Unveiling Life
Chapter 3

“Inuyasha, this is a bad idea, that’s not a jewel shard, and I’m in no shape to find out whatever is the source right now anyway.”
“It’s just some flowers, a stupid kid, and an… arrow.” Inuyasha huffed.
“No, I don’t think so. It looks like one of Kikyo’s arrows that sealed him there, but why would she attack a boy obviously grieving for an ancestor that had died or been buried here?”
“ I just want to know why that arrow looks and glows like it has been made out of part of the Shikon no tama.”
The sight laid before them was a pity. A young boy knelling down before a tree with flowers, that had ceased to stop growing, in his hands – the tears still frozen on his cheeks, and his hands looked badly damaged from what looks to have been from carving an image in the tree. In fact, the knife still lay beside him, but the arrow glowed brightest of all, like a jewel shard, but dimmer, and for all to see.
“Kagome, do you see this image? Look, it looks like someone familiar, but I just can’t place it.”
“You’re right, this looks like... SANGO!”
Suddenly they were interrupted, shockingly, by the cold, shaking, saddened voice of Sango.
“Get away from here. What is your business with my family? Why are you here, what do you want?!”
“Your family? Sango, we didn’t know, is this your brother, I’m so sorry… what happen…” Kagome was cut off once again.
“STOP! Just leave! I don’t have to explain myself to you! WHAT IS THIS PROVING??!!!!”
Inuyasha had already scooped up Kagome by the time she finished her second sentence, and they were gone.
Sango silently plucked a rose from the vines coming from the boys hands, knelt down, and began to weep. She couldn’t stand the thought of herself and the others knowing the truth about what had happened to her brother, let alone what she had done to him, for him.
“Inuyasha, stop, where are you taking me?!” Kagome pleaded.
“Don’t be so damn nosy, it’s not like I’m going to hurt you or put you in danger or anything, I like you too much to do that, so what are you worrying about?”
That should shut her up for a while, at least until we get to the spot.
What is he talking about?! “I just don’t want to go too far out that the others will start to worry, besides, it’s my night to make dinner! Wait… did you just say that you wouldn’t let anything happen to me?”
“ Will you just shut your trap! We’re almost there. Geez, you’re impatient. Besides, the others can starve for all I care, you don’t have to slave for them. And that wasn’t the point; we’ll be there for aple ple of days.”
“WHAT?!!! A couple of days?!! Don’t you think we should have told someone or brought supplies, or have at least waited until we are healed! Are you crazy?! What’s wrong with you Inuyasha?!”
“GET OFF my back! LITERALLY! Get of NOW!”
He stopped abruptly and almost dumped her to the ground from the tree they were on, but caught her last second.
“Do you see that?! I’m mad as hell with you because you are irritating the hell out of me, and if you were anyone else I’d drop you in a second flat, but because I like you I didn’t, I caught you before you fell no matter what the circumstances, now doesn’t that mean anything to you, or should I just take you back to the stupid camp so you can hate me forever?!”
He panted and huffed after the little explosion he had on Kagome, unveiling his love for her the only he he knew how, in a screaming fit.
“Inuyasha, all I wan to know are your intentions… with me, with us, with where ever you plan to go with your life from here on out, that’s all.”
Kagome had tears in her eyes from the emotional roller coaster she had been put on in the last hour.
Inuyasha put his arms around her, and held her tight, and with the only answer he could think of he left a million questions remaining, but satisfied the needs of Kagome. The most important question answered.
“My intentions are to hold you until I’m forced to let go.”
