her.
There was no way that Kagome was going to tell him out loud what she did so she told him telepathically. “Remember my outfit last night?” As he nodded and smiled she sighed. “Well I bought my sisters one's similar to it.”
Sesshoumaru looked around the table again and this time he just smirked. “Now I understand. I guess I am going to have to send Kagome shopping more often. It makes for quiet meals.”
As he spoke there were several smiles and nods in agreement. Mostly from the women.
Shippou looked up at his parents and then around the table at everyone else. “How could okaa-san go shopping make quiet meals?” He looked over at Rin and saw her just shrug her shoulders.
Miroku waited for anyone else to answer the kit and when they didn't he decided to do it. “Well you see Shippou.” Thats as far as he got before his mate stomped on his foot under the table.
Masumi couldn't believe that Miroku would answer the kit and when he did she stomped on his foot to shut his mouth. “You will not talk about stuff like that in front of pups. Ever.”
Miroku just nodded and shut up.
Shippou sighed. After one of the girls said that he never got any information. “I guess it's one of things that I will learn when I get older.”
Sango laughed and rubbed his head. “That's ok Shippou. One of these days your going to understand.”
“That's what you all always say. I just hope you all remember all the stuff your suppose to tell me and not forget in your old age.” He saw the adults around the table laughing. “What it's been known to happen.”
Rin just sat at the table and when everyone started laughing at Shippou's remark she nudged her brother. “Why are they laughing?”
“It's and adult thing.” At Rin's blank look he smiled and leaned over and whispered to her. “I'll tell you later when they aren't around.”
Rin nodded and then started eating again.
Kagome finished her food before everyone else Inuyasha included. “When is everyone going to arrive?”
“They should start arriving around noon. Though some might arrive earlier. By dark everyone should be here and the ball will begin.” Sesshoumaru took a sip of his tea.
“Well I must make sure that everything is in order then.” Kagome rose from the table and with a nod at everyone walked out the door.
Sango, Juria and Masumi jumped up to follow her.
The men stayed at the table drinking tea for a bit.
Inuyasha decided that he had enough quiet. “Well I'm going to go spar.”
Kitaro smiled and followed after the hanyou. After all it was his job to train the prince. He just loved his job.
Miroku arose and bowed to Sesshoumaru. “I'll be in the garden meditating if you should need me.”
Sesshoumaru nodded as the monk left. Now it was just him and the children. “So what are you two doing today?”
Rin and Shippou looked at each other and smiled. “It's your morning to watch us so it's up to you.”
Sesshoumaru smiled and shook his head. “Lets go in the garden. I think Ah Un should be there for their morning meal.” He got up and followed the children out of the door.
When the children saw the dragon they took off running and shouting his name. He followed slowly behind them thinking about how much his life had changed since Ah Un had intervened on his wards behalf. He now had a beautiful and powerful mate that was pupped, two adopted pups and his brother was now by his side. He had much to be thankful for. There would always be room in his stable for the dragon.
Later in the day.
Ah Un sat in the stable as all the other lords and ladies arrived. The palace was overcrowded today. They were glad that they had their own stall in the stable. They had done what they could for their master. Now all they had to do was wait for Rin and Shippou to come of age then they would seek out worthy mates for them. Then again with all the pups that were due in the palace it promised that they would be busy for many many years to come.
