Mail-Order Bride chapter 2
---------------------------------

Storming into her apartment with her friend trailing behind her, Kagome huffed and plopped on her couch. All her life she worked hard to get where she was now. She had everything in order to transfer out of the country and attend the University of San Francisco but she has to be a US citizen first. (AN: I know that is not the case. Let’s say she doesn’t know what else to do. The reason I am putting this AN here because knowing people they really don’t read the AN’s before stories.)

Kagome went through medical school, so she could help out others like her father once did. Even though she lived in a shrine with her family and trained to be a miko all of her life, she will wanted to purse this career. She felt obligated to do this for her father, because he died trying to help people out. Higurashi Yukio was her father, being a firefighter; you can probably imagine how he died. Kagome wanted to help out, but in a different way; so, she became a pediatrician.

Kagome studied hard and is now in the situation before her.

Sango Xavier strolled over and sank into the couch next to her best friend. Sango is half-Japanese and half-French, as is her younger brother Kohaku. Her full blooded Japanese mother, Takashi Yukina, went on vacation to Paris, France and there she met the children’s’ father, a French man named Quinn Xavier. They hit it off real nicely, but when the night came for Yukina to leave, she realized that she fell in love with this man in the short time she met him. That night they spent their first night together as a couple to say good-bye to one another. Two months later, Yukina found out she was pregnant. Quinn was there as best as he could for Yukina and his new baby, Sango, after she was born

The couple finally married when Quinn was able to transfer to in Japan. On their second anniversary, Sango was four, Yukina was pregnant again with their second child, Kohaku. But shortly after his birth, Yukina died of heart failure. She died holding her son for the first and last time that day. Quinn didn’t know much of the Japanese culture, so he did the best thing for his children; he left them with one of their family friends, the Higurashis’, and he moved back to France. He came in and out of his children’s’ life teaching then about the French culture so they knew both heritages. Kagome and Sango grew up together like sisters and the same went for their brothers, Souta and Kohaku. Sango started taking karate and kendo lessons to let her anger out caused by her father who keeps leaving her life. Sango and Kohaku were officially adopted by the Higurashis’ when Sango was ten and Kohaku was six. They treated the Higurashis’ as their only family all Quinn was to them was a birth father.

Kagome and Sango are still ‘sisters’ till this day sharing things, such as their apartment . Sango was planning to leave in less than 3 months to open her new Dojo in San Francisco. Unlike Kagome, Sango already has a green card . She wanted to up a dojo there, so she and Kagome could still be by one another. Sango also just finished getting her bachelors in Business Management to open the dojo. (AN: Too much explaining. There will be more later on in the chapters because there will be a lot of flashbacks.)

“Come on Kagome, it won’t be that bad to get married,” Sango said to ease the situation.

“Yeah right! Get married to a total stranger?” Kagome practically shouted at Sango.

“Well it won’t be that bad. At least you will have someone to marry.”

“Sango, I don’t even have a boyfriend or someone to love,” Kagome said.

“What about your ex-boyfriend, Houjou? He moved to the US; maybe you can give him a call,” stated Sango matter of factly.

“No! I don’t want to go even near that man even if I were dead! He was such a…” Kagome stopped.

“Homosexual?” Sango finished. “I know you're upset he cheated on you with another man, but don’t feel like you made him gay. It isn’t your fault. He wanted to be with men and that is the way he is.”

Kagome sighed. “You’re right. I have nothing against him, but he really hurt me by cheating.”

Sango placed a comforting arm around her friend. “Don’t worry everything will work out. All you have to do is hope and it will turn out okay,” she said with a confronting smile for her friend.

Kagome sighed and stood out of her friend’s hold. “I hope so, but right now I just want to be alone to think things over.”

“Okay,” Sango said frowning trying to understand.

Kagome quietly left the living room and down the hall to her room. All that was heard was the soft click indicating that Kagome shut her door.

Sango looked worried as she watched her friend leave. ‘I wish I could so something to help her,’ she thought as an idea came to her. ‘Maybe…’ She hurried to her room to turn on her computer. ‘I can sign Kagome on a mail by bride site. I know she won’t be happy, but I am doing this for her.’ Sango went to a search engine on the internet for sites; the top one that came up on the list was Mailorderbride.com, and she clicked on the link. “Hmm… seems interesting. It says here ‘Successful in putting people together.’ I bet this will work.” She clicked the link where to sign up. Once she did, there was information to fill in about the woman who is going to be mail-ordered. “Hmm… since Kagome is the one to be mail-ordered one, I better put in the information about her.” Sango began to type.
Name: Kagome Higurashi “Better put it the American way.”

Age: 24

Birth date: January 21, 1981

¬Reason for marriage: Hoping to Obtain a U.S. Citizenship to go and finish med-school in San Francisco and to be a doctor.

“I hope that is all. I also have to put a picture as well,” Sango said. “The last thing to do is put a number down to get a hold of. I will just put down my cell number so I can act as Kagome.” She typed in the number and finished by pressing the ‘enter’ key. “I guess that is all.”

---------------------

Sango returned home to their apartment and received a dozen phone calls regarding Kagome and none sounded like they were good enough or even lived in San Francisco. The closest was in Colorado, but she still want the best for Kagome. All of a sudden her cell phone rang.

“Moshi, Moshi!” she answered cheerfully.

“Um… Hello… I am… looking for… Higarashi Kagome,” the voice said in the best Japanese he could. “I am… calling… about the Mailorderbride.com.”

Sango knew that the person didn’t speak Japanese that well “Why don’t I speak in English? Yes, this is Higarashi Kagome,” she lied knowing this is another guy interested in a bride.

“Great, my Japanese is rusty,” he said.

“It’s okay and this is?” she asked.

“I’m Inuyasha Anderson and I am interested with you becoming my wife,” he said. “I wanted to say you have a face of a goddess and the rack of a… never mind. I am calling to make your dreams come true and have you bare me my children.”

Moment of silence

‘Man this guy is a nut!’ she thought. “Um… Great. Where are you calling from?”

“San Francisco, the place where you want to attend the university.”

‘This is so great! Someone finally calling from San Francisco. He maybe weird but he has a sexy voice so maybe he is sexy swell,’ she thought. “SANGO!” called Kagome. “Great. Can you please hold on for a sec?”

“Uh, Sure.”

Kagome walked in and saw Sango on her cell phone. “Sango what are you doing?” Kagome asked.

Sango covered the mouth piece at the end of her cell phone. “Oh nothing, just talking to a guy…” she lied. She then uncovered her hand and talked into the phone. “Hello? Inuyasha? I have to go.”

“Okay. Will you be able to come to S.F. anytime soon?”

“Oh, yes! Of course!” Sango said trying to hush up Kagome.

“So you will come to see us… I mean me?”

“Yes, yes!”

“Okay, I will book the flight for next weekend, so you can pack or get things straightened out so you could move in with me. I will call you and send everything through the mail.”

“Okay. I was wondering if you can buy two tickets because my friend wants to come.” Kagome eyed Sango confusingly.

“Sure.”

“Oh! I am so excited for Kagome!” Kagome really got confused at her friend.

“Uhh… Aren’t you Kagome?”

“Yes, but sometimes I speak in third person.”

“Oh, okay. Well, good-bye beautiful. I cannot wait to meet you and have you bear me my children.”

“Uh, yes. Good-bye!” Sango hung up.

“So who was that?” Kagome asked crossing her arms in front of her chest.

“Umm… a friend?” Sango looked innocently at Kagome.

“Liar. I know you can’t lie to me; so fess up.” Kagome gave Sango the ‘look’.

“Well...I-know-you-are-desprite-so-I-signed-you-up-on-Mailorderbride.com-so-you-can-find-a-husband,” Sango said quickly and took a breath.

“What?!” Kagome shouted at Sango.

“And-many-guys-called-that-was-no-way-near-close-to-San-Francisco-expect-the-one-I-just-talked-to,” Sango said quickly again. “And-I-said-we-would-meet-him.”

“You did what?!” Kagome eyes bugged out. (AN: Wow miles apart and they had the same expressions.)

“I was thinking of you so you can’t think it was selfish of me,” Sango said defensively.

“But you could at least tell me!”

“I know, but he sounded like he has a sexy voice and knowing my luck with finding men or vice-versa, he will be drop-dead gorgeous.” Sango smiled broadly to her angry friend. “Come on it won’t hurt to meet him.” Sango left out the moving in part, because she wanted her friend to meet him first.

Kagome sighed defeatly. “When do I have to go?”

“He said he will book flights for next weekend,” she answered back. “I know you have your summer off and then you can go in person to the university yourself to give your credits.”

“Yeah.” Kagome sighed again. She felt her sister place an arm around her shoulders and place her head against hers.

“Remember, we are in this together. And if it doesn’t work out, you have a place to stay in S.F.” Sango said to lighten the mood up a bit and started to laugh.

“Yeah!” Kagome started to laugh as well. “When are you going to start heading your things out there?”
“Mom said she would pack everything away for me when I was going to check out the place in two weeks but I guess I am leaving early with you.” Sango smiled.

Kagome stood up. “Let’s start packing yours stuff and my suitcase to go.”

Sango stood up and linked her arm with Kagome’s, and they both headed towards their rooms.

-A week later-

After getting the tickets in the mail on rush order in 5days, the girls were on the plane headed towards San Francisco, settling the arrangements of packing; their mother along with Souta and Kohaku will pack Sango’s belongings along with Kagome’s (she doesn’t know.)

Kagome looked out her window next to her seat. She was getting nervous; she was going to meet the man who will soon be her husband. She also couldn’t believe that this man paid for two first class tickets. She realized that her husband-to-be was rich and hopefully Sango was right about him being cute.

“Everybody, this is your captain speaking; please buckle your seatbelts. We will be arriving in San Francisco shortly.”

Sango turned to Kagome. “Relax, he and his friend are going to pick us up.”

“But Sango… How will we know what he looks like?” Kagome asked getting more nervous than she already was.

“All we have to do is ask the people who they are and if it’s him,” Sango explained.

“Easier said than done,” muttered Kagome.

The plane finally landed and the girls easily got off the plane with the only bags they had with them on the plane. They got off and headed towards the terminal and started to look for the expecting husband-to-be.

“Kagome, start asking people if they are ‘Inuyasha Anderson’.”

“Okay.” Kagome and Sango began asking random people but unknown to them two men were coming towards them.

“Excuse me. Are you Inuyasha Anderson?” Kagome asked a tall-lean white man in English.

“No, I am sorry,” he said back.

Kagome sighed. “YOU DID WHAT?!” She heard from behind her. She wanted to look but ignored it instead.

“Any luck?” Sango asked in their native tongue.

“No, how many did you asked?” Kagome questioned Sango.

“Only four. You?”

“One, but I only asked only one because I was so nervous.” Kagome sighed.

Sango smiled at her. “It’s okay.”

“Excuse me ladies?” They turned and eyed the two men before them.

“I’m Miroku Costa and my fiery friend here is Inuyasha Anderson, your future husband, Kagome,” he said in English while smiling sweetly to them.

The girls just couldn’t believe that is the man who is suppose to marry Kagome.
