A Fine Mess

It didn’t matter that Sesshoumaru was outnumbered or that some hostages were killed in the process of ‘saving his people’. Casualties were expected. Chise had underestimated the Inus believing Sesshoumaru to be soft enough to have held back his wrath for the sake of the innocent.

When the battle was done there was blood and gore everywhere. His own people were shaking in fear of him as Sesshoumaru finally transformed back into his humanoid form.

“Stop your whimpering fools.”

Sesshoumaru ground out as he looked at his people who dared to be surprised by his actions. They all knew better than to get in his way and yet they still defied his orders by allowing themselves to be captured by cats. The morons deserved what they got. It was not if Father had not taught his people to fight back. Had they grown so soft over the years under Mother’s rule?

“Where is my Mother?”

Sesshoumaru ground out. Soon however, a young female Inu steps forward to speak to her lord since someone must do so. It was one of the Ladies maids that had been mated to one of the cats.

“My Lord, the cats took our beloved Queen Luna to their lair after they collared her. A cat demon named Lord Fusao claimed he was taking her as his mate.”

The 68 Inu demons left out of the 250 that had once graced the castle stood looking down in shame.

“We will find her my Lord…….”

Sesshoumaru scoffed at that comment from one of his guards.

“Do not give me such false promises. I will find her myself.”

With that said, he teleported himself in the direction of the cat’s lair leaving the servants and guards that were left to clean up the mess.

Togaou frowned at the barrier as he tried to find any weakness. So far there was none.

“Are you certain we cannot dig our way out?”

Luna stated with a huff.

Togaou looked at the space. There was no room for him to change forms and Luna would have the same problem.

“In true form we are too big and in this form it would take us too long. We can only hope that Sesshoumaru finds out where we are and perhaps can find a way to dispel the barrier for us although I am not giving up by any means.”

Luna sat down in the furs feeling useless and hated the smell in the place. It reeked of cat and the smell burned her sensitive nose. Togaou seemed unaffected by such things, but Luna knew that he too was suffering the stench he was just too proud to admit it bothered him.

“Well we cannot sit here and do nothing.”

Togaou frowned and sat next to his wife throwing a rock at the barrier.

“What do you suggest we do then? If we use our acid the fumes will eventually suffocate us. We can dig, but then eventually our claws will be destroyed along with our hands. We must be patient dear. I will continue searching for a weakness until I find it. I fear that without my swords we are in a rather precarious position for now.”

Picking up the broken Meidou Seki Stone, Luna sighs looking at her once treasured possession. It was like all the old promises Togaou gave her, broken only to be discarded later on.

“You are still angry with me.”

Luna sat back further closing her eyes as Togaou took her hand in his own.

“I am too damn tired to be angry with you anymore Togaou and we haven’t the energy to waste on the past anymore. I am sure I can bring it up later when you are deserving of a reprimand. Right now I am too damn tired to hate you.”

Togaou nuzzled his wife.

“I still love you Luna.”

Luna just nodded trying not to cry again. There was no point in denying that he held her heart. Togaou was once the sunshine to her moon with his rays of silver and gold. In many ways he was still the sun only she now knew he could also burn her if she got too close.

“And I you husband even if you do not deserve it.”

Togaou put his arm around his wife and prayed hoping Sesshoumaru would find them soon.

“I promise you I will find a way to get us free. I swear it on my life.”

Luna nodded knowing Togaou well enough when he made such a vow he meant it even though the prospect of their escape seemed impossible right now.

Inuyasha had finished cleaning rooms, had cooked enough to feed three, and washed up hoping that Sesshoumaru would return soon. It seemed however that his brother was taking longer than planned so he just ate Sesshoumaru’s portions figuring it served the asshole right for being late to dinner.

“Inuyasha, I am tired, but I am afraid to go to bed by myself.”

Inuyasha looked at Shippo and frowned.

“So what do you want me to do about it?”

Shippo crawled into Inuyasha’s lap.

“Can I sleep here with you?”

Inuyasha shrugged and Shippo took that as a yes. He was so used to cuddling up with Kirara or Kagome that it was too strange to be on his own without someone to care for him.

“Just don’t make this a habit kid.”

Inuyasha wondered how long Sesshoumaru was going to take. I mean how could it take this fucking long to pick up a few measly servants? Sesshoumaru said that his Mother’s castle wasn’t that far from this one so what the fuck was he doing?

There was one thing Inuyasha was sure of, he was going to give Sesshoumaru hell for leaving him behind again if he was just going to fuck around all night long. Damn bastard was probably making more bastards along the way the slut.

Sure Sesshoumaru wanted loyalty from his mate, but the jerk could just do what he wanted? I don’t think so! Man was Sesshoumaru going to get it when he got back.
