It Can't Rain Forever

A sequel in sorts to Rainy Day activities. A kind reviewer brought to my attention that the ending seemed too rushed and I agree. I think I rushed myself there, so here’s sort of an aftermath chapter to that day. Enjoy! (and I know the titles been overdone but considering it was raining the chapter before, what can I do *laugh)

Authors note: For all the reviews for the sequel to Rainy Day activities, I thank you for pointing out that someone had already used that line for a fic title. I had no idea, was on vacation (at Gencon) was working a lot and haven’t read some of the newer Inuyasha fics. I only picked It Cant Rain Forever because I liked that line from the Crow and the previous story had something to do with rain. I will stress right here my story is not taking off this other author, or is about Rin at all. Nothing but Inu/Kag.
Just ignore the title if you wish, or consider it just ‘Sequel to Rainy Day Activities’, that would be fine. I change the titles for each Inuyasha fic I do so in no way will It Cant Rain Forever be a continuing title.

“It can’t rain forever”

Kagome listened to the silence in her bedroom. It had stopped raining a few hours ago and aside from Inuyasha’s snoring, the silence was palpable. It gave Kagome time to rest near her beloved, and reflect on what they had done.
Teasing aside, she had been too bold, he had been too daring and….well it had hurt. Mama warned her the first time would always hurt for the woman, but it had been so sweet at the same time… Inuyasha’s earnest expression, his adoring eyes and hands… he loved her. He was about to say so…wasn’t he?
Kagome turned her head to gaze at her hanyou, contently slumbering at her side. He was turned toward her, nose pressed close to her shoulder to keep her scent to him. While this touched her, she felt they shouldn’t’ be doing this at all. Lying together naked, lying together as one….
Kagome’s hands ran over his side and back as she sniffed. “I do love you…”
Inuyasha panted in his sleep and his ear twitched. She kissed his cheek and sat up, reaching for her discarded yukata. Poor guy must have worn himself out, she thought wryly, and left the room to check on their laundry and get a snack from Mama.
* * * *
“So much for mothers intutition…” Kagome mumbled to herself, walking back upstairs with a basket of their clothing. Mama didn’t even notice I was walking differently! Then again, maybe she was being kind…I wouldn’t’ have wanted to talk about it. Kagome quietly entered her bedroom and spotted inuyasha sitting up and yawning.
“Our clothes are dry, Inuyasha,” she whispered, setting the basket down and tightening her yukata obi. The naked hanyou grinned and rubbed his eyes. “Who needs clothes?” he asked daringly and stood up to reach for her. She felt herself drawn to him regardless of her doubts and leaned against his chest as his busy hands tugged at her obi.
“Damn thing….cmon Kagome, you didn’t have to leave,” he said happily, his eyes shining. Kagome’s heart leaped and faltered at once. Was it just about what they had done? Was that it for him? Her heart bled for him and he wanted another romp in the sack…. You can do it, do the adult thing, Kagome.
“I was just checking our laundry,” she chided and winced involuntarily at the childish tone she had used. Inuyasha’s ears twitched and he snuffed in reply, kissing her neck. Her head titlted back regardless of her mind but she shook her head.
“Hmm..Inuyasha…not now….” She pushed at his strong shoulders. Inuyasha’s head raised, confused.
“But we….I thought it was okay…” he stammered, nervous again. His ears drooped and Kagome’s heart pounded.
“It was! But it was too soon…I’m not even in high school yet!” she protested.
Inuyasha shrugged, talk of school going right over his head again. Books weren’t important to him as what you could learn and do in your life. Like hunting youkai and tracking shikon shards….those were real skills! Try and tell that to his bitch…she was so intent on going back to that learning place to do a job when she already had a life trade.
“Keh, cmon Kagome, you already do important things!” he answered, grinning down at her. She pushed on his chest ineffectively.
“Its important for me here…. Inuyasha…. “she stammered. “ Please, get dressed…”
“…What?” he asked quietly. His hands stopped at her waist and he stared down at her in confusion. Kagome’s heart sped up, damn him. For looking so cute and desirable at once and he wasn’t even aware he was doing it! She almost faltered but stepped away from him. “Your clothes are dry…and we’re going back soon.” There that should make him happy.
“….Kagome….” Inuyasha murmured then shook his head and stepped into his hakama as her back turned to him. Not even a look? Damn… He did the ties and reached for his undershirt and haori, tucking in and making sure all was tightened before he said he was done. His heart sank as the beautiful woman he made his turned to look at him sadly. Why was his bitch so sad? They were mated now… while he hadn’t bitten her in his passion yet, wanting their first time to be as pleasurable as it could be, she was his. He had taken her. Didn’t she realize that?
“I’m sorry, Inuyasha…. I don’t think we should have done that,” Kagome whispered, rubbing a tear from her eye.
Inuyasha’s heart thudded and went stil. “What? Kagome…I need you!” Great, way to sound like a selfish sex fiend. His mouth went dry then he touched her shoulders.
“I need…_you_. You, and nothing else….I go crazy if I’m not near you…” his words trailed off when her hands covered his.
“I know you do…..but do you love me?” she murmured, tears sliding down her cheeks. Inuyasha’s heart ached and he held her neck, licking her tears away. It was a very doglike thing to do but his bitch wasn’t protesting. He took that as a sign of acquiescence and pressed his forehead to hers.
“Bitch, I do love you….it’s always been you,” he confessed, more nervous than some hours ago when he’d done something far more daring to prove that.
Kagome smiled at him and Inuyasha’s anxiety lifted instantly. What her smile could do to him…. “Oh Inuyasha…” she smiled and touched his cheek.
“Kagome..” Inuyasha murmured, his confession warming his blood and making him ache again. He could show her right now how much he loved and wanted her… Before his arms could bring her fully against him, she stepped away.
“We’re going back soon, so we should be rested. No sex.”
“…NANI??”
Kagome laughed at his pouting expression and kissed his cheek. “You’re so cute when you pout.”
Inuyasha stumbled, not wanting to just revert to their old bantering relationship. “But…we….we gave ourselves to each other!”
Kagome hugged him brieflt. “We did….and I’m still yours, I promise…but I need to think about this next step we just did.” Inuyasha relaxed against her.
“Okay Kagome… I’ll give you your time.” At her brilliant smile, he brightened alittle. Sooner or later she would be mated to him fully.

What do you think? Hopefully it pleases. I woke up today regretting I rushed my ending last night. But I hope this makes it up for it. Kagome will not be able to resist the sexiness that is Inuyasha sooner or later! Bwahhaha….
