In Heat

The next morning Kagome awoke to the bright sun shining down on her, she opened her eyes and growled lightly as the brightness of the rays stung her eyes. She arose to her feet and dusted off her clothing she was rather freaked at seeing Sesshoumaru laying beside her feet sleeping. She felt rather frightened and slowly inched away once she was far enough she took off sprinting rather quickly through the trees.

Sesshoumaru woke up at hearing the sounds of feet pattering quickly against the forest ground. He quickly got up and looked down the path of the forest and saw the trail of dust barely setting, he grabbed his swords and went walking down to the lake where he met up with Jaken and a beautiful teenage Rin. He sat down near the water and stared at it remembering the night before. Rin and Jaken stared at Sesshoumaru and saw he wasn’t his normal irritable self, Rin’s eyes saddened once she figured out what went on with Sesshoumaru the nighforefore. She moved over to him and sat down; she stared at him but said nothing since she was afraid he would snap at her if she disturbed him.

“Mi Lord what happened? Where were you?” Jaken asked as he approached Sesshoumaru with caution. Sesshoumaru snarled at the sound of Jaken’s voice and threw a rock at him, Jaken quickly ducked and moved away cowardly and decided to stay quiet.

Kagome ran toward a small village and stopped at the top of a small hill looking down at the people who were working and the children playing. She grabbed her black cloak and put it on over her wolf ears and shadowing her demon scars and golden eyes. She tied it tightly around herself to make sure it didn’t fall, she made her way into the village with her head lowered as she heard the whispering of the village people as she passed.

As she began to walk a quick snapping noise caught her attention, she quickly turned and looked toward the trees and saw nothing so she continued to walk she came upon a young boy around the age of fifteen who was standing before her with a pale aterater in his hands.

She stared at him from underneath her cloak and smiled lightly “May I have some water?” she asked softly. The boy nodded lightly and held the pale up to her, she took it and cupped water into her hand and sipped it lightly. The boy stayed staring as he saw the claws on her hands, he backed away slowly from her, she tilted her head lightly as she stared at him. The boy turned and ran off into one of the houses. She sighed lightly kept walking until she came to the exit of the village she turned around and looked toward the people and went on her way.

As she reached the forest again she walked along it and once again she heard the snapping noise but this time it echoed throughout the forest. She walked to a tree and grabbed her bow and arrows she put one in placed and once the snapping noise was rightind ind her she turned and fired the arrow. She gasped as she noticed it was the wolf demon she had met when she was with Inuyasha. She walked over to Kouga who was now pinned on the tree by his fur tail.

He stared at her and growled “Why did you do that?!” he yelled as he began to pull out the arrow from his tail “Because you scared me that’s why!” she yellack ack at him while grabbing another arrow. He arched an eyebrow at her voice “Kagome?” he said while yanking out the arrow and making his way over to her. She quickly moved back from him with her bow and arrow lowered. “What happened to you?” he asked while moving even closer, when she didn’t answer he lifted his head and sniffed the air around them. “You’re not yourself ... you smell like Ayame… well in the breed type of way. You don’t seem human like onceonce did…” Kagome had heard too much. She shot one more arrow pinning Kouga in the same spot, he growled as more pain came to his tail, he looked up and saw that Kagome was gone.
