Chapter 3

I don’t not own Inuyasha or any of the other characters, or make any kind of profit from my story.

I just wanted to say thank you to harpergunbunny, for your comment thus far. I did have a story under the name kimiko-san called forever connected or something like that, but I deleted it. The first two chapters or so came directly from that story. Other than that I personally don’t remember reading a story similar to mines, and if I did I apologize completely and give credit to the original author. Let me shut up so you can enjoy the story.

Chapter3

Another five years went by and now sign of Hizori. The staff and even Totosai discontinued their search for the young hanyou, giving her a proper burial. Her remembrance placed between her mother and father. Her brothers refusing to visit the site knowing she is still alive. “Alright boys, that’s enough for today. Get a good night’s rest, tomorrow is another day.” Totosai started walking towards the mansion, leaving the boys gasping for breath after their intense battle training. “Mh you gotten stronger, you almost hit me this time”, Sesshomaru was picking himself up and grabbing his sword. He stared towards the west, watching the bright sunset. Inuyasha laid on his back enjoying the view “not to mention faster too, I did beat you running around the grounds you know.” (Silence) “only because I let you win.” Sesshomaru right eye was twitching from the very ignorance of his brother. “Last time I let you win” he thought to himself. Another wave of silence fell between the young boys. A gently breeze started to blow carrying the scent of cherry blossoms, their mother’s scent. The wind stopped and before them a small bird stood there looking at them, their mother’s scent strongly pulsating from its body, their marks tingling with this warm loving feeling.  This small bird was very unusual but beautiful; they never saw one of its color or features. Her feathers were a light brown, her eyes…a familiar brown. On top of her head, her feathers seemed to resemble hair, which would spike up whenever danger was approaching. (Since their nose and ears weren’t nearly as developed to warn of danger.) And of course the obvious smell of cherry blossoms was a dead giveaway. Izzy, as the boys now call her, began to chirp their favorite song.

A year after their mother’s death this strange bird appeared on their mother’s grave.*flash back one year ago*(an hour after sunrise) Inuyasha and Sesshomaru was in their beds, sleeping, in a couple minutes a chamber maid would be in to wake them up. Totosai and 200 soldiers were training to help the wolf tribe in the south, against fire winged youkais threatening their land. The smell of wild boar, fish and fruit filled the air as breakfast was being cooked. Suddenly the house grew quiet, the solider stopped training, and the boys snapped out of their sleep. Sesshomaru sat up, sniffing the familiar scent but couldn’t quite detect it. Inuyasha raced to the window searching the land for something, anything that would explain the scent. This recognizable sound came floating through the window. All eyes in The Great Lands grew wide and filled with tears. Not tears of sadness, but with hope. Not a moment to spare the boys took off running towards the sound. “It’s coming from the grave yard” Sesshomaru yelled out never stopping his sprint. Grinning through his teeth “I bet you I’ll get there first” Inuyasha picked up speed and raced ahead of his brother. Never one to resist competition did the same.

When they reached the grave yard, they stood frozen with shock. The smell of cherry blossoms blanketed the air. Moments later Totosai and a couple of the maids arrived, a smile creeping across his “the gods are in your favor boys.” They stood there tears streaming down the cheeks, “mother, is that you?” Sesshomaru choked out. The bird, which stood in their mother’s head stone, tilted her head to the side and cooed. She began to take to into the air, as she flew towards the ascending sun, she chirped out the song that filled the boys dream at night. Totosai walked towards the boys, placing his arms around them never taking his eyes of the retreating bird, “your mother is going to be your guardian. Her love and sacrifice for you, granted her another life.”

*forward present * Izzy finished her song as the sun finally set. She flew close around the boys a couple of times; they figured her version of a hug, before flying into the darkening sky. Inuyasha got up and stretched his arms, as his brother dusted off the grass that clung to his clothes. Giving his brother a toothy mischievous grin, Inuyasha walked up to his brother and placed his two hands tightly on his shoulders. Eyeing him cautiously “Inu, what are you up to?” Inuyasha using all his might pushed his brother over causing him to tumble over, then took off running towards the mansion, laughing “I’m getting the bigger piece of meat this time.” Sesshomaru popped up, face beet red, he can’t believe he fell for his trick; took off running. He’ll be DAMNED if he takes his piece of meat. After having full bellies and a warm bath, the boys lay in bed restless, their birth marks seemed to be tingling almost vibrating. The image of a full moon over a lake kept flashing across their closed eyes. The moon was massive and bright white, probably the biggest you’ve ever seen. It floated so close to the water you could probably jump up and touch it. Underneath the moon laid a bruised, battered and barely breathing Hizori. Izzy landed on her shoulder, rubbing her face against hers. Inuyasha popped up, a bead of sweat appearing on his forehead. “Inuyasha look at this.” Sesshomaru almost hissed out, staring out the colossal bed room window. Inuyasha ran to his side and was astonished by the sight. The very same moon floating over the lake shone brightly in the night sky. “That lake is on our land, can we go alone?” Sesshomaru smiled, looking at his brother “lets go bring her home!”
