InuYasha to the rescue
Chapter 2
InuYasha to the rescue
InuYasha hurried back along the road they used to get up the mountain. That was hard enough because the snowstorm had vanished most of they’re tracks. He had to find Kagome. All day long since they traveled up the mountain she had been complaining about how cold she was. He had been worried about her, but he couldn’t afford to be soft on her. At least that’s what he thought. But now his stubbornness could have killed her.
All of a sudden he saw an unnatural hump in the snow. He dug some snow away, and there he saw something. Some black hair came through the snow, that must be Kagome. He hurried and dug as fast as he could. There she was, her face and lips were pale blue and her body had stiffened. She was breathing faintly and her heartbeat was very low.
“Kagome” He whispered “Kagome wake up, snap out of it.” But she didn’t move.
*I have to get her somewhere warm and safe, out of the storm, and quick* InuYasha thought looking very worried at the girl he held in his arms.
He tried to think of how could get her warm. She needed a shelter and fast. All of a sudden he thought of something. On his way to find her he had caught a smell. He couldn’t describe it for it wasn’t a human, Youkai, or animal, but it had a dry and somewhat warm sent. That must have been a cave or hut. He wrapped the unconsciously girl in his kimono. Now he had to hurry to that shelter, where was it?
Almost invisible to the eye and close to the mountain, a little hut appeared. InuYasha jumped to the door and tried to open it. The door didn’t move and inch. “Keh, it must have been frozen shut” InuYasha cursed. He knew he didn’t have time to look for another place. Kagome needed warmth and there was no time to waste. He pushed with all the force he could, with Kagome in his robe, against the door. Finally it gave in and InuYasha stumbled through the door opening. Carefully he laid Kagome to the ground and turned around to close the door. Then he pointed his attention back to Kagome. He had to warm her but how and with what? Sango and Miroku had all their stuff with them.
A trunk stood in the corner of the hut. InuYasha walked over to and opened it. Inside there was one blanket, luckily it was a large and thick one. He walked back to Kagome and laid it over her.
*Kagome should get a little warmer by this blanket* he thought. At least that’s what he hoped.
A little sting got him out of his thinking. It was somewhere in his neck, and he automatically slapped it. Myouga hovered flat and light to the ground.
Back to his normal roundness he turned back to InuYasha.
“What was that for?” Myouga asked still a bit dizzy.
“Myouga-jiji?! You could expect something like that, sneaking up on me like that.” InuYasha snarled.
“I was just getting your attention.”
“Just don’t do that by sucking my blood.” InuYasha said becoming angry at Myouga.
“Keh, anyway it’s good your here, I-i need your help.”
“Hmm, you, InuYasha need my help but a few seconds ago you hit me.” Myouga pondered.
“That was your own fault I already told you. But I need you to look at Kagome we lost her and I found her buried in the snow. She’s unconscious and I don’t know what to do to get her awake.”
Myouga was surprised to see the worry on InuYasha face.
“Come on you have to help me to get her better” InuYasha now almost begged.
“Of course I’ll help you, well to get her better you should get her warm, but you already know that. You just have to know how to do that.”
“Well I put a blanket around her, so…” InuYasha began, but stopped because he didn’t knew what to say else.
“You did well but there is something important you forgot.”
“What did I forgot.” InuYasha asked the flea, now getting really worried about Kagome.
“You have to get her clothes of.” The flea simply answered. “Well that shouldn’t be a problem, should it?”
SLAP!!!
“That hurts you know. Why did you do that? I am only trying to help.” Myouga, now feeling really dizzy, asked InuYasha.
“Is that al you can think of? I thought Miroku was a pervert but I never expected you to be one. You filthy little flea.”
InuYasha was really angry, how dare he, Kagome was dying and all he could think of was to see Kagome naked. Well that was something that wasn’t going to happen, he would personally take care of that.
“I’m not a pervert, I’m really trying to help.” Myouga tried to convince InuYasha.
“Keh, and a great help you are.”
“You have to get her out of her clothes because they’re wet, and wet clothes aren’t that warm you know.” Myouga said, explaining his motives. “Then you wrap her in the blanket again, and try to make a fire going so you can warm her with the heat of it.” He rested a second, and uncertainly followed.
“Then you can use your own body heat to get her on temperature.”
“WHAT? I have to get under that with her?” InuYasha asked Myouga.
“Well if you want to save her life it is an option.” Myouga cautiously replied. “She will die if you don’t get her warm fast.”
InuYasha hesitated, but if it could safe her live he had to try it. Besides he had to do something even if it was something he didn’t want to do. His mind tore him apart. On one hand he wanted to save her life on the other he was to proud to do something like that.
“Myouga-jiji?”
“Hm?”
“You know, the others should know I can’t come after them. Because of Kagome. You followed us here through the snow storm didn’t you?”
“Hai, nande?” (yes, why?)
“...”
“...no you don’t mean...you can’t be serious...you really want me to...” Myouga was now getting a little uncomfortable.
“They really should know, they will think we got hurt or worse and attack that Youkai on their own. They probably won’t survive that, you know that as well as I do.” InuYasha said to the old Myouga. “They really should know we’re alive and that the only thing they need to do is to find a shelter. And that they shouldn’t rush after the Youkai.”
“Oh ok, I will but it’s not just because of Kagome that you don’t want to search for the others yourself isn’t it? You will become a human tonight aren’t you?”
“Keh, yes I will, but that doesn’t matter now.”
“Hm, well it does actually.” Myouga contemplated.
“...?”
“If you’re in your human form you will be more affected by the cold as well. You should be careful not to freeze yourself. If that happens you won’t be able to help Kagome.”
InuYasha looked at the flea in surprise. He hadn’t expected the flea to be concerned of his well being. “I will, a-arigato Myouga.” He stuttered.
It was hard for InuYasha to say thanks to that flea. But he was. Myouga promised to tell the others to look for a shelter and wait for the return of InuYasha and Kagome and gave InuYasha advice to help Kagome.
“You better get some wood, get a fire burning and set your attention back to Kagome. I will find the others and tell them what happened. But you must hurry, before you become a human you should get her warmer as well as yourself.” Myouga gave his last piece of advice.
“I will. Just go now.” InuYasha mumbled.
