A Fine Mess

Kaede eyed the demon woman suspiciously.

“So ye have come to us for help.”

Kamarasui nodded.

“Yes, I need to leave Japan. I wish to find a boat to take me back home to China. I do not belong here and it is only greed that had brought me to this island in the first place.”

Sango looked at Kamarasui and waited for her to tell her story.

“I was petitioned by a cat demon female to come to Japan to collar a powerful diayouki. I could not resist the temptation of using my powers for the amount of money she offered. I was to be rich, never worrying about money again.’
“It was to be a onetime spell however I was pulled in too deep once I collared Lord Sesshoumaru’s Mother. I did not intend to stay after this was done. I was to take the money and go. Instead I was pulled into a conspiracy that I wanted nothing to do with. However, my life was on the line and I am no fighter. I am a great sorceress, but even my powers are limited.”

Sango looked at Kaede.

“She cannot stay here. I do not wish for this village to be destroyed over one demon.”

Kaede nodded.

“I agree child. Lord Sesshoumaru will surely come to get his revenge.”

Kamarasui sighed.

“I will not stay here, but I do request to be taken to a village where I can find the help I need. I am not familiar with this place.”

Sango nodded.

“We will have Kohaku escort you to the next village. For your sake I suggest you flee as quickly as possible. There is no telling when Lord Sesshoumaru will come for you.”

Kaede looked Kamarasui in the eyes.

“You be a coward if ye flee without making amends for your wrong doing. I do not know what ye intend to do once you leave here, but be warned even if you escape to China, Lord Sesshoumaru will not rest until you are found. It best be that you stay here and face your punishment now rather than later. The Inu No Tashio is a good man and ruler. Ye should confront your fears child, not run from them.”

Kamarasui knew Kaede was right, but she was still afraid.

“I have nothing from the arrangement with Chise other than a few gold coins. I would rather try to face this fear then run from it, however I heard that Lord Sesshoumaru is not one to take excuses. I might as well be dead already than to face him since I had to collar him too.”

Sango was in shock.

“How were you able to do such a thing? He is very powerful.”

Kaede was amazed as well.

“My spells are a mixture of priestess spells and demon spells. Even the strongest demon can be subjugated with the proper combinations. I learned this from my Mother and she from her Mother. We have had this power since the first generation of my kind. I am the last of the water dragons, so if I die my people will all have died with me.”

Kaede frowned.

“Then it was rather foolish for ye to mess with the Inu No Tashio.”

Sango agreed.

“So you won’t help me then?”

Kamarasui stated softly.

“I will help you, but first you must tell the Inus that you are sorry for what you have done. I will see if I can pull a favor for you, but do not expect any more than I can give. Your grave has already been dug as far as I am concerned, but if you run it will only implicate that you were more involved in the abductions of the Inus and thus force them to inflict more pain upon you then necessary.”

Kamarasui knew that Sango and Kaede were right. She needed to tell the Inus the truth, hopefully before they lopped off her head.

“Very well. I will stay for my punishment.”

Kaede smiled.

“Good, then ye may stay here until the Lord comes to us. In return I ask that you do not practice any spells upon the villagers here and that you remain peaceful. If not I will banish you myself.”

Kamarasui nodded and waited for her fate to be sealed.

Sesshoumaru did not want Inuyasha to go to the village of humans. There was no reason to bother with them right now. However Inuyasha started throwing a fit and things at Sesshoumaru for being a big fluffy jerk face.

“The least I can do is check up on my friends and make sure Sango is being taken care of. Without Miroku there to protect her and help raise their children it will be difficult for her. I also think Rin deserves to hear from you.”

Sesshoumaru growled.

“Do not use my ward as an excuse for you to get involved with another human girl. I will not tolerate it Inuyasha. You are my mate.”

Inuyasha growled back at Sesshoumaru.

“It ain’t like that! You are being so damn anal. All I want is to make sure she is ok and perhaps have her stay here with the children. If she wants to stay where she is and if things look like they are safe at the village then at least I have some peace of mind.”

Sesshoumaru shook his head.

“You are too sentimental and too attached to humans Inuyasha.”

Inuyasha rolled his eyes.

“I am half human you know. Of course I am going to be attached. I am one of them too. Told ya that you wouldn’t understand and besides, they are still my pack members.”

Sesshoumaru did not want to stress Inuyasha out any more so he gave into this stupid request.

“Fine, but if everything is fine with your ‘pack’ then we leave is that understood?”

Inuyasha smiled.

“Yes.”

Sesshoumaru couldn’t believe he was doing this, but he would indeed check on his pack as well. Rin had been at the human village for a long time and was probably in need of a new kimono.

“We are going to stop by the tailors so I can have a kimono made for Rin before we leave. If you wish to pick up some gifts for your friends then we shall do so.”

Inuyasha was surprised. Sesshoumaru was being rather generous.

“Are you sure you are feeling well? I mean I wouldn’t want you to pass out from doing something nice for somebody else.”

Sesshoumaru huffed.

“I am only taking care of my responsibility to my ward Inuyasha. Do not take it for more than what it is.”

Inuyasha knew better, but he wasn’t going to argue any more with his brother. Sesshoumaru was being nice and there was no point in ruining a good thing.

Rin saw Kohaku getting ready to leave again on one of his quests to ‘save the world’ since he felt he had a lot to atone for since Naraku made him do horrible things to people. He was not going to go to hell if he could help it.

“Kohaku you are leaving us again?”

Rin stated timidly. Kohaku smiled.

“Only for a short while Rin. Why do you ask?”

Rin blushed.

“I have been thinking about what we talked about. Do you really think that Lord Sesshoumaru will approve?”

Kohaku looked into those doe like brown eyes.

“I will ask him for his blessing myself Rin. I want to marry you. I just hope that I will someday be worthy enough to be your husband.”

Rin then was pulled into Kohaku’s arms.

“I love you Kohaku. Please come back home safe.”

Kohaku smiled.

“Do not worry so Rin. I will return and before you know it I will have made something of myself. Soon we will have a home of our own I promise you.”

Giving Rin a tender kiss he climbed onto Kirara and flew away.
