Summery: I can not explain too much without giving the story away read it you will be glad you did. Naraku kills Kagome and she vows revenge with her last breath. He takes her shard thinking nothing of it and begins his plans to take the last remaining shard… Kohaku's.

Chapter One
Death
She was alone so utterly alone and this time it had nothing to do with Inuyasha running off with Kikyo. 'Why oh why does he have to be so hard headed and I stubborn?' Kagome thought to herself in total dismay as she faced down the laughing face of her enemy. She had once again stormed out of the camp for some fresh air and private thinking time when Inuyasha pulled his normal attitude problem insisting that she loved Kouga. 'I swear Inuyasha is such a moron sometimes and I blame him for this!'
"Why hello there little miko where is your precious hanyou Inuyasha?" Naraku asked darkly as his evil aura washed over the pure priestess. He had been watching the hanyou and his group of shard hunter for two weeks waiting for the chance to approach the miko alone and take possession of her shard. There was only two left to claim, the miko had one and Kohaku had the other. Naraku knew that the shard easiest to gain would be the miko's because Kohaku was currently under Lord Sesshomaru's protection. He knew if he wanted to gain that shard he would have to be tricky because Sesshomaru would not give it up so easily.
"Naraku!" Kagome hissed in anger she could not believe this, kuso she had to have the worst luck in history! Kagome knew she had one of two options, to fight or flee but she knew fleeing was out of the question because she was to far from the well and even if she wasn't she could not go there and risk Naraku finding out about her home. That would be disastrous Naraku free in the future where there were none to defend against him, her world would be doomed. So what's a girl to do?
Naraku watched with a taunting grin as she pulled her bow and notched an arrow as if to shot him. He found it funny that the wench would think he would be so easily destroyed. "And just what do you plan on doing with that Miko?" he asked sarcastically while pointing at her stance. This miko is really good for a few laughs.' he thought haughtily while raising a brow at her then launching a tentacle in her direction.
She saw the appendage coming and dodged it "What do you want Naraku?" she spat heatedly at him while aiming her arrow at the place his heart would be located, that is if he had one.
"Give me the shards and I promise I will kill you quickly. Ku Ku Ku" Was his reply to her question.
"Never!" Kagome screamed while releasing her arrow at him, fingers crossed hoping her luck would change.
It didn't and the arrow flew right by him as he laughed at her imperfect aim.
"Ku Ku Ku, were you aiming at me?" he laughed while sending barrage of tentacles toward her. "You truly are pathetic to miss a mark that was not even moving" he taunted.
Kagome's heart skipped a beat as she had seen five tentacles flying toward her. She knew she could not hope to dodge them all and she only had one arrow left. Taking her only remaining arrow she notched it as quickly as she could release it towards the coming tentacles. She watched as all but one tentacle was purified but she could not dodge it in time.
"Ku Ku Ku" Naraku cackled as the tentacle impacted her shoulder piercing all the way through.
"Ahhhhh!" Kagome screamed in pain as her hand reached up to grasp the tentacle that pierced her shoulder purifying it on touch. She never knew how she did that it happened when she needed it the most, it is like instinct no matter how hard she would try later she could not recreate it at will. She really was sick and tired of being the defenseless one in the group always needing protection.
"Ku Ku Ku give me the shard miko." Naraku's malice filled voice sounded in her ear as she spit up blood holding her hand over her bleeding shoulder.
"Fuck you!" she screamed as Naraku laughed in response.
"Such language for a lady, Tsk Tsk Tsk." he said in a reprimanding tone as he sent another three tentacles at her.
Kagome channeled her powers into her bow to use as a baseball bat "I will never give you the shards. You will have to pry them out of my cold dead fingers, and even then I will come back to life just to kill you, you youkai wanna be!" she declared as she swung at the tentacles purifying the ones that touched her bow.
"That can be arranged, however once you are dead you will stay that way." he spat sending five more tentacles at the miko.
The blood loss was starting to really affect her, her movements were too slow and she could not dodge the coming attack. One pierced through her stomach as another pierced her chest a lone tear leaked out of her dying eyes "This is not the end Naraku!" was the last words that left her mouth as her heart stopped beating and death took over her mortal body.
"Ku Ku Ku but it is Miko." he said to her dead form taking the jewel shards from around her neck before disappearing in a cloud of miasma.
