Chapter 2
So it begins, but will it end?



Kagome opened her brown eyes, only to be closed again from the glare through the forest canopy.
It was a bright sunny day for our travellers, but in there hearts it was dreary like a rainy day. Inuyasha smelt the dread coming off his companions and thought best to try to lighten there sprits….his way. “Hey! How do you guys expect to battle Naraku with such a poor sprit?! I won’t let anything happen to you guys!! So just lighten up ok?!” he said, but he was trying to be as nice as he could but he failed…..miserably. Even thought normal people would yell back….his comrades knew him best, and brightened up smiling at the inu-hanyou with happy faces. “Thank you Inuyasha that was most refreshing! May Buda watch over us!” said Miroku smiling happily. “Yeah!”, said Kagome with a light cheer.

With that they ate what they could and saved what they needed, because they did not know how long the battle will last and if they did win they would need food for the journey home. Rin and Shippou played in the forest, close to there protectors eyes and noses. They could hear the children counting while they played hide and seek, Kagome made sure to teach them so they would have something to do while they took short brakes. Jaken did not like the little kitsune-youkai playing with Rin, but Sesshoumaru said she could so he did not EVER question him unless he wanted to parish. In fear that he would not use Tenseiga to resurrect him, and he would be lost to an eternity of death for his loyalty to his lord. The children came back after playing a winding game of hide-and-seek, Shippou curled up on Kagomes lap while Rin laid beside Sessy just resting till they start heading off again.

After a few minutes they started heading off again, they all walked so they would not work themselves too hard before the battle that was slowly coming over the horizon. They where slowly walking when Kagome slipped and fell on her elbows and knees, Inuyasha rushed over and picked her up carrying her into the forest opening. “You guys keep going! I am just going to take care of THIS and meet you in a few!” Inuyasha said holding Kagome bridal style.

He sat down on a big rock, and put Kagome on his knees to survey the damage. He sighed, and brought her knee to his mouth and licked the wound much to Kagomes dismay. “D….don’t! I….I brought the medic kit you don’t have to!”. She said while shaking, not in fear…but in something else. “KEH!! I have to clean it and if any youkai smell the blood they will come after you, and we don’t need to fight on our hands BEFORE the big battle!”. He said out of annoyance, then he smelt it….a tingling smell that tickled his senses and called to his youkai blood. He wanted more….So much more! He closed his eyes and sniffed for the smell, only to come up to Kagomes intimate area. He blushed and so did Kagome, he just “Keh’ed!”. He never been so embarrassed to have…smelt what she was feeling, it made him blush even redder then his haori and hakama. “S….sorry….” was all Inuyasha said, he was too shocked to say anything else. “I…I still have to clean it thought…so stop what your feeling and just let me clean you!”, he said out of frustration on having her so…ready yet he could do nothing. He cleaned her cuts and scraps, happy that she pushed her feelings aside to let him clean her.

He put her down to sit on the rock, where he sat moments before. “Stay here….ill be back to get you…”, he said before he ran deeper into the forest where he smelled a river, just so he could cool off before he headed back to his comrades. He did not want Sesshoumaru to smell his…want; he would never live it down if he did. He jumped into the water shedding his clothes as he jumped, and dived into the water happily. He swam around for a few minutes till his blood settled down, then he jumped out and shook like a dog and re-clothed himself. He picked up Kagome and ran towards his comrades and gave timid little sniffs to see if she still was...ready...which she was not to Inuyashas happiness and disappointment. He caught up to the group and starting slowly walking, while he put Kagome down on the ground knowing that she was well enough to walk on her own.

Now and then Rin and Shippou would walk together just to enjoy getting to stretch and move, not always to be sitting on the back of the bigger youkai. Sango and Miroku walked side by side behind Inuyasha and Kagome, Sango was wary of his lecherous hand. When she looked over to Miroku he was looking at her and gave her a charming smile with no groping involved, making her blush and look away. Miroku smiled to himself happy that he could ‘voice’ his intentions on the young taiyija, with out groping the poor girl and earning a lump from Hiraikotsu or her dainty fist. Inuyasha kept front with Kagome in toe making sure to watch out if he starts to slow down, so they won’t bump into each other like a few days before. Kouga and Ayame where not far behind, they made sure to keep up but stayed close to each other to keep watch in the back of the ‘pack’. Sesshoumaru walked in the middle close to Rin and Shippou, with Jaken tagging along behind pouting that he has to put up with such…insolence towards his lord.

Inuyasha, Sesshoumaru, Kouga, Ayame and the big youkai all took a sniff of the air. “This Sesshoumaru says where close….we should take rest now….it’s not much longer”, said Sesshoumaru. “Hey! Why don’t we keep going?! Why let it go any longer, we could be done this fight long before the sun rises!!” Inuyasha said. “This Sesshoumaru disagrees, why not wait a little longer to save our energy for the awaiting battle”, he said with more of a statement then a question. Everyone nodded there heads, they were growing tired from the long walk as the sun was starting to set. This would have been hard for the human companions to help in the dark, if they couldn’t see what was attacking them. “Keh!” said Inuyasha angry that his ‘friends’ betrayed him…but he did see a point, they wouldn’t have been able to see, and they looked tired. They made camp that night away from the putrid smell of Narakus miasma, so the youkai could also sleep while they changed watch that night.

Sesshoumaru put Rin to bed close to his sleeping place and Kagomes, so she would be close to Shippou. He seen the way Rin looked at Shippou and he felt for her, that’s why he did not tell him to stay away, more like he encouraged it. But no one will know of his plans, for his ‘little girl’. “This Sesshoumaru is going out in the forest, to find if there is anything that could disturb us tonight.” He said. Inuyasha thought that was odd of him…but did not object to it, so he waved him off with his hands still tucked in his Haori resting on a branch high up over the camp.

Sesshoumaru left making sure to look back at Rin to see if she was still asleep, which she was. He ventured into the forest, knowing what he came for. “Kagura!” he whispered/yelled. Out of the forest came Kagura with her riding feather in her finger, smiling at him while she tucked it in her hair. They approached each other, and a hit of a smile was on Sesshoumarus lips while they kissed passionately. They waited days to see each other, and could not wait any longer. They made a plan to be mated after the battle is done, it would be a glorious day for both. For now all they could do was kiss and look, not that they minded, but they longed for more. “This Sesshoumaru will protect you during the battle, and then we will be together forever.” Kagura sighed happily and leaned into his embrace, just enjoying the time they had till Naraku would call on her again. She was growing tired of his ‘jobs’, but she obeyed with much resentment. Kagura cringed and clutched her chest, growling at the pain. “Naraku is calling, I must go.” She said sadly. They kissed one last time goodbye and she plucked her feather out of her hair and was off. Sesshoumaru stood there watching her float away on her feather, cursing the name of Naraku for taking her so soon. But it will be worth it all in the end, and then he could be happy.

He returned to camp seeing Inuyasha sitting on a tree branch above the camp, he sat down beside Rin and looked out at the landscape. He was in no mood to sleep, he was not tired like the human companions where. While everyone slept soundly together Inuyasha watched over them, making sure no one was attacked in and outside of there dreams.

All night the youkai changed every 2 hours to make sure everyone got there much needed rest, even thought Sesshoumaru didn’t sleep much, he still got some shut-eye. Ayame and Kouga slept lying against each other while they had there senses still trained on the outside world, so they would not get attacked while they slept. Kagome laid with Shippou tucked under her arm, keeping him warm and comfortable. Rin was curled up in an extra sleeping bag that Kagome would normally bring Inuyasha, but he would never use it, it was only a force of habit for her. Much to Inuyashas amazement Sango and Miroku were sleeping side by side in there own sleeping bags…but still very close then they normally are. Not to long ago Miroku asked for Sangos hand in marriage which she said yes to, but he did not expect them to be so close even with out his lecherous way. That’s why they wanted to battle so hard, was to avenge there families and to live happily ever after.

In a few days Inuyashas ‘time of the month’ would approach, much to his disappointment. He would like to hurry up, but his human companions where weaker then the youkai/hanyous. He wanted nothing more then to slice Naraku in half, so he wouldn’t have to worry about ‘those’ times.

When morning came the travelers where up and eating breakfast of fish, and food from Sesshoumarus castle. The children where playing a fun game of tag, but still keeping close to the camp.
The grownups started getting everything ready for the next departure, while the children were playing.
When they all got there stuff put away, they started heading out towards the Northern area. (A/N: I’m not sure where Narakus castle is so could someone plz tell me?). The children rode on Ah and Uh during the venture, so they could keep close to the bigger youkai encase of an early attack from Naraku. It took them 5 hours to get with-in eye distance of Narakus castle, they stopped and set up for the battle that lay ahead. They felt a presents ahead and looked up only to see Naraku looking at them smiling “hello, welcome to my territory….I hope u enjoyed the sites, because now you die!” Screamed Naraku as he swept his hand and out flung thousands of youkai towards the travelers, howling and screeching for blood.

Yes u are right, but in my fan fiction he ‘looks’ 22 just didn’t put it down like I did the others. But u have to remember that he is a HALF-demon so he would age slower then Sesshoumaru or any other demon for that matter. So he would be really old like u said 60, but I’m just putting him looking 22 normally. Thank you very much for your comment thought, it was enlightening. Oh and I did not see the 3rd movie yet, but I am hoping too.
