Is Naraku’s Last Curse a Blessing?

“Damn I’m goin’ be late, she’s gonna kill me!” Inu said with a gulp and one of Kagome’s ‘sits’ that put him a few feet in the ground. “Damn it, damn it, damn it.” He kept repeating till he saw the god tree and Kagome. ‘Damn she looks good, I love her smell.’ He stopped in the god tree before he went down knowing she was a little mad. ‘Little? Yeah right she’s pissed the hell off.’ With a gulp, and making sure part of his surprise was gonna hold he went down to her.

“Hey.” Inu said. “Hey nothing! Where have you be…en.” She was barley able to finish her sentence. ‘Inuyasha what happened you look so solemn. Even with you being nicer you are still never solemn, holding on to the tough guy thing.’ She thought as she looked upon him. “Hold on a sec Kagome?” All she could do is nod. Inu walk over to the bushes. “Do you really think I cant smell you downwind! I’m a demon not an animal!” he yelled as the others stood up. “We were about to leave. We just were just making sure Kagome-sama was ok till you came.” said Miroku. “That’s right.” chimed in Shippo. “Well I’m here now so beat it and remember I can smell Keade at the village.” Inu said calmly. They all stood shocked for a minute. Then left for it seemed that he really needed to talk about something important. Then he walked up to Kagome and with out a word picked her up and leaped into the tree.

When he was near the top he stopped. Next to where he stopped there was a hammock covered in furs. He sat her down on it and sat behind her. He pulling her to him so her back rested on his stomach and her head on his chest. Then she saw the sun setting over the trees and mountains. “Oh wow! Inuyasha! This is amazing!” Kagome said then turn to face a smiling Inu. “I know” he said calmly and pulled her to him again. Kagome sat there with Inuyasha’s arms around her watching the sky turn bright then start to fade. She shivered at his closeness. Inu felt her shiver and placed the top of his fire rate robe over them to keep her warm and he held her closer to make sure. “Thank you Inuyasha.” she said shyly. “No big deal” he said in his normal no care tone, yet Kagome heard the kindness in it. They sat together till the moon was almost overhead.

“The full moon is so beautiful.” Kagome exclaimed. ‘Not as beautiful as you’ Inuyasha could not help but think. Inu took Kagome down from the god tree and laid out the furs for her to sit on as he made a fire. “Inuyasha what’s wrong? You keep looking at the sky?” she asked. “It’s nothing really. Never mind it.” he replied. ‘It’s almost time. Myoga said when the moon was at her peak. I wonder how she’ll react. I know she said she loved me as a hanyou when we fought Kaguya and we kissed, but does she love me?’ the worried Inu wondered. He moved to sit next to her on the pelts of fur. He finally saw what she was wearing, his mother’s favorite kimono (that he had given her) it shaped her body and draped around her legs and arms. Blue trim, pink and red roses with white background. Her hair done up in a braided bun with a blue ribbon flowing down her neck, and one stand of hair waved along the side of her face. He blushed as he looked her over ‘She’s gonna be mine and I will be hers’ he declared in his mind.

‘He’s being really strange. I wonder if it has to do with me wearing this?’ Kagome thought. She looked up to see the moon just overhead. She felt Inuyasha take her right hand in his left. “Father once told me ‘The youkai are the hand that protects. The left hand. ” He placed his right hand on top of her hand he already held. “Mother once told me ‘The humans are the hand that nurtures.’ The right hand. Kagome I have both hands I’m youkai and human I will protect and nurture you.” He paused for a moment nervous at what she might say. He reached in his sleeve and pulled out a necklace made of white gold. It had a ¼ inch flat chain that was place together like scales. It came to a point in the middle, from that point was a crystal clear blue gem in the shape of half a heart. “Kagome will you… umm will you…” Kagome now knowing of what he wanted to ask immediately says “Yes…Yes, Inuyasha I would love to marry you.” “Really!” He smiled. “Yes you silly pup, I would love to.” Inu could not be any happier. He pulled her to him and kissed her as if this was his last moment with her. He all but pleaded for entry to her mouth, she opened it a little for him. Inu was the one to break the kiss, he lifted the necklace and put it on her. Kagome smiled as they looked into each others eyes, then she noticed that Inu was wearing the other half of the heart around his neck.

“Inuyasha I love this necklace but may I ask why a necklace?” Kagome asked politely. “You’ll see.” was all he said. All in one moment a light surrounded them and all they could see was the full moon and each other. When the light faded Kagome felt strange. ‘What is this? It feels like other person is inside me, but how can that be? No it’s not a person but a link. I see it, it leads to Inuyasha!’ She thought happily. “Our hearts are now paired. We can always feel each other and see the way to one another.” He smiled realizing that she was his only.

“Kagome I have one more thing to show you and I have to tell you some stuff.” “Stuff? What kind of stuff?” “I’ll tell you when we get there.” He picked up the furs and picked her up and off they went with the moon shining down on them.' Kagome thought as it seemed to shine for only them.
