A New Scheme

    The next day Katelyn and Naraku visted with her mother now that she is getting used to the idea of them together thanks to her husband. Mr. Higarashi went off to work as usually leaving them alone. "So, Naraku tell me more about yourself?" she asked.

   Naraku wasn't quite sure how to answer her question. What was there to tell anyway?

   "Mrs. Higarashi there isn't much to say I am nothing special I've had my ups and downs growing up. Your daughter has helped me pull through it. She is helping me achieve a life time goal I had set for myself."

   Mrs. Higarashi raised an eyebrow to that statement. She looked over at her daughter for some hidden meaning within that. However, her daughter just shrugged telling her its none of her business which only made her more curious. "Just what is this goal of yours if you don't mind me asking Naraku?"

  Katelyn glanced over at Naraku, the conversation they had last night came back to her. "Katelyn who runs this country?"

  "The President. Why?" "Where can I find him?" "D.C"

 He wasn't serious was he?

  "Im afraid Mrs. Higarashi that is a personal matter that i do not wish to discuss."

  "I see."

  "Mrs. Higarashi about that pendent you gave your daughter....?"

  "Yes? What about it?"

  "Where did it come from?"

  "It came from England, or was it France? Oh heck I don't remember it came with one of my ancestors on their journey to America in the 1600s."

   "I see and you don't know which country it came from?"

  "No not really. Why do you want to know so badly?"

  "I noticed there is something special about it other then being just a family heriloom."

   The doorbell rang. "I'll get it." Katelyn said as she left the kitchen leaving Naraku to continue talking to her mother.

   She looked through the peephole seeing who it was. The door opened. "Michael what a surpise to see you again how can I help you?"

  "Isn't it? You know Katie I want to apolgize for my actions all of them. I want to tell you that I'm a changed man."

  "Good for you Mike I'm sure you can make some girl really happy."

   "There's only one girl I want to make happy." He purred.

   "Um....Mike there's something you should know?"

   "Don't worry babe I know you're with that guy only to make me jealous. How nice, well don't worry I'll handle everything." he said with smile.

    Katelyn bit her lip as she ran her hand over her mark hoping Naraku would feel her anxiety.  Just then Mike's lips touched hers she wanted to punch him, but somehow her resolve melted away. All of a sudden Michael was on the gound getting the shit kicked out of him by Naraku.

  "Katelyn are you alright?" Her mother asked concerned.

  "Um... I'm fine. Naraku thats enough."

  Naraku let go of Michael giving him a hard glare. "Michael I think its best that you leave and don't come back." She said to him.

  Michael got up carefully. "One day Kate you'll come to your senses and come back to me."

  "Over my dead body I'd ever go back to you!" She called out.

  "So what are your plans for today you two?"

  "Oh Katelyn is going to show me around I've never been to the states before." Naraku said.

 Naraku got up to prepare himself for what he had planned leaving Katelyn alone with her mother. "Kate what exactly is Naraku?"

  "What do you mean?"

  "I don't know there's something about him thats a little unsettling."

  "I assure you mother that their is nothing wrong with Naraku. Its not like he's some kind of demon in human form." She said with a laugh.

   "That doesn't sound reassuring dear."

  "Look mom Im happy with my life alriight nothing bad is going to happen to me  or your grandchild."

  Katelyn headed off to get Naraku when she heard her mother talking to someone.

  "What a surprise to see you again its been a long time. Look how you've grown, what brings you to New York?"

  "Is Katelyn here?" Kagome asked.

  "Yes she is. Katie your cousin is here to see you!" her mother called out to her.

  Katelyn let out a sigh as she walked back down the hall to greet her annoying cousin. "What brings you here Kagome?"

  "I came to talk to you."

   "Uh huh where's that boyfriend of yours?"

   "He couldn't make it."

  Katelyn didn't buy that for an instant, but let it go for now. "Katelyn about you and Naraku its a mistake."

  This concerned her mother there was something going on that niether girl was telling her. "Why do you think its a mistake Kagome?" Katelyn asked.

  "Because he's dangerous!"

    This really concerned Mrs. Higarashi. How is he dangerous? Is he secretly a serial killer? Is her daughter his next victim?

   Just then there was a loud crash coming from Katelyns room. "You bitch!" Katelyn yelled at her cousin as she ran down the hall to her room.
