The Best Laid Plans...

Kagome sat silently in the library, eyes intently reading the computer screen in front of her.

"How to seduce a man 101," she whispered softly, jotting down notes as she scanned the article for the 12th time.

The hour was growing late, the library practically deserted, as it was almost closing time. She had been planning this for the last week; she, Kagome, was 18 years old now and still a virgin, a condition she loathed with a burning intensity. Traveling between eras had ensured this for her, as reluctant as she was to admit it. So, for the past week (while Inuyasha believed she was taking time to study and complete her final exams for school) she had been secluding herself in the library after school, studying books and the internet about one topic:

Seduction.

Sure, most of the material was about men seducing women, but being the confident woman she was, Kagome figured that most of the information she had gathered was generic enough to apply to a woman seducing a man. The seduction she was planning would be slow, yes, but she figured it would work in the end. Sure, she could just go out one night with her friends and pick up a man at a club or something --today's society ensured it was relatively easy for a woman to get laid-- however Kagome wanted more than just a one-night stand with a nameless willing male; she wanted the romance that should be associated with losing one's virginity.

'Come to think of it, the longer it takes the better. Though I really want to have the experience, I'm a little anxious about it. From what Eri, Yuka, and Ayumi said, losing my virginity will hurt badly at first, but if I find a guy who has experience, it can also be pleasurable. Hmmm, experience? Bleh, this may be a problem...' The only problem she could foresee was whom would she would seduce.

Starting a list in her mind, she considered all the males she knew.

Inuyasha: Sure, she loved him, at one time she dreamed about physical intimacy with him. The only problem was that recently she hadn't been thinking about him along those lines; no, now the thought of physical intimacy with him sickened her to be honest. He was more of a brother to her than a lover or boyfriend. Also, it was extremely doubtful he had much -if any- experience.

Miroku: He more than likely had lots of experience! But, ok, lecher. He would probably be easy to seduce, and he would probably willingly give her the romance and big to-do she wanted. The only thing stopping that train of thought was Sango. There was no way in hell she would willingly put Sango into a situation of pain. So, Miroku was out of the question.

Kouga: Too easy. Way, way, way to easy. Kagome figured that if she dared to encourage him in any way, shape, or form, she would end up mated and pregnant within the hour. No, thank you, not interested. She shivered slightly; he definitely had a beautiful body and would probably make her first time very memorable. However, Kagome did not want this seduction to develop into anything serious. Kouga needed to be permanently eradicated from this mental list of possibilities!

Hojo: Hmmm, a definite possibility. Gorgeous, nice personality, more than likely easily seduced. Her friends would be ecstatic if she decided to show an interest in the young man, which was actually more of a con than a pro. There she would be wide open to the possibility of permanent attachment again. Hojo was a bit clingy, now that she thought about it. Yes, Hojo was out of the running also.

Sighing sadly, Kagome realized she had just run through the extent of males she knew, or at least knew enough. Well, maybe it was better that she seduce a complete stranger, or at the very least a semi-stranger. Yes, less chance of attachment there; and it would make things a whole lot easier for her to just walk away after her goals were reached if she didn't have to see her victim daily afterwards. So, with that decision made, she began to formulate a plan of action.

Turning the pages in her notebook to a clean page, she started to write stages for general seduction. Number one, find a suitable victim. While this was probably the most obvious thing in the world, Kagome didn't want to get ahead of herself and make plans, only to give up because she couldn’t find someone suitable; so that would be her top of the list thing to do, therefore always being in the forefront of her mind. Then, once she found him, she would be able to customize the next stages specifically for him.

Next on her list: Learn about him. Stalk him, talk to his friends, whatever. Find out what he likes, what he dislikes, something to use to grab his attention.

Step three: Basically: Did she turn him on? Because lets face it. She wasn’t just going to jump him if there wasn’t a spark, otherwise he’d get all the glory while she just laid there and let it happen.

Step four: (to be done in conjunction with step 3) Let him know you’re interested too. In other words, flirt your head off, girl!

The library lights flickered 3 times, indicating she had 30 minutes until the library doors locked. Kagome closed her notebook slowly, and decided to print the articles she had found today. She also picked up the two books she had found informative and quickly made her way to the copy machine. Tomorrow morning, Inuyasha would be coming to bring her back to the feudal era, so it wouldn't do to check out the books when she wasn't sure she could get them back before the due date. There were several chapters that gave brilliant ideas regarding the various stages of seduction; it would be nice to have them with her.

She finished her copies, grabbed the printout and made her way back to her backpack. The library lights flickered again, indicating she had 15 minutes left to vacate the premises. Carefully placing the pages in a plastic folder, she gathered the rest of her belongings and haphazardly shoved everything in her backpack. Then she made her way out of the library, smiling cheerfully at the librarians as she left.

She glanced at the sky as she made her way down the library stairs, watching as a few dark clouds blocked the sun from view. Deciding that it would be faster than walking as she still had a couple more stops to make before she made her way home, she made her way to the bus stop.


Shopping

Kagome exited the bus at a busy intersection in downtown Tokyo; shops of all types lined the street, surrounding the large multi-story mall in the center of the block. This would be her first stop as the smaller, privately owned, shops tended to stay open a few hours later than the stores inside the mall itself did. She looked in the windows of several of the shops she passed as she made her way toward the mall, noting which shops she would be stopping in and, noting the closing times of several, which ones she would have to visit first.

The mall was an impressive building. Stores occupied the first 10 floors, the food court occupied the 11th. The stores wrapped along the building's outside, a walkway surrounding them with a guard rail along the upper floors, leaving the view from the center of the ground floor clear up to the stained-glass rooftop in the center. Though there was plenty of artificial light, the stained-glass ceiling allowed sunlight to filter in, decorating the ground floor with beautiful colors. There were several picturesque glass elevators on either side of the building, and escalators ran up the center sides. She walked in via the revolving glass doors and walked to the closest mall directory. Two stores held her interest; one a well-known franchise lingerie store from America, the other a smaller, up-scale boutique. The boutique was located on the sixth floor with various other smaller stores, while the lingerie store occupied half of the eighth floor. As in all malls, there was a very large crowd waiting on line for each elevator, so Kagome decided to take escalators up to the sixth floor.

Kagome walked into the small boutique, taking in the vibrant colors and styles of the clothes on the racks. She had chosen this boutique for a specific purpose; they specialized in traditional clothing from all known eras. She would be spending the majority, if not all, of her summer vacation in the past; hence, if she wanted to find and seduce a male of that time it would be easier to do while wearing clothing from said time.

While she knew male eyes tended to focus on her immediately when she entered a village, Kagome knew she was seen as a loose woman due to her attire. That would not do, not if she wanted some form of romance in this seduction. She did, however, want to have comfortable clothing; so she would be purchasing a couple of kimonos, however her everyday clothing would be more unique to suit her.

She walked to a rack of brightly colored, long tops; they were designed to reach down below her knees, with slits going up each side to end at the top of her hips. Unsure what color scheme she would be taking, she took about 2 dozen of the more subdued colored ones, ranging from a deep blue to a striking crimson, grabbed a few different obi-styled waist wraps from the shelving above the clothing rack, and headed toward the dressing room. While she preferred the deeper colored clothing for her skin tone, she realized that a lot of the colors wouldn't work well with her vibrant indigo eye color. Finally deciding on 14 different tops she decided to ask a sales person for help choosing the kimonos. She waved one woman over to her.

"Could you please help me choose some kimonos? I am in a summer theater club, I'm planning to do an re-enactment from the sengoku jidai and need at least 2 kimonos that would have been worn in everyday situations, and possibly a more formal kimono also. I would prefer to only have to purchase one obi for all 3 if possible.”

The woman choose a hunter green kimono that faded down into a light, minty green on the bottom with silvery vines climbing around the arms, wrapping over her shoulders and settling above her chest line for the formal kimono. The other 2 were patterned in jade, sapphire blue, and a deep mahogany. The obi chosen would match with all 3 kimonos, it was a heavy woven light gray silk that shimmered silver with deep green leaves embroidered throughout. The obi itself cost more than all the other clothing put together. Kagome grimaced at the total and handed over the credit card her mother had given her when she told her of the need for more appropriate clothing; after hearing about the looks she received from males every time the small group traveled into a town, her mother had eagerly agreed and went to purchase a pre-paid credit card for Kagome to use. Thankfully the balance was only about one-quarter gone; her mother had been very generous. Kagome smiled at the sales girl and quietly thanked her for helping, then left the store.

As she walked toward the escalator to head for the eighth floor, Kagome passed a small toy store with a display of plushies in the window. A second later she walked into the store and purchased a small white plushie on impulse; it was adorable and very soft.

'Hey, just because I'm out to seduce a guy into bed with me doesn't mean I can't have this in my bed until then!' she thought, giggling to herself as she walked out of the store and headed to the escalator again.

Kagome walked into the lingerie store, thankful she had looked online and decided which styles she wanted beforehand. The sheer volume of styles and patterns on display was phenomenal. She quickly walked to the racks of bras and picked out the ones she had decided on. They were all push-up style, and had adjustable straps making them versatile no matter what she wore. She choose 3 jade, 3 maroon, 4 black, 3 print, and 1 white, then walked to the panty section and picked up matching styles and colors. She then quickly gathered several dozen tank and halter tops with matching pairs of yoga pants for workout sessions with Sango and many pairs of leggings to wear with the tops she had purchased in the boutique.

Making her way to the sleepwear section, she choose 3 sets of silk pajamas and 3 pairs of cotton short sets; she also picked a sexy flyaway baby doll with ruffles on the edges. Quickly gathering 3 slip dresses to wear under the kimonos, she walked over to the section of footwear and had her foot measured. The store had recently started selling beautiful, durable wool ballerina slippers; she choose several pairs to match her outfits, then several more to match her workout clothes.

She walked toward the checkout counter slowly, deciding to grab a few string bikini's and gauzy cover-ups to go with them on her way.

'Hey they are on sale, and I could use some new suits for bathing in,' she rationalized to herself, handing over the credit card once again, this time before the woman behind the counter could give her the total. 'I so don't wanna know how much I'm spending, but on the bright side, I won't need new clothing for awhile at least!' The woman handed her the receipt to sign with a huge smile, then bowed to Kagome with another huge smile as she was handed the signed receipt back. Kagome heard the girl exclaim cheerfully "Thank you and please come again!" as she walked out the doors of the store then made her way out of the mall itself.

Turning right once she exited the building, Kagome made her way to the electronics store to pick up the extra batteries for her laptop computer. She had reserved them earlier in the week, with the promise from the manager they would be charged and waiting for her by today. She also wanted to pick up the next DVD in the yoga series she was working on, and a DVD on Pilates for beginners. Sango and she would follow one of these DVD's every morning to stretch out their muscles before training; the yoga seemed to also help Kagome find her center and control her ki better.

The next stop Kagome made was in the candy store to stock up on Shippo's pockey (a sweet, stick shaped biscuit) and also pick up some other treats for her friends. The display cases looked so tempting she ended up with a rather large bag containing chocolate bars, lollipops, jelly-pops, gumdrops, lemon drops, licorice strings, caramel squares, fudge, and some candy jewelry.

She made her way to the salon next for a slight trim to her waist length hair; the stylist also talked her into some layers to add extra body. She also decided to treat herself to a manicure and pedicure. Then, figuring she was going to be seducing someone within the near future, if her planning worked, she also decided to have a full body wax. The hair on her legs and arms was completely removed, along with her underarms. She was left with only a small strip of hair slightly above her crotch. The wax specialist recommended she buy a cream to help maintain the hair removal, so she picked that up along with a skin softening cream and various hair products; everything was unscented of course to not interfere with Inuyasha or Shippo's sense of smell.

Leaving the salon she began to blush furiously thinking about the next store she would go to, the erotica supply store. She boarded the bus heading to the outskirts of town, when she finally departed she was in an area well-known for it’s shadier shops. Eri had recommended she visit one shop in particular, thankfully it was the closest one to the bus stop. She had attempted to go to this store all week, every time she would stop at the door she would blush tomato red and rush away without entering. Today being the last chance she had, she determinedly opened the door and walked in. The walls were lined with various outfits and what her friends affectionately called "toys" and there were multiple glass display counters showing a multitude of dildos, vibrators, and some other things Kagome didn't recognize and didn't really want to ask about; the questions she had were embarrassing enough as it is. She walked over to a woman standing behind the counters and spoke with a soft, embarrassed voice. "Excuse me, I have some questions if you have the time please?"

The woman smiled brightly. "Of course dear, what could I help you with today?" Her voice was smooth and calming. Kagome explained the situation partially to the woman and that she was looking for a few things her friends had told her would help her. The woman recommended a popular vibrator and a dildo to "practice" things with. She also recommended a few CD with instructional information and one of the Karma Sutra. Kagome explained that the doctor had given her a shot to prevent pregnancy earlier in the week so she wasn't looking for condoms, and when the woman recommended she buy some flavored massage lotion to help things move into the correct mood, she picked a few bottles out and added them to her purchases. The woman then told her that the shop frequently held informational workshops and held out a schedule for Kagome to take. "Just in case dear, I understand your shyness and these tend to help young woman like yourself understand things a bit better."

Still blushing as she left the store, Kagome took the bus heading back toward the shrine, turning down the block after her stop to go to the pharmacy. The doctor had given her a refill prescription for her birth control, and had the nurse explain how she could give herself the shot; the pharmacy had called her cell phone this afternoon saying she could pick up the refills anytime today. The prescription had to be kept cool, so she also chose a small, battery operated cooler and picked up some extra batteries; then also picked up some breath strips to make sure she didn't have bad breath when she finally found her man.

Finally done with her purchases, Kagome hurried home; she needed to pack tonight so when Inuyasha showed up tomorrow he wouldn't complain.

Ok guys...I'm going to attempt to update this story every Tuesday morning, when at all possible. I only have a couple more chapters completed and beta-read atm, chapter 4 is giving me some major issues...so there might be a slight lag between updates when I get to that chapter!
