Miko
IMPORTANT A/N: Just a notice to all who have recognized--yes, this is an adaptation from Kuzuremasu with permission from Khemet. Email her if you don't believe me. We thought it would be interesting to see if the story still flowed as well with fanfiction names, hence this result. A repeat for some readers, but new for many. Thanks for being so observant, but please read the A/N's in the future.
Chpt 3 Miko
The place went into turmoil as Sesshomaru abruptly stood up and left. Kagome didn't notice, still enwrapped in the scalding liquid warmth that had melted her insides when his icy gaze of obsidian darkness had pierced straight through her. Her mouth was dry, her heart fluttKagurang rapidly as she fought to regain control of her pulse and senses.
“Sango, maybe we should go.”
Sango turned towards Kagome with a protest on her lips until she saw her friend and coworker's face. Kagome looked ashen, as is all of the color had drained from he, and her entire body was trembling slightly. She didn't know exactly what had happened—they were late, entering just as the groom did, a wildly gorgeous man with the most intense stare that she had ever seen.
“We should really stay for Rin, Kagome. We are her guests.”
“I think maybe her family should deal with this. I don't think this is something we should be involved with.”
Almost as if on cue, a matronly looking woman scuttled before them and began to gently but firmly usher them out of the door.
“Thank you for coming ladies. I am Taisho Izayoi, and can help you become acquainted with the reception and ceremony. For now, however, I think it is best if you returned to your hotel while we...settle matters with the families.”
Kagome turned to reach the door first, tugging Sango behind her as she left. Izayoi pressed them once more as they started on the treacherous way down to their car.
“Please, just stay at the hotel. I am sure we will have this worked out momentarily.”

There was no point in asking, so he didn't bother.
“When do you want to return?”
Sesshomaru didn't bother to look up as he tore off his ceremonial robes and changed into his standard gear—white upon white upon white pants, shirt, and shoes.
“Immediately—no. I need you to do something for me first.”
Inuyasha didn't like the sound of this. It was bad enough that they were brothers, but he knew he should never have started working for him. Bad, bad idea.
“I need you to call a few hotels.”

“Dammit! It wasn't supposed to happen this way!”
Kagura threw the magazine that she had been reading across the floor as Kikyou tried on her newest outfit. Taisho Sesshomaru. The bastard. He was supposed to pay—to be humiliated when she very publicly told the entire bridal party of her tryst with the cold-hearted creep. Or even better yet, he could die slowly as she blackmailed the jerk into absolute submission.
But he had cancelled the entire betrothal, robbing her of her moment of glory all too soon.
Damn him to hell!
“So what do you think about this one? Think it's revealing enough?”
Kagura rolled her eyes at Kikyou, the girl she had been “friends” with for over a year. They were meant for each other, really. Kagura was the down and dirty one, willing and able to do just about anything required to get the job done, while Kikyou was elegant and manipulative—eye candy that could poison silently. They had met doing “special parties” for wealthy foreign men visiting Japan. Kagura used her oral fixation while Kikyou could be—well, Kikyou was extremely flexible. Kagura took an appreciative look at the garment—a low-slung blue number that plunged to nearly the crack of the girl's ass in the back. It was nice.
Real nice.
“Did you hear a single word I said, bitch?”
Kikyou rolled her eyes and fingered the material of the dress. Pure silk. Only the finest.
“Yeah, I did.”
“And?”
“And I think you're missing the bigger picture.”
“Which is—enlighten me already!”
“Didn't you see the look he gave that miko who walked in? There's something there that can be used. We find her, you'll find you're way to blackmail Sesshomaru.”
Kagura thought about that for a moment. She had completely missed the look, but if Kikyou was right, then maybe this could still work after all. But she would have to play it cool around that dolt of a sister of hers. Ayumi could be so...
“Wait—how are we supposed to find this miko, anyway? You know I can't ask Ayumi anything without her telling everyone everything.”
Kikyou clucked at her figure in the mirror approvingly.
“Relax, Kagura. Wherever Sesshomaru goes, Inuyasha is not far behind. And I've been owing him a visit...”
***
Inuyasha scowled darkly as he stalked down the over-wallpapered corridor of the hotel. Finding the woman would not be easy—he was in a completely different city, different context than he was used to and did not have his normal alliances. Finding this girl would mean making a pact with the devil—something that he did not relish in the least.
He hesitated before knocking, wondering exactly how he had gotten into this in the first place, when the door to the room opened suddenly and rational thought flew out of his mind.
“I was wondering when you'd stop by, lover. Long time, no see...”
