His Past, Her Death

A/N: I swear, I’m only writing this to get it out of my system. If I don’t write something with blood in it, I’m going to go nuts. Just to warm you, this gets really gruesome. So those with a weak stomach, you have been warn.

Chapter two: His past, her death

Sesshomaru sat on the couch inside of Kagome's house. She told him he was allowed to stay for one night, but after that, he was to go home and never return again. He let a small smile appear on his lips as he remembered the fight they had over that. She continued to scream at him about staying out, and then he twisted her poor heart by telling her that he had no were else to stay and if she kicked him out, he would be forced to stay outside in the cold. He knew it was low, but he couldn’t help it. After all, this simple human girl intrigued him. There was no way some normal human could summon him.

The demon remembered that he was sitting at his desk, going over paperwork after paperwork. He had papers coming in from all across the land, telling him of the chaos that was happening. Apparently the hanyou Naraku had disappeared from his cell and the whole nation was panicking. After all, it took his father a century to put him in that cell. That was when he felt a tug at his being. And before he knew it, he was standing in the Miko’s living room. He was sure it was imposable for him to be summoned to the human realm, but apparently he was mistaken. This one girl seemed to summon him with the intention of not even wanting to summon anything. He was positive that Kagome was no ordinary girl, and he planed on finding out who and what she really was.

**
Kagome sat in the bath, letting the hot water soak away all her problems. She was tired of being mad, she was tired of company and wanted nothing more then just to soak in nice hot, relaxing water.

Kagome sighed as she recalled about two hours ago. She had to pretty much push Eri and Ayumi out of the door. The two wanted to stay and get to know Sesshomaru a bit more. Kagome was just not going to have any of that. Sango wanted to stay because she didn’t trust the demon at all. Instead of arguing with her though, Sango said she needed to go home and find out what kind of demon he was and talk to her grandfather about it as well. The girl chuckled at remembering how Sango used to complain about her ‘crazy’ grandfather and his stories of how he used to slay demons in his time. Kagome would always remind Sango about her grandpa who used to stay there was an ancient history to everything. Even the food that they ate.

A content sigh escaped her lips once more as she sunk farther into the tub. Besides the demon that was sitting in her living room at the moment, life seemed grand. That was till her cell phone rang right next to her. With a groan, she answered it.

“Hello?” She muttered, sounding unhappy.

“Hey Kagome,” Sango’s voice echoed though the phone. “Sorry for interrupting whatever your doing, but I have some information that you need to know.”

“Cant it wait till tomorrow?” Groaned the raven haired teen.

“No, its about Sesshomaru.”

Groaning again, Kagome slouched some more in the tube. “Here, let me get out of the tube, get dressed, and I’ll meet you at the cafe down the street from my house. That way I’m not talking to the phone but you.”

There was silence for a moment. “Alright, I’ll meet you there.”

Kagome hung up her phone and tried not to whimper. “There goes my quiet evening...”

**

Honestly, Kagome swore that her voice was going to give out by the end of the night. She had another screaming match with Sesshomaru before she left. Well, it was more she was screaming at him and he seemed indifferent. Kagome wanted to go alone to the cafe, he wanted to go with her. In the end, Sesshomaru finally agreed to stay at the house if she just stopped yelling at him. She was sure he was scared that his ears were going to start bleeding. And honestly, Kagome couldn’t care less.

She now found herself sitting in the small cafe, a cup of cappuccino in front of her as she waited for Sango to show up. A small band played near the front, keeping the atmosphere soft and comfortable. she liked this place a lot. Even when she needed to think about things. Her friend Yumi had been missing for a week, and her parents had gone missing themselves. Even though they came up with the weirdest idea’s, Ayumi, Eri, and Yumi had been her friends sense grade school. So for once of them to be missing for a while, it scared her. She was sure that Ayumi and Eri’s idea for summoning some demon was to help find Yumi.

“Sorry I’m late!” Sango called running over to her table.

Kagome smiled and sipped at her drink. “So what’s so important that you couldn’t wait till tomorrow at school?”

Sango sat down and shuffled though her purse. “I found some pretty solid information about Sesshomaru.”

Kagome sipped her drink once more. “Like?”

Sango pulled out some papers and placed it in front of the girl. “You see, there’s an old legend that my grandfather always told me about. Apparently humans and demons used to live in harmony with each other. But it was an absolute taboo for the two to create offspring. If a demon and a human happened to have a child, the two where punished and the child was killed at birth. Normally if something like this happened, one could find out easily. The mother always died during child birth.”

Kagome gave a small nod as she looked at all the old documents as well.

“Well, apparently, a very powerful demon, Inutaisho, decided to mate and wed a hime. Because of his actions, the whole two races began a war. Trying to protect the pregnant hime, Inutaisho was killed in the battle and the two races desided that they could no longer coexist together. The demons created a different realm to live separately from the humans.”

Kagome looked up. “But what about the hime?”

Sango shrugged. “No one knows. They believe that she died when Inutaisho died. But see, Inutaisho had one son before he mated the hime. And that was Sesshomaru. When his father died, he took the position as lord of the west in the realm of demons.”

“How do you know all this?” She asked her friend.

Sango pulled out another document and handed it over to Kagome. “See, my family used to be a bunch of demon slayers. Evil people used to summon demons to do their evil work. We used to have to hunt the demon and kill them before they could kill more people. My grandfather finally sealed the passage between their realm and ours. That’s why I didn’t know anything about it. apparently your powerful enough to actually summon one and break though that seal. Though it amazing that you can summon someone and powerful as Sesshomaru.”

Kagome groaned and rubbed her temples. “How can we send him back?”

The older girl bit her lip. “See, that I don’t know. There’s a temple on the other side of town. I was hoping we both should go there tomorrow and see if they have any more information. My family killed the demon, never sent them back. So maybe they know.”

Kagome gave Sango a look. “You are aware that Miroku lives at that temple right?”

Sango shivered for a moment. “I know... that’s why I want you to go with me. Maybe we should even bring Sesshomaru. That way we wont seem that insane.”

Kagome chuckled at her friend’s actions. “Sure. Lets bring the big bad demon to their door steps and say to them ‘Can you put this guy back? We kind of messed up.’” She giggled at her own words.

Sango pouted slightly. “You know I cant stand Miroku any more then you can stand Sesshomaru.”

“At least Sesshomaru doesn’t grope every woman that walks his way.”

“You don’t know that Kagome. He’s only been in your house for three hours. “

The girl sighed. “I know. Anyway, I better get back home soon. I wanna make sure my house is still there when I get back.”

Sango chuckled. “Of course. I’ll see you tomorrow?”

Kagome nodded and stood. “Of course. Oh! Sango, did you hear anything about Yumi yet?”

The older woman shook her head. “Not yet. I’m sure she’ll show up soon Kagome. Don’t give up hope just yet.”

She sighed softly and took her bag, slinging it over her should. “I hope your right Sango.” She said softly before leaving the cafe.

**

Kagome huffed as she walked up the stairs to the shrine. “Why... do... these... steps... have...to...be... so long!” She gasped as she finally reached the top. On other days she didn’t mind walking up those stairs. But today they seemed so long. On top of that she was in a hurry. She really did want to make sure that her house was still in tact.

She groaned as she noticed that one of the small shrine houses where open, the door flapping in the wind. “God damn it!” Kagome cried, throwing her bag on the ground. I’m going to kill that demon if I find out that he went into the small shrines!” She stormed over, hearing thunder echo in the clouds. “Figures.” she muttered, There was a couple of drops before the rain started to pour down on top of her head, causing Kagome to run to the small shrine.

“Sesshomaru!” She called in the small space. “If your here, tell me now.” Her voice went from strong, to shaking. There was pungent smell that was starting to make her nauseous and a horrible feeling was going though her whole body.

“This isn’t funny anymore Sesshomaru.” Her voice was breaking from fear. Kagome could see the outline of someone in the far wall. “Is that you?” She took a step forward. And when she needed it, a flash of lighting struck, showing the whole room for her.

Her eyes went wide at the scene before her. A naked body sat in front of her, the neck headless. A breast was cut from the body, dried blood coming from it. Nailed Above the body was what looked to be the body’s intestines. In the open stomach was the head, the eyes cut out and in the hands of the body. Stuffed in the eyes and mouth were insects, feasting on the flesh.

Eyes wide, stomach heaving, Kagome let out a blood curling scream at the scene when her eyes fell on the student ID card right above the severed neck with the words ‘I will find you.’ above the ID, written in blood.

She screamed over and over again, shock finally ridding her body. Instantly arms wrapped around her, causing Kagome to start thrashing, trying to get away from who grabbed her.

“Its me!” Sesshomaru shouted, trying to calm her down. “Miko! Calm down its me!”

Kagome looked up at Sesshomaru, hot tears running down her face. Her face was a dead pale and her vision swarmed. She had finally found her friend Yumi, and Yumi was in pieces behind her. Her vision swarmed once more and Kagome finally collapsed, her world going black.
