Chapter 3- Bad luck


Inuyasha walked Kagome home that night, it wasn't to far and they both liked to walk....Inuyasha held onto Kagome's hand the whole way too. Once they where far enough away from Miroku and Sango of course... A bit after walking Inuyasha's ears perked up a bit. He took ahold of KAgome and brought her close to him, as tight as he possibly could have her. Kagome was in shock and didn't know what to say but she heard Inuyasha growling a bit.

"Inuyasha, what's wrong? She asked looking around trying to figure out what he was growling at. He didn't answer her, he just stood there and kept her close to him. That was when Kagome saw the girl that looked like herself.

"Kikyo...What are you doing here?" Inuyasha snapped at her. Kikiyo almost looked hurt at his aggression towards her, but a sly smirk crossed her face as she turned her gaze to Kagome, and smiled sticking her finger out to Kagome to point to her and then she motioned for Kagome to walk towards her but Inuyasha held her tight.

"What do you want with her? She has nothing to do with it Kikyo..."

"Oh but she does...you see the pretty little girl here...she has certain powers...pristess powers....thats right inuyasha she is just like me....ain't that a doosy Inuyahsa? You tried so hard to stay away from "My kind" and you ended right back in the same situation as you were before...."
She laughed hard but Inuyasha grew angrier...

"No Kikyo..." He said composing himself... "There is one thing about her that you will never have..."

Kikyo perked up... "Whats that?"

"My love..."

Both KAgome and Kikyo looked at him... "WHAT!?" They both said in unison. Kagome more than kikyo seeing as how she didn't really understand what the hell was going on.

"I don't believe you Inuyasha...you love me...not her...i know you do..." Kikyo said tears forming in her eyes.

"Wrong..." He said harshly

At that he pulled Kagome even closer and leaned down softly taking her chin into his hand softly lifting it to him as his eyes closed and his lips softly touched hers for only an instant when Kikyo pulled out an arrow and a bow and shot Kagome in the shoulder. Kagome screamed in pain as the arrow hit and tears formed in hers and Inuyasha's eyes as Kagome fell to the ground...

"inu..." She started to say as Inuyasha grabbed ahold of Kagome and held her in his arms.

"No....KAGOME!!!.... KAGOME!!" He screamed as he looked at Kikyo... "You will pay for this...If Kagome dies...you will wish you had never met me kikyo..."
At that he picked her up bridal style and ran as fast as he could towards the hospital.

Kagome woke up in a room that was white....She knew she was in a hospital by the smell. She looked over and saw Inuyasha sleeping on the bed right next to her, his arm around her side... Her mom was sleeping in the chair by the table, they both looked so peacful asleep. As she moved slightly Inuyasha woke up and smiled when he saw Kagome awake and saw the smile on her face.

"Good morning....How do you feel?"

"Fine" She said "What happened, why did kikyo want to kill me?"

"She doesn't like me very much and she hates everyone that is close around me. she is a bitch...don't worry about her....I'll take care of her."

Kagome smiled and then thought about what had happened last night "Inuyasha...Did you mean what you said about you loving me last night?"

"Kagome...I love you as a friend...i wanted to show kikyo that she doesn't mean anything to me anymore..." He said "I'm sorry...."

"No thats alright...i understand..." She said sadly

Inuyasha shook his head...."No, No, Thats not what i meant...it's not that i don't love you...i do as a friend right now though...i mean i only did meet you and well...are you alright Kagome?"

"Yea, i'm fine...thats what i meant...i thought you didn't love me as a friend....thats why i was sad."

Inuyasha smiled and wrapped her up in his arms..."I'd like to get to know you though...If thats alright..."

Kagome nodded and wrapped her arms around his neck, she buried her face into his neck and snuggled him lightly she leaned up and whispered in his ear softly "I would love that Inuyasha"

He smiled and snuggled back with her not wanting to let go of her. Kagome turned and looked over seeing her mother wake up, she looked at her daughter lightly.

"Oh Kagome, your awake? How do you feel? Inuyasha sat by your side the whole time he slept there next to you and would not leave, even when they did you x-rays. He was afraid that they would hurt you so he stayed there. He is a very nice boy, I like him very much."

Inuyasha and Kagome just smiled at each other and Inuyasha leaned over doing the eskimo kiss with her, she started to giggle and her mother smiled.

Kagome was discharged from the ER about an hour later and Inuyasha helped her home and tucked her in bed as she fell asleep from all the medicine the hospital gave her. Inuyasha layed Kagome underneath her comforter and he layed on top holding on to her without letting go. He fell asleep with his head inches from Kagome's . She shifted slightly and Inuyasha woke up looking at her, he smiled, she looked so peaceful asleep her raven hair spread across her pillow and her cheeks were so soft, almost like silk. He brushed them softly with his hand. His hand went to her neck then her shoulder and then her arm, his hand reaching her hand he took hold of it and fell back to sleep. This continued for a few days, he would go to school, get all her homework and bring it home to her. After helping her with her homework, he would watch some t.v. with her, read her his favorite book, and then they would fall asleep next to her, not allowing any harm to come to her. He was growing very fond of her, everyone could see it, Miroku and Sango especially. Inuyasha would not go anywhere, he was always at Kagome's side. It was nice though that Inuyasha had finally found someone to protect.

Kagome and Inuyasha were asleep when the alarm clock went off, this was the day Kagome went back to school, it had been about a week and it was time for her to try, she could write with her arm now and she could walk around and she was no longer in pain, the doctors were actually surprised at how fast she healed, her mother on the other hand knew that she possessed prietess powers, which helps the healing a bit. Inuyasha rolled over and smacked the alarm clocked.

"Feh, this is bull shit, getting up this early in the damn morning. Kagome...are you awake?"

She turned over to face him when she blushed from them being so close. Even aftert him staying with her every night and sleeping in the same bed with him she was still gittish around him, she found herself falling for him, he protected her so well and he never let anyone he didn't know get any where near her. He wouldn't even let Souta near her, because he hadn't met him yet.

"I am, but i don't want to be. Come on Inuyasha..lets go get some breakfast."

"Are you alright to get up? Are you in any pain? Maybe you should give it one more day"

She smacked him with her "bad" hand and he smiled.

"Atleast i know your strong so you can handle me" He said as he attacked her and started tickling her. "Can you handle me?" He said laughing as he watched her try to scramble her way out of his grasp. She finally got away and she ran into her bathroom to get dressed, he walked over to her closet and pulled out his clothes and changed quickly. Kagome walked out wearing her school uniform. She walked out to see Inuyasha fooling around with his tie. She laughed and walked up to him helping him. He watched her as she tied his tie for him.

"Kagome....i..." he started but was cut off by Kagome's mother running in yelling.

"KAGOME....KAGOME!!" Her mother yelled.

"What is it...whats wrong?"

"Your aunt..in the states...she is very ill. I'm afraid that your grandfather souta and i are going to go over there. Would you like to come?"

Kagome shook her head no "I'm sorry but i have alot of catching up to do i'm afraid i will just stay here. I'll be alright"

"Ok thats fine, but only if Inuyasha agrees to stay here with you while i'm gone? It will be awhile, you'll just have to basically live here."

Inuyasha nodded "I have been doing it for awhile, whats a little longer? I'll do it" He said

"Good i'll leave some money and then send you more later. We are leaving in a bit so i love you kagome, we will call soon. You two be good and please kagome, be careful." Her mother said and they both nodded. Kagome gave her mother a hug and a kiss and then her and Inuyasha ran off to school.

Kagome and Inuyasha walked through the school doors when kikyo saw kagome, she smirked and Inuyasha growled at her "Don't even think about it kikyo" He snapped and everyone looked their way. Inuyasha was holding Kagome behind him his arm protecting her and his other in a fist. Everyone knew that Kagome was not the person to mess with, because of inuyasha being so protective of her, he was never that protective over kikyo, and some of the students laughed at kikyo. She got angry and she smiled as miroku and sango approched them. Sango took Kagome and miroku stood beside inuyasha. they looked at each other and nodded. Miroku pulled out some of his sutures and threw them on kikyo, she fell to the ground, she felt bound, she couldn't move an inch. Inuyasha walked up to her and stood over her body.

"Do you really want you life to end? I will not let you hurt Kagome so, just forget about it!" He said and she became disgusted.

"SHE WILL NEVER LOVE YOU THE WAY I DO INUYASHA, I WILL TAKE YOU BACK, YOU HEAR ME KAGOME, INUYASHA WLL BE MINE!!!"

Everyone just started to laugh and walked away from kikyo, she began to cry and a man walked over towards her.

"Are you alright" he said touching her skin which broke the surtures.

She nodded and got up him helping her. "Who are you?" She asked slightly looking at him taking in his features.

"My name is naraku..."

I know, its a cliffy, but i gotta at least have one of those right? anyways how am i doing? i am still on vacation, and well i just can't think. once i get home it will be alot better i promise. anyways....i wonder what will happend with naraku and kikyo. And what about sango and miroku. and what will happen while kagomes mother is away? *wink wink* Well till next time....
