Chapter 30

Sesshoumaru walked out of the palace leaving his mate with the other females. They had much to discuss and as he listened to the males behind him they weren't the only ones. He continued walking until he came to a large clearing not far from the palace. He walked to the large stone in the center of the clearing and sat down and waited for everyone else to catch up to him.

Inuyasha walked into the clearing to find Sesshoumaru sitting on a rock staring up at the night sky. "Don't tell me that you brought us all this way to stare at the stars."

Sesshoumaru turned his gaze on Inuyasha and smirked. "Not likely little brother. I have brought you out here so when I kill all three of you I wouldn't mess up the palace."

He almost laughed at the faces of the three males facing him. But he kept his mask in place.

Inuyasha looked over at Sesshoumaru and smiled. "You have tried many times and haven't done it yet. What makes you think you can now?"

Sesshoumaru shook his head at Inuyasha's words. "Are you really that dense little brother. I could have killed you many times over. It was I that watched over you as you slept attached to your tree by that vile miko. I could have easily killed you any time during those fifty years. It was my scent around your tree that protected you from other demons during those years also. Once I discovered the miko still lived if you want to call it that, I fought you to help you grow stronger. So that she could not bring harm upon you again."

He glared at his brothers shocked face. He sighed and shook his head and then looked back at his brother. "While I harbor nothing but hate for the dead miko I also know that you care about her deeply. Although after what I witnessed in my dining room I think that there may be hope for you yet and it offers some hope that the news I must tell you will not overly anger you."

Sesshoumaru stared at his brother for a second before shaking his head and then stood up and faced Inuyasha "With that said I must inform you of the miko's new death."

Inuyasha stared up at Sesshoumaru in shock. "She can't die. Do you know how many have tried and they all failed." He drew his sword and held it's point at Sesshoumaru. "You are just saying that so that I will fight you then when we go back to the females I will look bad in their eyes. Well I am not going to go along with your plan. If you want to kick my ass you had better come up with lie that is more believable than that."

Sesshoumaru walked toward Inuyasha. "I do not lie little brother. Ah Un killed her in a cave southeast of here. If you don't believe me then ask Kagome. She has the rest of her soul now and will attest to this."

Inuyasha saw his brother come toward him and heard the words he said and then suddenly Sesshoumaru disappeared from his sight. He looked around and couldn't find him anywhere. Even his scent was gone. Where did the son of a bitch go. Then he felt claws wrap around his neck and he was lifted off the ground. "What do you think you are doing?"

Sesshoumaru lifted Inuyasha up so that he could look him in the eye. "You will learn brother be it either the hard way or you can decide to learn the easy way. I will not allow you to draw your weapon on me again in My Lands. Let alone my palace grounds. The next time you draw your sword to battle me you had better be prepared to be maimed. I will overlook this transgression because you are upset over the miko's death. But do not let it happen again." He threw Inuyasha away from him and smirked when he collided with a tree. He watched Inuyasha sit up and hold his claws to his chest gasping for breath.

He walked over to his brother and knelt down beside him. He took a claw and forced Inuyasha to look him in the eye. "You thought it would be great fun to humiliate me. I would truly like to know why you sent the Lords that message. I know there is more to your reasoning than what you admitted to at supper."

Inuyasha jerked his face out of his brothers hand. "I don't know what your talking about!"

Sesshoumaru growled down at Inuyasha and flexed his claws in front of his face. "I can tell by your scent that you are lying brother. Now I will give you one last chance to tell me the truth."

Inuyasha just glared at Sesshoumaru and stood up and when Sesshoumaru stood up too he stood toe to toe with him. He looked up at him and brought his fist up to hit his smirking brother in the face.

Sesshoumaru grabbed Inuyasha's wrist and shook his head down at him. "I guess it is the hard way." He turned to the monk and his general. "You two are not to interfere."

Sesshoumaru released a little poison from his hand that was holding Inuyasha's. He could smell his brothers skin burning from his poison and then with a swift hit of his other hand to his brothers chest he turned his hand loose and sent the hanyou flying across the clearing again. He was upon the hanyou before he could move and had his sword pointed at the hanyou's throat. "Now brother how about telling me the truth."

Inuyasha glared at Sesshoumaru as he held Tokijin to his throat. "Fine you want the truth. I was using that story to get Kagome out of my way. I was going to steal the jewel when it was complete and use it to bring Kikyo back."

Sesshoumaru felt his eyes turning from gold to pink. "You would risk my mates life for that of the vile priestess that betrayed you so many times that you possibly couldn't count them." He looked down at the hanyou at his feet. "You disgrace our family with your evil plot. You betrayed one of your pack. Inu's protect their pack, brother, at all cost. I am glad that she is now in my pack along with Kitaro's mate. It seems females are not safe around you. You don't deserve the right to be her friend."

"It wasn't my fault. Kikyo had me under a spell." Inuyasha yelled at Sesshoumaru.

"And what of the other times you betrayed Kagome. Were you under a spell then too?" Sesshoumaru removed the sword from Inuyasha's throat and stepped back away from him. "I should kill you for what you have done to my mate. When you see her next remember it is because of her that you live. If she wouldn't make me sleep alone for the next hundred years I would kill you now."

He sheathed his sword and turned away from his brother. "Until you prove your worth to me you will not be allowed alone with Kagome. Her safety and well being is now my top priority. You may stay at the palace if you so wish but you will train under Kitaro to learn how to better control your mind so that you may not be so easily controlled by others."

"You can't keep Kagome from me Sesshoumaru!" Inuyasha stood up and started to go after his brother.

Sesshoumaru turned and faced his brother once again. "Oh, but I can Inuyasha. If I catch her alone with you I will inform her of what you and that vile miko had planned. Do you think she will care that you were under a spell? All she will see is another betrayal by you."

Inuyasha's shoulders slumped when he heard his brothers words. "Fine I will play by your rules. For now." He found a tree and sat down and glared at his brother.

Sesshoumaru watched Inuyasha sit down then he walked over to his general. "As for you Kitaro. How could you let him talk you into such a plan?"

Kitaro sat down on the rock that he had rose from and smiled at his lord. "My apologies Lord Sesshoumaru, but I thought it would be great revenge for all those bitches that you kept sending to my room when they were in heat so that they would stay away from you. Every spring I am so busy running away from females that I can't do my work. I would say this evened everything out." Kitaro leaned back on the rock and tried his best to control his laughter.

"If you weren't my oldest friend and my general I would be tempted to kill you. When we go on the quest for the shards you are to be on watch duty every night. Unless one of us see fit to relieve you. Maybe that will teach you not to meddle in my life. Oh and you will also be in charge of the children's safety on the trips also." Sesshoumaru saw the general grimace at the punishment and cringed at the second.

Kitaro hated guard duty and this would be torment beyond compare. His mate would be healed and he would not be able to mate her if he was standing guard. He just hoped Sango would be understanding about his punishment. But maybe he could get lucky and one of the other men would take pity on him and his mate. After looking around the clearing he could see that it would not be happening anytime soon. "Yes My Lord."

Once Sesshoumaru got Kitaro's answer he turned to the monk. "I understand that Inuyasha and Kitaro came up with the plan but you monk made a mistake more grievous than those two baka's."

Miroku didn't know what he had done that was so bad. All he had done was deliver one message. "Lord Sesshoumaru, I beg to differ. All I did was deliver one scroll. How could that be worse than what they had done?"

Sesshoumaru walked over to the monk and glared down at him. "Let me tell you of your crimes Houshi. 1. You went along with the baka's. 2. You actually delivered one of the scrolls. 3. While on business for the Western Lands you defiled one of the Northern Lords cousins. When on Western Lands business you should have brought no shame on my house. Now I will have to meet with that arrogant Ookami and settle any damages that he claims have been committed against him and pay him his dues. Until the time that the dues are paid you shall remain in my service to do what ever I see fit and if I ever catch you acting like a letch around any other woman but your mate I will give her cause to denounce you as her mate for you will no longer have the proper equipment to please her. Do you understand my terms?"

Miroku stared up at the angry Lord in front of him. He paled as he heard the consequences of any further lechery. Surely he wouldn't do something like that for a carelessly placed hand.

"Oh and monk if you think I would not do as I have said go talk to the guard that goes by the name of Riku. He used to be unable to control his urges around my servants and now he no longer has the urge to mate anyone." Sesshoumaru watched as the monk turned about three shades paler and quickly nodded his head to him. Sesshoumaru nodded back to him and then turned to the three. "Now that the unpleasant business is seen too lets retire to my study and there we can use the maps to see if we can perhaps discover the location of any shards. Not to mention that I have some excellent Sake that we can use to celebrate our matings." He looked at his brother and shook his head. "Well three of us have something to celebrate but you may come along brother." He turned away from the other males and started for the palace.

All three stood watching Sesshoumaru walk away. And they were all thinking the same thing. That there punishment was a very steep payment for a stupid plan.

Inuyasha walked behind Sesshoumaru mumbling about arrogant inu's and overbearing brothers.

Miroku walked behind Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha and contemplated how much his life had changed since he had listened to Inuyasha and Kitaro. If he had just said no then he wouldn't have been threatened with bodily harm from Lord Sesshoumaru. Although he did get Masumi as a mate he could have done without the rest of the problems they had caused him.

Kitaro lagged behind everyone else. The only thing on his mind was how to get one of the others to keep watch over the camp and the children for at least a few nights after they left on the quest.

Sesshoumaru stopped a servant and sent her to retrieve four cups and then continued onward to his study. He entered his study and grabbed a map from his desk and unrolled it and placed it on the table in the center of the room. He waved a hand and motioned for the males to sit down. "I will have runners sent to the outlying villages of the Western Lands. It would be helpful if I knew what they were looking for."

Inuyasha sat at the table with his arms folded across his chest and his hands in his haori. "Most demons that we slew that had jewel shards had decided to attack human villages. If we could find any villages that have seen more ferocious demon attacks than normal that might lead us to the shards. They also like to attack us when we are hunting the shards. Ones that hold the shards are drawn to Kagome because she now has a large part of the jewel and they can't resist an opportunity to gain a bigger piece of the jewel. So more than likely we will be under attack more often than not as we travel."

Sesshoumaru stared at Inuyasha and the monk. "You got attacked that often?"

"Yeah and all you did was add to our worries when you attacked us. As if we didn't have enough problems with Naraku sending puppets and hordes of demons at us not to mention the band of seven who gave us more than one headache. We had to worry about you attacking us at any given time since we knew you were around. At least when you joined us on the last leg of the quest for Naraku you relieved a little of the stress we had." Inuyasha watched as a servant entered and left a tray of cups on the table.

Sesshoumaru waited till the servant left and then rose and went to a shelf behind his desk and removed a flask and brought it to the table. He sat back down and poured everyone a cup of Sake and then raised his cup in the air. "To beautiful and powerful mates." He drank his cup down and watched as everyone drank theirs but Inuyasha. "Do you not like Sake Inuyasha."

"I like it just fine but I don't have a mate to drink too. But I will drink to your mates for I know two of the three are powerful and if Masumi is anything like Kouga and Ayame she is sure to be strong also." He put the cup to his mouth and downed the contents in one gulp.

Inuyasha reached for the flask and refilled every ones cup. "Now it's my turn." Once all the cups were refilled he raised his up. "To finding the final shards."

Miroku grabbed the flask and filled the cups then raised his. "May Inuyasha discover the true pleasure of finding a true mate."

Kitaro grabbed the flask and filled the cups again. "To one of you all taking guard duty so that I can have quality time with my mate."

Everyone but Sesshoumaru laughed at that toast. Soon all the Sake was gone and the men rose to find their mates. Staggering a little along the way.

Sesshoumaru turned to Inuyasha. "Don't forget to see Uzuki before you retire for the night."

"If it will keep that little watch dragon off my back I will go. I don't know how you live here with that wench. She is stubborn, ill mannered and very loud in her request." Inuyasha stomped out of the study but stopped when he heard his brothers speak again.

"It must be you Inuyasha. I have never seen Juria treat anyone the way she does you. She is usually a calm dragon and until tonight I have never seen nor heard her raise her voice above a whisper." Sesshoumaru smirked at Inuyasha "You certainly know how to bring out the best in people don't you brother."

"Yeah laugh it up. I can't wait till we leave to find the shards then I won't have to put up with her anymore." Inuyasha stomped out of the study and went to find the old hag.

Sesshoumaru watched him stomp away and then closed the door to his study. He would have to see to it that Juria joined them on the quest so that she could keep his brother in line. Now it was time to find his mate. It was getting late and he felt the need to retire to his chambers. He found her in the children's room telling them a story. He waited till the story was over and the children were finally asleep then he walked into the room and looked down at the sleeping children. He held his hand out to Kagome and helped her up then led her out of the room. "I think it's time for us to retire also."

Kagome smiled up at Sesshoumaru and stepped in front of him. She placed a hand on his chest to stop him. "But Sesshoumaru I am not the least bit tired and I don't want to go to sleep. Besides you have to tell me what you guys did besides drink Sake. Which I must say really smells quiet strong. "

Sesshoumaru smiled down at her and before she could protest picked her up and threw her over his shoulder and started carrying her down the hall. "Who said anything about sleeping mate."

Kagome pulled gently on his hair and then smiled. "Well then I think you should hurry to our room." She moved her arms a little bit and took a lesson from Miroku's book. She groped her mate. But it wasn't really a grope she caressed more than she groped. She felt Sesshoumaru move faster and before she knew it she was back in his room being thrown on the bed.

Sesshoumaru watched her bounce on his bed and then leaned back on her elbows to look up at him.

"Well that was fun but I hope that's not all the fun I am going to have tonight." Kagome stood up on the bed and without taking her eyes off of her mate she started undressing. She untied her obi and then threw it over the side of the bed holding her kimono closed. She moved the kimono until just her right shoulder was bare then moved it so that her left shoulder was bare as her right. All she let Sesshoumaru see was the thin straps on her shoulder. Kagome looked into Sesshoumaru's eyes and let the kimono fall to the bed to revealed the garment under it.

Sesshoumaru had never seen a garment like the one his mate wore. It was silk but very thin and left nothing to the imagination. It floated around her body gliding across her curves as she moved. Under the garment he saw a strange contraption that was similar to her normal undergarments but strangely different. This one had straps holding up the garments that she wore on her legs. He felt his member stir as he continued to look at his mate. "What are you wearing?"

Kagome laughed and walked over to the edge of the bed and faced her mate. She picked up the edge of the garment and held it in her hands. "This is what the women of my time wear to entice our mates into our beds. My mother must have put it in my bag when she was helping me pack. Although I don't think I want to know what she was doing with such a garment."

She moved the gown out of the way and ran her hands along her thighs. These are called hose and this thing holding them up is a garter belt." She ran her hands up her thighs till she came to the garter belt. She ran her fingers under them and up her waist and she ran her hands around the top of her waist. She turned around and put her hands on her hips. "And this is called a thong." She looked up and saw that Sesshoumaru's eyes had taken on a reddish tint. Maybe this outfit wasn't the best thing to wear.

Sesshoumaru walked up to Kagome and grabbed her ankle to hold her still then he used his other hand to feel her leg. He moved his hand up her calf and to her thigh moving the sheer garment out of the way. He had never felt anything like this before. Her legs felt like silk but they were covered by that thin material. He moved his hand till it was over the little string holding the small garment that she called a thong. He took his claws and cut first one string and then the other and pulled the garment away from her body. Now her curls were bare to his eyes. He looked up at his mate that was still standing on the bed and smiled. "Take it off."

Kagome smiled down at Sesshoumaru. "But I am not ready to take it off yet. I had a few other things that I wanted to do to you first."

"What ever you had planned Kagome can wait. Now take it off or I will do it and I would hate to see the garment torn beyond repair." He held his hand out and flexed his claws and moved his hand closer to the garment.

"All right already. I will take it off but you owe me for this." Kagome slid the straps down her arms and let the garment drop and pool at her feet and when Sesshoumaru turned her ankle loose she stepped away from the garment and bent down to pick it up.

Sesshoumaru snatched the garment before Kagome could reach for it and flung it on a chair by the balcony door. He didn't want the garment to get ruined. "Stand up Kagome." He watched as she stood up and looked down at him in question. He moved toward her and lifted her from the bed. He slid her body down his and when her feet touched the floor he turned her loose. He leaned down and licked at her neck and ran his hands over her breast. Cupping them in his hands he drew his claws along the ridge of her nipples. He didn't touch her nipples but caressed and kneaded her breast. He would glide his claws closer to her nipples and then move them back away from them.

Kagome felt his claws growing closer and closer to her nipples and when he moved them back away without giving them the attention she needed she arched her back forcing her breast into his hands.

Sesshoumaru felt her arch her back asking for his touch. But he would make her wait just a little while longer. She had thought to seduce him but he would show her he was the alpha in every way. He leaned down and ran his tongue along her shoulder and down to the slope of her breast. He moved closer to his gaol and then moved back up. His other hand was mimicking the movement of his tongue on her other breast. He licked his way back down and when he felt Kagome arch against him again he moved away. Every time she moved toward him he would move his mouth and claws away.

Kagome undid his armor and stepped back so that it wouldn't fall on her feet then untied his sash. She threw it behind her not caring where it landed then opened his haori. She ran her hands along his chest and to his shoulders and pushed the garment off his body. Then she slid her hands down his chest till she came to the ties to his hakama's. She untied them and let them drift to the floor. When he stood before her in nothing but his loin cloth she slid her hands along the edge of them. She moved them close to the ties and then moved them away. Each time she moved her hands away they drifted further down the front of them. When her fingers came into contact with his member she felt it jerk against her. She ran her fingers over the tip of it lightly then removed her hand to untie the loin cloth that was keeping him hid from her.

Sesshoumaru felt his loin cloth fall and then he felt Kagome's hand on his shaft. Not caring that his claws were digging into her hips and his forceful thrust slammed her into the wall. When her body clenched his shaft he slammed into her one last time and let his seed spill into her body.

He refused to release her and carried her to the bed. Once he was standing by the bed he couldn't figure out how to accomplish his next task with out turning her loose so he lifted her till she was free from his body and laid her on the bed. He picked up a sheet and used his claws to tear four strips from it. He captured one hand and tied one strip around it. When it was secure he tied the other to the post on the bed. Then he did her other hand and then moved on to her legs. When she was spread eagle on the bed he stood over her and smiled.

Kagome awoke from her stupor to find herself tied down on the bed. She jerked her arms and tried to get loose but nothing seemed to work. "What are you doing Sesshoumaru?"

"I am but showing you who is the master in our bed Kagome. You try to seduce me and that I don't mind but I will be the one in control and you will learn this." Sesshoumaru smiled down at his helpless mate let his eyes roam over her body.

Kagome looked up at Sesshoumaru when he looked down at her. It was then that she saw the reddish tint in his eyes had turned a deep maroon. She growled lightly at him and turned her head to the side showing her mark to him and froze.

Sesshoumaru saw his mate show him the submissive stance but he had to teach her that he was the alpha in bed and out of it. And he would make sure that she would enjoy every minute of it. He laid on the bed and bit into his mark. As he licked at the new blood spilling from the mark he smelt her arousal. He released his fangs from her neck and slid over her body till he rested between her thighs. He moved down her body until his head was between her thighs and he was looking at her center.

Her nub was swollen from her earlier release and was peaking out of the curls. He blew on it and watched as her body shuddered. He licked it with the tip of his tongue and her body thrusted toward him. Sesshoumaru growled at her and took his left arm and placed it over her hips to hold her still. His right hand moved down her curls and parted her folds till her nub was completely bared to him. He inhaled her sweet scent that was heavily laden with arousal and lowered his head to her core. Then he covered them both up and took her back into his arms and held her until he joined her in sleep.
